The clinicians here are truly the gold standard of urological care for women. Dr.Dunn is the only Urogynecologist or urologist of the 5 or 6 I've seen in the past few years to actually listen to my struggles and help me. They also do Pap smears/breast exams so you can bundle your appts. I was tired of being gaslit about my symptoms and just being put on horrible drugs while I waited for my illnesses to "go away their own". The nurses and check in staff are also so lovely and really make me feel welcome. Always come ready to pee! They usually want a sample even if you don't have UTI symptoms. read more

Called to make an appointment after seeing a urologist and being told I have pelvic floor issues that included my bladder. The person who answered the phone was more interested in my health insurance and if it was a ppo, hmo, etc. My insurance is a self funded plan through my retirement and have seen many providers, even out of state with full coverage. What was interesting is that they wouldn't look me up and was told they don't have the ability to look up health insurance coverage. What a joke, but was told that it's Dr Dunns policy. Not having the ability to look up coverage is not a policy, but rather incompetence. Please check out Dr Dunns multiple disciplinary actions from the state of Colorado department of regulatory agencies website. She's also lost her license to practice in New Mexico. The latest dispensary action from 2020 states, "after review of all the information in this matter, the Panel found that your conduct fell below the generally accepted standards of practice for a physician constituting unprofessional conduct". read more

Dr Dunn is amazing!! Very attentive and helped with my hormones, bladder and pelvic floor issues

Below is the review that Healthgrades rejected. I've waited a year to write this review. In April of 2023, I, a 52 year old woman, had pelvic floor surgery to fix rectocele and a cystocele. I My issue was that I would urinate after running a few steps, doing five jumping jacks or sneezing. If I had a full bladder, sometimes I couldn't hold it while standing or walking. If I didn't work out intensely, it got dramatically worse. I selected Dr. Dunn based on information I found from Healthgrades. Knowing what I know now, I would not have had the surgery. Dr Dunn's staff was awesome! They were very good at communication, follow up, answering all my questions, scheduling me and very gracious. Really world class customer service. Sabrina was particularly wonderful. She was knowledgeable, would research what she didn't know, and was extremely empathetic. Dr Dunn was fast and efficient and very confident that she could fix my problems, which I appreciated. She was willing to work with me as I have a number of drug reactions and prefer to use supplements whenever possible. She asked me a few quick questions and was very kind when I was in the surgery center. Afterward, the recovery was much better than I expected. I was in almost no pain (only took Tylenol and ibuprofen) and I healed very quickly. It should be noted that I exercised very intensely before the surgery and restricted myself to an ayurvedic diet to help with the healing. During the 2-3 month recovery, I complained that I still had a rectocele and she said I was fine. I complained that I was in pain whenever I tried to exercise, and about how urinating was difficult and she said PT would solve it. I complained about how I could no longer have an orgasm, and she told me I was going into menopause. I'll point out a few things here. A few days before the surgery I was capable of having very easy, earth-shattering multiple orgasms. I also had my period two days before the surgery and had been in perimenopause for 13 years. Something was wrong here and I knew it. After 6 months of doing my own research, doing gobs of PT and seeing multiple pelvic floor specialists, I finally got a second opinion from another surgeon. He said that I still had a rectocele, and that my sling was too high and too tight. He also said I was not evacuating my bladder. He asked me a bazillion questions. Apparently, I'm a unique woman in that I do not have clitoral orgasms. The majority of my orgasms stem from the erectile tissue next to my urethra. The sling most likely was too high and blocking access to that erectile tissue thereby impeding my orgasms. I immediately went for another surgery to have the sling removed. Unfortunately after nearly an hour, he could not find it, but was able to remove some scar tissue. I'm able to have a weak orgasm, but nothing like what I had a few days before the surgery. I am now able to work out without pain, although about once a week I do have pain in my pelvic floor, but it is tolerable. Sometimes, I really struggle to urinate. Additionally, the surgery also aggravated lower back and hip problems and I didn't know I had. Probably because I exercised 5-7 days a week before the surgery and after the surgery could barely exercise for one session and/or due to the angle and time period of position my legs were in during surgery. My PT said women should get checked out by an orthopedist to make sure they don't have any latent orthopedic issues before going into this surgery. I will see that surgeon again to inquire about a third surgery to fix the rectocele this time, and to see what can be done about the sling since I still have trouble urinating and struggle with orgasms. So my journey continues. I hope this information is useful when considering surgery or Dr. Dunn. Additionally, don't trust Healthgrades. read more

