I had CO2 laser here in March 2025 and the care of service was terrible and the results are worse. I went in for my consult with Dr. Soleymani and described in great detail what I hoped to get out of the procedure/improvements to my face/skin. Dr. explained there was a very aggressive option and one that was milder. It was agreed upon by both of us that I would have the more aggressive procedure which I was totally fine with. They gave me several pages of instructions, what to expect from the procedure, aftercare and products I needed to purchase (not from them but from Target/Amazon, etc.) The Dr. made a point of saying they always call several times to check on the patient between the procedure and the follow-up appointment, he'd provide a cell number so I could reach out at anytime if I had issues between appointments, blah blah blah. I made the appointment for the extra AGGRESSIVE laser and was charged and paid in full for that procedure. I studied the instructions intently, stocked up on the required products, and eagerly awaited my appointment. Day of the nurse numbed up my face, the Dr. comes in and asks, "so what are we doing? We're not doing the full blown (something like that) CO2 are we? I don't think you need to go that deep...how much did you pay?" I'm thinking, 'are you KIDDING me??' 'How much did I pay?' For real? And now you aren't going to perform the procedure that was originally planned?? I protested and reminded him that yes indeed the full blown procedure was what "we" were doing, however, by this point my face was all numb and I had a numbing injection, not to mention a Valium (that they provided, I didn't just pop one in before I got there) that made speaking difficult and debating impossible. Long story short, I didn't receive the extreme, aggressive laser treatment (that I paid for). I never received a phone call or any communication from the office after the procedure between appointments, and the whole experience was so disappointing and frustrating. Never heard from them again. After several months of healing my skin looked worse than before I ever had the procedure and I ended up going to another dermatologist that prescribed Tretinoin and hydroquinone to help with the mess the laser left behind. Now 9 months later the topicals have made an improvement but my skin still looks worse than before the laser treatment. I wasted 3k and didn't even get what I originally paid for, it's so frustrating. I do want to mention I had fractional laser treatment about 14 years ago and the results were outstanding! My skin was gorgeous for a few years!! I thought the CO2 would be more appropriate this time around because I am that much older and felt, based on my research, would be better for my older skin. The Dr. did ask me at the end of the CO2 if I'd ever had micro needling (or whatever it's called) and that I should consider that. WHAT? You're advising me of this now??? This practice might be great for all other dermatological procedures, but I wouldn't use them for cosmetic procedures. Based on other reviews from patients that have addressed issues with this practice resulting in no resolve, I'm not going to bother trying to get mine. Rather, I'm going to write a letter of complaint to the state board just so it's on record and that's probably the best I can expect. read more

Very Poor customer service. Had a biopsy done and they did not tell me until after they did the biopsy that results would take TWO WEEKS. With skin cancer biopsy results should be turned in 2 days! Then they would not release and send all the report to a large medical center. They clearly were pissed I would not use them for my care. STAY AWAY! read more

The nursing assistant asked me what I was there for I was confused. I am quite unhappy with Dermio Dermatology and their Munster, IN location due to their misrepresentation of what it would cost to remove a skin tag. They told me it was very likely that my insurance would not cover the charge of the skin tag removal and that they would charge me $70 to have it removed. I thought, ok I am willing to pay that amount. After having the procedure performed I received a couple of bills. One for 101.31 and another one for 170.55. At no time did they tell me I would have to pay separately for an office visit as well as the cost of them sending it to the lab. After calling to ask if any of these amounts could be reduced because of what I was told over the phone, they said there was nothing that they could do. I believe they will tell you one thing over the phone just to get you to come in and then they will hit with this huge bill. Not only that, but they make you put a credit card on file with them so that they can make sure they get your money. Never again will I go to Dermio Dermatology. read more

I've been visiting Dermio for pre-cancerous spot removal. Like most medical practices they like to overcharge insurance, so I'm always left with a customer responsible balance. I have great insurance that I pay a premium for and always owe more to Dermio. Just seems very unfair to me and my bank account. read more

I visited this clinic for skin cancer check. The Physician missed my skin cancer on my forehead. Another Physician noticed it a month later. I was of course charged for another office visit and was told only course of therapy was to use freezing method(what is used for warts, which can scar and is billable as a procedure by this physician as office procedure) When I asked about a non-scarring treatment option, she blew me off as uneducated. I went to mayo clinic in Rochester, MN received a topical chemotherapy cream. No procedure necessary and no scarring. Do yourself a favor and go to a reputable clinic that truly cares about the patient and not the business side of health care. read more

Dermio is awful in my experience. Unprofessional, things get mixed up, they go back and forth on what they're willing to do to resolve issues. They don't tell you when you call to reschedule about the cancellation policy when they're the ones that make laser days so hard to get in on (as it gets brought in from somewhere else and it's a very random time slot: Wed AM only), then keep your money and penalize you for rescheduling when they didn't tell you the rescheduling policy when you called but just blamed you for canceling. How was I to know it was a problem if your office staff didn't tell me?... As I paid a deposit up front, they said they'd work with me but just ended up taking my money and not allowing me to be serviced. Boy did I get treated in a condemning manner as well for not knowing a policy that THEY never told me about. Such a high turnover rate for doctors... Jeng Mi left... I don't know what the deal is here with the lack of professionalism of the office staff either. It feels like they want to screw people over on purpose or punish them and take their money? They like tried to be frustrating or cruel on purpose which was really weird in my experience. DONT give them any money in advance is my advice. I was promised a refund then shamed and condemned why they wouldn't give it to me. Dermio also blocked me on social media when I tried to use my free speech and warn others of my experience with them for others to not pay deposits to them because they WILL come up with reasons to take them and not service you. I was not warned of the policy being a problem rescheduling and they let me reschedule without telling me then held it against me. BE CAREFUL with this office and your $... yikes. Northwestern does a better for lasers and they actually have them in house and not a travel laser (which is scary bc Dermio doctors don't appear to have much experience since the laser travels to them)... just go with them. read more

