I came in for removal of two Seborrheic keratosis, one on my shoulder missed the previous visit years ago, and another on my back. The one on my shoulder has been causing a problem with irritation, itching, and occasional burning and I was beginning to wonder if it was becoming a serious problem. I think I saw an NP, (sorry I didn't get a name), but thought I'd made an appt with an NP rather than the doc (who I didn't care for years ago). She came in with a machine meant for cryotherapy without first viewing the offending keratosis. I pointed out the one on my shoulder; no problem. The one on my back was pointed out and described the best I could, noting it's proximity to my tattoo. Oops. Missed it. I have no idea which one she got, but feeling the offending one and trying to confirm in the mirror tells me it's still there. read more

Went to Forefront for a first appointment yesterday. I did my paperwork prior and arrived 15 minutes before as requested. They called me five minutes before the appointment time, and I thought this is awesome and seamless. The intake girl was snarky and condescending. At first, I thought she must be having a bad day, not sure or confident in what she needed to ask me, or maybe I reminded her of someone she hated, it did not matter, she made it clear I was not welcome and a problem to her. At the exact appointment time she left me. For the first 30 minutes of waiting I could hear activity on and off in the hallway, but then it went silent. At 40 minutes of waiting and still no noise, I started to think I was left for the evening. at 45 minutes, I left the room. The ladies at the desk were surprised I was still there as well. I'm now convinced the snarky intake girl never told the doctor I was there and left me in that room on purpose. Not a great experience. All of this was yesterday, and no one has called to ask what happened, did I want to try again? Nothing. Wild. This place is also in Merriville not Crown Point in case anyone cares, well into the Merriville limits. read more

Dr. Florek is truly OUTSTANDING!!! I've been seeing Dr. Florek as my dermatologist for nearly a decade, and I truly can't imagine going to anyone else. She is intelligent, highly skilled, and has an exceptional ability to explain everything clearly and patiently. She always takes the time to listen to my concerns and never rushes through appointments--she genuinely wants you to understand every part of your care. Her personable and courteous manner makes each visit comfortable, and she's both efficient and extremely thorough during exams. Over the years, I've referred close friends and family members to her, and they've all had excellent experiences--many with little to no facial scarring after surgical procedures. Dr.Miranda is a great Dr. Problem is they r using a 3rd party co. to handle your scripts. The co. Is incompetent at best. In phone with them for approx. 45 minutes and they had no clue as to what I need help with and then told me I can not send them the paper I needed filled out. They don't use other co. paper work but the paper i needed filled out was from the manufacturer. Called last a message for office Mgr. but never received a call back from Forefront. I had to find a new Dermatologist to help me with this and had no problems moving forward. Again Dr. Miranda was great sorry I had to go elsewhere.​ read more

Dermatology, Dr. Florek was in a Hurry after being 50 minutes late. Didn't read my info being a new patient. Rushed in said the growth on my shoulder had to be removed. She numbed it and I stated I am severely allergic to anything with Iodine! Did anyone read my allergies. She stated no worries. She took the growth out 123, stitched it up less than 10 minutes. Needless to say, I should've been worried. I started feeling lightheaded. My tongue was tingling as I was getting ready to leave the office. I ended up going to the emergency room where I was hyperventilating because I couldn't feel my lips or my tongue and they gave me Benadryl and medication. I reported this to Dr. Floreks office and was told that somebody would call me back. After three days I'm not getting a call back. I called back rudely and they said there was nothing they could do. They didn't use iodine and that if I was felt so strong about it. I didn't have to have my sutures removed there. The quality of care on a one to 10 basis was a -100. They were rushed they didn't give a damn about what they put on me. And the kicker to this all, I had to pay for the deductible for the ER visit. And the insurance paid her which she billed 45 minutes to an hour of service which was a lie and now she wants. $39.31 from me. I asked her if she wanted my hospital bill. The most unprofessional Doctor. I guess she makes her money on Quantity NOT Quality. Heed this Long Message!!!! Update: The reply is BS I did email and NEVER received a Response!!!! read more

Stay away from this medical office if you have other options. Should have learned my lesson after the first surgery with Aleksandra Florek. There were many issues with the after surgery healing as the wound was not pressure wrapped correctly. The bruising and bleeding sent me back for another pressure wrap. It took all the longer to heal. My second experience was much worse. Aleksandra Florek treats you as a nonconsequential person. Even after I called and questioned the time line for removal of stitches at the incision site, she removed the stitches early and then tried to correct herself by gluing the surgical incision together and taping it. Needless to say, that led to more complications. The office manager listened to my concerns and documented them the 3rd visit when I needed to return to have the wound examined for redness and swelling. The scar is much more pronounced and disfigured than it needed to be. Do yourself a favor and pursue a better experience else-where. read more