I saw Dr Dunn for over 6 months. After putting me through horrific in office testing I was misdiagnosed with IC. I also had a persistent UTI that was never diagnosed (they do a dipstick at every visit) and ultimately found out (new doctor ) I had May Thurner Syndrome. She wanted to do instillations or stick a wire up my spine with a battery in my behind. Neither of which would have given me any relief whatsoever. I'm scheduled now for minimally invasive surgery to put a stent in my iliac vein (which is being pinched by my iliac artery). I have been living with the worst pain imaginable, lost almost 30 pounds and with my new doctor found out I had a horrible, persistent UTI on top of everything (that was found with a urine protein test). My urine was cloudy, smelly and sometimes pink and every time I was told no UTI. I shudder to think I could have let her operate on me and STILL be In horrific pain. Run. Fast. Get a second opinion and an MRI with and without contrast. I have PTSD from the testing they performed on me. Worst Doctor experience I've ever had. I was borderline suicidal. I went to Dr. Dunn after another doctor left non dissolving stitches in me after another surgery. That caused a three-year low grade infection. I was sent to Dunn to correct that. I knew might bein trouble when I woke up and she told me that she had "fixed my celiac disease." What she actually did I do not know but I now loose control of my bowels without feeling anything at all. Can you imagine how humiliating and degrading it is to be out and NOT realize that you are or have pooped!??? She didn't "fix" anything. She actually destroyed my spirit. THANKS FOR FURTHER DAMAGING MY HOPE FOR A BETTER LIFE. I CERTAINLY HOPE YOU NEVER HURT ANOTHER PATIENT THE WAY YOU HURT ME. read more

Unconscionable . When I told the medical assistant I d been sexually assaulted, she asked me if I was asleep while I was being raped. i was not dreaming and it's impossible to sleep while being raped violently. This was unconscionable , especially for a female health provider. After going over my health history, she asked me if I had any behavioral health issues. I said that of course, I have PTSD, as a result of the trauma. Then I asked her when we could schedule surgery. She replied that Dr. Dunn does not do surgery. This is discrimination on the basis of my disability. But there's much more. I was so angry and frustrated, that I said I had been told that the doctor scheduled surgery for Fridays and I wasted my time going there. She began to argue, and out of sheer frustration, I cursed . She then threatened to call the police! To threaten a rape survivor with police action is unacceptable. I left . Then, thinking about her threat, I realized that the police couldn't do anything because profanity is protected under the First amendment. I called the office to tell them this, and the next day I was called by a third party to say there had been a report of police contact. My therapist, who is treating me for the assaults, (yes, two times), bought the report. The office manager, lied to the police to make her complaint a valid one. Let me state, I have been a pacifist for 50 years. Right, I'm 73 years old. The manager claimed that I had come in with a lot of bags acting strange. I was late and came I apologized. That's not strange. Then, this unethical and dishonest person, claimed that I said I had a knife in my purse and threatened to cut everyone in the office. How ridiculous! She said that because if you threaten someone it may be a crime. I am a non violent, caring and ethical woman. These people are NOT. Then, I had forgotten the name of the medical assistant, and since I wanted to report her, I called to ask for her name. They said they can't give out personal information. because they knew i was going to report her to the American Association of Medical Assistants. For dishonesty and not taking responsibility for her actions, both major violations. my therapist reported her for elder abuse. this woman needs a therapist! BTW, i see that Dr. Dunn mentions being part of a medical family. Well, so am I. My father was a surgeon, and he would never have treated anyone like that. I learned compassion and understanding from him, as well as how to be truly and honestly sympathetic. Not abusive like this office. And slander is a tort. read more

Extremely disappointed in the quality of care here. I had an ultrasound/ scan done at an imaging center. After the scan, I called Foothills to understand my result and see if it was important. They explained that they would like to discuss the results in person the next day. I show up and Dr. Dunn walks in saying the results are clear, everything looks good, & I don't need to be here. They charged me $200 for that visit that did not need to happen. $200 is a lot of money for me. It could have been answered with a simple 5 minute phone call. When I confronted the front desk ladies, they were defensive and not kind. It seems like they will take advantage of your money whenever possible. Never going back to this place & advising all my friends & family to look elsewhere. read more

I found Dr. Dunn quite by accident at a health and wellness event and she was the guest speaker. After her talk, I realized the importance of having a gynecologist. I'd not had one and I was experiencing stress incontinence and it turned out that Dr. Dunn was exactly the type of doctor I need, an urogynecologist. I'd gone to a different doctor and his first option to me was surgery. I wasn't very impressed by that. When I met Dr. Dunn, I took her card and made an appointment a few days later. Once I arrived and sat with Dr. Dunn after she ran lots of tests, we confirmed again what options were. I tried a medication that wasn't successful for me and physical therapy which also didn't help much and my condition got much worse. Finally we decided that surgery was my only option. Dr. Dunn performed the surgery and I had follow-up visits, as well as a needed second surgery. The care I've had at this office is fantastic and although I had complications with my surgery due to scar tissue (not the doctor), the staff treated me remarkably well and I'm now on a first-name basis with everyone. I'm very pleased and would highly recommend Dr. Dunn. read more