I went in for a wart to be removed and I was told that it would be 6-8 months of treatments... for a wart. I'll never go back to this dermatologist. What a joke... I feel like they didn't want to solve the issue and just wanted to milk me out of co-pays. Do yourself a favor, find a dermatologist that actually cates. The sad part is I went in three years ago and the doctor (Soleymani) was GREAT. Now, they only have PAs at the location and treat you like a recurring revenue stream instead of a patient. read more

I have a reoccurring very small rash on my back. I thought it was a bug bite but after a few months, it hadn't healed so I thought a visit to a dermatologist was in order. The appointment was made for the end of July. I was not able to see a doctor for a full month and a half: I could get in earlier if I saw a physician's assistant named Lena. Lena had no idea what the rash was and my options were to treat it with creams or to have a biopsy. I opted for a biopsy so I could get some quick answers. She cut out some of the rash, gave me one stitch and said the results would not be available for 10-14 days. An appointment was made 14 days later to get the stitch out as well as the results. Two weeks later, the stitch was removed and I asked about the biopsy results. The nurse who removed the stitch stated I should have gotten a phone call with the results, which I never got. She left and returned, saying they didn't have them yet but they'd call first thing tomorrow morning with said results. The next day, day 15, they didn't call. I called a day after that, on day 16 and left a message. I called again on day 17 and left another message. Finally, on day 18 I heard back from Lena. She said there was a delay because they had several pathologists look at the biopsy because they couldn't find anything and that the pathologists wanted to do ANOTHER biopsy. Meanwhile, I still have a rash and now a small wound due to the stitch. I'm not applying anything to it because I wasn't given any directions. Lena and I decided against another biopsy. She said since it was "swollen" and not a "normal" rash, she wanted me to do blood work to make sure it was not an infection. If the bloodwork came back clean, she would prescribe me something topical to see if it would treat the rash. I got my bloodwork done. Two days later they called and said the labs were clean and wanted to know when I wanted to schedule another biopsy. I told them that Lena and I had already discussed a second biopsy (and decided against it) and that she was going to prescribe something topical. The woman on the phone stated none of that information was listed in the notes. The woman on the phone said she cannot prescribe anything since she's not a doctor but if I "needed" something to put on the rash immediately, they could squeeze me in to see someone else. I said it wasn't that bad (it never was that bad, it was a small red rash which would become SWOLLEN when I would scratch it) and I would wait to hear back from Lena. Unfortunately, Lena was on a two-week long vacation at this point. I was told I'll get a call as soon as Lena returns. That was Day 44 since my biopsy. That is correct: she returned on day 44 and I still do not have any results nor am I any closer to knowing what the problem is. I haven't seen a DOCTOR and when the person I am was seeing is out of town, this office provides no other alternatives. I'm at the same point as I was four months ago, although now I'm out a few hundred dollars for the biopsy and blood work. Not only does this office not call back with results, they have no interest in trying to do anything to help with the issue that brought me there in the first place: treat the dang rash. If your staff is on a two week vacation, bring me in to see someone else: perhaps a dermatologist? That's who I tried to see in the first place but the office recommend a physician's assistant instead. Back to our timeline: Lena arrived back on day 44. No call. Day 45 rolled around. No call. Now I'm on day 48 and the office still has not contacted me back. This has been a HORRIBLE experience. I would avoid this business at all costs. read more

This is an exceptional doctor and office! One of the most challenging issues of being a military family is finding great doctors after a move. I am happy to say we have found our family dermatologist. I went in to have a suspicious spot on my nose checked. It turned out to be basal cell cancer. Dr. Soleymani was extremely knowledgeable and genuine when addressing my questions and concerns regarding the Mohs procedure. Dr. Soleymani and his staff were as gentle as they could possibly be with the procedure. He did an excellent job closing my wound to create minimal scarring. I had my procedure on a Thursday and was scheduled to have the stitches removed the following Wednesday. I was surprised to receive a follow up call from Dr. Soleymani on the Monday after my procedure checking to see how everything was healing over the weekend. It really shows that he truly cares about his patients. read more

I can't say enough about Dr. Soleymani and his staff. I just moved to the area and was having issues with acne- I hadn't seen a dermatologist in nearly a decade so I was pretty nervous about going again. I saw the reviews and decided to make an appointment. The staff was super courteous and got me in nearly right away. The office was beautiful and modern, and they give you free skin stuff, snacks, and water to make your visit comfortable! As if that wasn't enough, Dr. Soleymani is personable, knowledgeable, and patient- a trio that's hard to find. This week, I had an emergency acne crisis and the staff got me in immediately to see the doctor, and they took care of it right away. I'm so grateful to have found these guys. If you are looking for a dermatologist, seriously book this place. They are awesome. read more