This place used to be good but sometime last year Forefront dermatology started going really downhill , I'll wait for over an hour to see my Dr and I barely get seen for 5 minutes before I'm gone , the Drs do not care about the patients here and don't get me started on how no one here ever answers the phone , I've been trying to get ahold of my Dr for over a month and I've gotten no call backs to my 7 voicemails I've left over the past month , I really don't recommend going here the staff who works here only cares about getting their paycheck every week and that's it . Nothing bad to say about the practitioner I saw, but I got charged for three products on different occasions that I never purchased, each product being $45 for a total of $135. The only reason I figured this out was because I asked for a breakdown of charges. I have spent so much time on hold on THREE occasions waiting for something to be done about it but was told the last two times that they need to investigate it first. Today I was told it would take 3 more weeks to investigate it. They could not think of a reason they keep accidentally charging me when I've never purchased any product from them. I have cancelled my future appointments as this is completely unacceptable business practice with still no resolution despite my great efforts. read more

I recently had a terrible experience here. I would've been a new patient. I completed all the new patient forms online prior to my visit. I arrived early. I have insurance. Nevertheless, I sat and watched the waiting room empty without my name being called. Then, more people came in and were able to be seen. Still, I sat. A guy sitting next to me said, "Do they even know you're here?". So, I went up to the check in window and said I'm still here for my 10:40 appointment. The woman replied that they were very busy and would get to me. After an hour of watching other people go in and out I finally went up to the window and said that it was obvious they didn't want me as a patient so I was leaving. She replied, "OK." read more

I am a long time patient and have been coming here for years. Last time I came, I was waiting for the doctor and there was a suture needle on the floor from the last patient, and I put my shoes back on right away and told them. They removed it and completed my exam. On September 12, 2024, I returned for another exam and I was placed in Room 4. As I undressed for my exam, I remembered the suture needle on the floor and kept my shoes on. Near the front of the chair, there were gauze squares on the floor from the previous patient. As I walked around the chair, the floor was very dirty around it and there was a smell---behind the chair, there was a full, sticky mouse trap with mouse droppings and a dead fly around it along with more gauze squares from another patient. I got dressed, reported it to the front desk receptionist and told her I was leaving. She asked that if someone would clean the room, would I go back inside? I told her I would not and I was leaving. Dr. Florek called on my cell phone while I was driving away and asked if I would come back if they put me in a different room, and I told her I would not. I contacted the corporate office five days ago by e-mail and no one has responded so do not reply to me with the generic ask for me to contact the office. Everyone there is fully aware of the situation. As I repeated to the staff, this is a medical facility and it needs to be clean and not filthy and disgusting. This facility needs to be closed down and be subject to an industrial cleaning and a visit from Orkin to secure the safety and cleanliness for the patients. read more

Leaving one star is more than deserved... My daughter has completed one month of Accutane, now mind you she has started this journey last February with her 1st round of blood work required to only have NP Heather drop the ball the 1st time and forgetting to file the appropriate paperwork for my daughters prescription to be filled. Which was caught and brought to Heathers attention by my daughter. So, therefore she had to complete another test and wait an additional month to start on the prescription. Moving forward, she has now completed her 1st month of accutane, had her blood work drawn last Tuesday, May 31st to be told once again, that her script had not been called in and now it is past the time sensitive time frame for her script to be filled and she will have to start all over once again!!! My daughter has followed through and made phone calls, left messages, actually spoke with someone last Friday and confirmed blood work was recieved and script would be called in. But to find out today when she called the pharmacy there was no such order ready. I took it upon myself to call on my daughters behalf, talked to 3 different people and like I said was told she would not be full filling her 2nd script due to lack of communication and files not being completed. This is only the 1st round people and she has been going through this process since February 2022. Heather has now dropped the ball to complete orders for 1 patient mulitple times. And not one time has my daughter ever recieved a call back but yet she has been doing everything correct in an timely matter. My question is why, if only 7 days ago her panels were drawn, this script can not full filled and why is it that her chart has been looked over and slipped through the cracks at every chance?! Heather is not a compotent employee and can not handle a patient flow correctly. We will not be back nor will we ever recommend your office again! read more