I had a failed bladder sling procedure from another doctor, so I came to Dr. Dunn for a second look. She was absolutely wonderful. She did the procedure, and it has held up and worked wonderfully. I was in the hospital overnight, and she made sure to check on me and made sure all my meds were available as soon as she scheduled me, so that I would have them as soon as I was home from surgery. This part of my review would be 10 stars, if I could give that many. The bad part - Dr. Dunn is very, very busy. When I returned for a regular well-woman visit, I had a student who took notes and vitals, and I explained an issue that I have been having that has caused a great deal of concern. When Dr. Dunn came in, she was very rushed, and I am pretty sure she didn't even look at the notes. I felt very dismissed with my concerns, as in: "Oh, you're doing great - see you next year", and out the door. It's now been a while after the appointment, and I am still having the problem, and it's worse. I will have to find a new doctor. read more

**Update 4/2016 ** Be sure to look up Dr. Dunn on the DORA site. She has been disciplined multiple times. Also, she has lost the ability to practice urology and can only do gynecology now. Plus, in the deleted reviews, you can see one from "Terry D." This was the only review from that user, Dr. Dunn herself. It was a glowing review. Apparently Yelp found out and removed it. What a dishonest person! ===== I have seen both doctors and two assistants here. First of all, I called for my records to be sent to me because a new specialist needed them. I sent my request via postal mail. Two weeks later and two days before my new doctor appointment, I realized I did not yet have my records. So I called. I was told "we don't have your request" and "I fill them and I haven't seen it." I said I know I mailed it - just across town. She then says, "Oh, it's probably in that pile of mail over there." WHAT? You're a medical office and you have TWO WEEKS of mail in a pile? So I get put on hold for 10 minutes (it takes THAT LONG to find my mail?) and when the person comes back on the phone she says they do have it and she'll send them out tomorrow. They didn't arrive "tomorrow". Not only that, but I just got my last bill from the last visit....ten months AFTER the visit. It was not an insurance hold up, either. Had it been over a year, I would have told them to write it off like most of my doctors/clinics. But all of that is not the worst part. I went in suspecting a UTI. I was examined and told "I think I know what it is, but I won't tell you until I know for sure." That is not something a cancer patient wants to hear! So my urine is dipped. It shows nothing but some blood and protein in it. So it gets cultured, along with a vaginal secretion. I get a bill from the lab a month later for $450 out of pocket expenses for the seven cultures. But guess what? I was not even tested for E.Coli - the MOST COMMON cause of UTIs! I was supposed to return for a cystoscopy since the doc "didn't know what was wrong". I skipped it, not wanting anything else to do with that clinic. I later went to a different urogyn - took three months to get in...so now I've had a UTI for four months...and the first thing he did was check for E.Coli. For $7. I was livid about the first doctor! I had previously had a hysterectomy with bilateral oophorectomy (ovaries removed) from this clinic and that also went horribly wrong. After *finally* getting my records, I see that even on my post-surgical follow up appointment, there are typically only three sentences in my chart, "Patient is well-fed, alert, and has good color" and generic stuff like that. Then I get to my seven urine test results and they all have the same specific gravity listed. What? Save yourself heartache and go to a different clinic. My efforts to reach this office by phone were met with frustration, long waits, and inane music. Calls were forwarded to an answering service during normal business hours (not the lunch hour). When the answering service finally reached the office, I was told that the office was closing early and that I would need to call back after the weekend. The individual on the office phone refused to make an appointment and did not want to take my phone number. Even my vet's office doesn't treat people this way. I had multiple issues after my previous doctor did not remove all of my endometriosis. I also have interstitial cystitis with ulcers. I have been to multiple doctors in both urology and gynecology. So far Dr. Dunn has been amazing. Like a warrior! She took the time to get to know my issues during our first visit - something that often feels rushed with most doctors. She also acknowledged my pain - something that many doctors also don't do! I felt heard! She is very well learned in the area of women's issues and prescribed things that other doctors have failed to do. She rushed to surgery to address my issues and I have surgery on Monday. I will report back to see how follow up goes but I expect it to be excellent. read more

After being seen by a more than a few providers throughout southern Colorado and getting no where I opted to do my own research and see where that got me. And I am so beyond words thankful to have come in touch with Terry Dunn. She is the only provider who made me feel at ease, offered me a surgical plan of care-that that no other doctor did. I didn't feel pressured, but I knew that with me being so young this was the best option for me, and was shocked that my diagnosis was not discovered sooner. Somehow, even though there are literally no other patients, they will make you wait half an hour in your room (twice). Then I was rushed through my appt, and pushed out the door. Overall, I'm leaving my second appointment in tears because I felt that I wasn't respected or listened to. Go somewhere else. read more

I went through a bit of a scare medically and I came to this practice for a second opinion. I was not able to see Dr. Dunn, but I did get in to see her NP Merry. She was really great and assured me that I had other options besides surgery. I did have to have some pretty expensive ultrasounds done, but in the end I now know that I am fine. read more

I have been here 3 times. The last two times my wait was almost two hours and she sent a student in to talk to me and then came in. Then my medication was not called into the pharmacy and then I called and then they said they would call in it. This happened three times! So today I said one last try......after sitting there in the exam room for an hour, I decided to leave. The medical assistant never came back in, I had to seek her out and then they all stand around talking like it's no big deal. This Doctor is either overbooking (obviously) or has no regard for her patients. I WILL NEVER GO THERE AGAIN. BTW I never got my medication last time. read more

I would definitely not recommend this office to anyone looking for any kind of gynecological care. It came recommended to me but I regret ever returning to this office. I have had a couple of very intimate procedures done there and both times there were students in the room with Dr. Dunn. The students, the nurse nor Dr. Dunn felt it was necessary to introduce them to me even though they were planning on getting a very good look at areas not even boyfriends have seen. The first time I came into the office for an actual procedure, the people at the front desk were incredibly rude and they didn't make me feel like a valued customer. The second major procedure I had, I went into the office and they demanded rudely that I pay an outstanding bill. Two weeks before, I had mailed in a credit card payment. Now, three weeks after the appointment, I'm getting charged again because apparently it took them 5 weeks to go through their mail. I know that it doesn't take the USPS 5 weeks to deliver mail to a location that's less than 15 miles away. I also wanted to point out that I had to book an appointment to see Dr. Dunn four weeks in advance. I am a healthcare professional and every single time I meet a new patient, I introduce myself and explain what my role in their care will be. I was shocked to find that a gynecological office doesn't seem to find this important. Gynecological visits are unpleasant and exceedingly uncomfortable for a lot of women. This office did a terrible job of putting me at ease and trying to make these appointments more dignified for me. If you like being filled with anger and anxiety every time you go to or deal with your doctor's office, then come here for your gynecological care. Otherwise, go somewhere where you won't just be another paycheck and you're viewed as a person who deserves respect. read more

I was so turned off by the rude and unprofessionalism of the front desk receptionist, Samantha that I won't be coming in for my appointment. While experiencing a potentially dangerous and concerning issue - she showed absolutely zero concern, compassion or responsibility. Because my original appointment was still weeks away when I asked what I should do regarding my current issues and if I could speak with a nurse practitioner, etc. she said that they did not have one and that the only person I could speak with was the doctor and that she was in surgery. She never offered to have the doctor call me. When it was clear that she would not be passing my information on to the doctor or squeeze me in for an urgent appointment - i was at a loss and asked if I should go to the emergency room. She replied with a "yes, I guess you can go to the emergency room as there is nothing we can do as you are not our patient." Wow! I wanted to be a patient! Not only was this potentially negligent but not how a new client/patient would want to be treated to discuss such personal health issues. Very disappointed. read more

Dr, Terry Dunn rescued me from my overactive, leaking bladder, and she rebuilt the area where my bladder is positioned, She installed an implant I cannot feel (unless I want to), which is highly effective at regulating and normalizing urinary urge. She is a sharp, accurate, immensely-talented, to-the-point, impeccably-principled, thorough, exceptionally kind, gentle, sympathetic and highly skilled, She told me what she would do and she did it. I was well-prepared and informed, and never rushed, and every question I could possibly have was answered. I was only in the hospital one night. She has a friendly, great staff that serves her well and is very kind to patients. I am 63 and I no longer suffer from an overactive bladder. I don't wear diapers anymore! I don't leak anymore! I feel so much happier and much, much more free and youthful again. I HIGHLY, HIGHLY recommend Dr, Dunn to anyone suffering from overactive bladder and its ensuing problems. I NEVER knew until right after my surgery that relief IS possible, and I thank Dr, Dunn from the bottom of my heart-to-the-top for my new life. Dr. Dunn is fantastic. She is very knowledgeable and really spent time explaining things to me. The office is located outside busy downtown Denver so it made it easier to get to with no traffic and easy parking in front of the building. After having surgery with a different Urogynecologist, I had a lot of trouble with my sling and was having serious bladder issues. I went to see doctor Dunn. Her office staff was very warm and she was so helpful. She got me in for surgery quickly and was very available throughout the whole process, answering every question I had before and after the operation. She even gives her surgery patients her cell phone number so they can directly contact her on the night or weekends. If you need bladder surgery, go see Dr. Dunn. I wish I would have had my operation done here in the first place!! read more
