I did not have a good experience here. I took two of my daughters here, years ago, with the idea that if they were being seen by a pediatrician for medical needs, they should be seeing a pediatric dentist for their dental needs. The office is nice. Brightly colored, toys, etc in the waiting room. Everything in the exam area is kid sized and brightly colored w/lots of toys/prizes for the visit. One thing I initially did not like was the policy that the parent could go w/the kid on the initial visit, but after that, the kids go by themselves. I understand the thinking behind it, kids may behave better w/out their parents hovering over. My kids were quite young at the time though and I believe they needed an advocate since their communication skills were limited. Anywho, on our third visit, they called me back for an extra talk. Turns out my then 2 1/2 yr old had some cavities. She also had some stains from iron medicine she had to take as a 1 1/2 yr old. The Doc told me they would need to admit her to the hospital, and put her under general anesthetic all to the tune of a couple thousand dollars. He didn't offer alternatives and said it couldn't be done in office. WTF??? After going home and feeling like the worlds worst mom for a day, I called my current dentist and set up an appt for a second opinion. When we went in, I told her about the other experience and how I thought it was pretty drastic for a two yr old. She agreed and said we could prob take care of the cavities in two office visits and that the stains really didn't need to be messed w/as they were baby teeth and would fall out anyway, purely cosmetic. In the end, she was able to take care of the cavities w/laughing gas in ONE office visit. All covered by insurance. I am so so so glad that I didn't put my child in the hospital, with serious anesthetic for a few cavities and I am very disappointed in Dr. Christensen for suggesting it as the only option. Be aware of your options when seeking ANY medical or dental care! read more

Our family went to Denver for vacation last month and my five year old daughter (full of energy) slipped and bumped her mouth on the concrete, pushing back her two front teeth to a scary degree. We were in a bit of a panic but after reaching out to some friends in the area felt it was best that we take her to a pediatric dental office to have her mouth checked. Thank the lord for Foothills Pediatric Dentistry and for my friend for recommending we take her to see Dr. David! The office was impeccably clean and despite their busy schedules, were able to make time for our sweet Harper the next day. From the moment we walked in, they made Harper feel at ease and Dr. David was able to address and correct the issue all within our first visit. The only thing I'd change is having them open an office in Dallas! They made such a scary and nerve wracking moment, an easy and comfortable visit. read more

We have been seeing Dr. Ramirez since my boys were two years old. They are now 11 and 8. We were referred by my sister/niece who also has seen Dr. Christiansen since she was a little girl. She is now 16. These are always exciting trips and they love going in. The staff has always been very friendly and understanding. The doctors also have been very gentle and listened to our concerns. They are proud and confident walking back to their appointments on their own. read more

I got a tough scolding from the dentist that I was not permitted to be present in the room when my child was having a teeth cleaning. I was sitting in a chair quietly reading a magazine. Just like with elderly patients, patients who are children have a right to have adults present for decision making during medical exams. The dentist talked to me like I was an idiot. The office looks desolate from the outside but is bright and cheerful inside. The staff were helpful and processed our insurance competently. We now have a great dentist elsewhere in Louisville. read more

If I could, I would give them less. Went for a regular check for two kids, they "discovered" things that needed immediate treatment. For one kid the bill was 2.5 the estimate, and for the other one 5 times more. When I asked why, the answer was very evasive, she said she would check and get back to me. Never did. I'll never go back again. read more

As others have stated, I'm also not a fan of sending my children into the back without me. Secondly, our last visit was unpleasant. The Dr. talked down to me making me feel like a bad parent because my child had some cavities. read more

Not a big fan. The Dentist was very nice, and the office is in great shape but some of the staff is rude. It cost me 600.00 for 2 little guys to get cleanings, and trying to pay a bill is very difficult. I would not go back. read more

EXTREMELY disappointed and DR. CHRISTENSEN was terribly unprofessional. We brought both of our daughters to Foothills Pediatric Dentistry (Lafayette office) after a switch in insurance and were excited at first. The office is kid friendly and the assistants were really sweet. Unfortunately our 6 year old needed to have a couple of cavities filled - which would be a first for her. At the follow-up visit my husband asked our daughter if she wanted him to go back with her (one of us always does) and she was nervous and requested he accompany her. To that, the assistant put them in a 'conference room' and got Dr. Christensen. My husband explained to him that our daughter was a bit stressed and wanted him with her (remember this is only our 2nd time at this office and 2nd conversation with the dentist). Dr. Christensen stated it is their "policy" not to allow parents back because it can be distracting to the child. My husband assured him our daughter would not be distracted and also questioned isn't it a law that a parent/guardian be able to accompany a minor during minor medical treatments? To which he replied, ..."there will be an assistant with me..." and again, "...it is our policy..." Finally Dr. Christensen said (word for word), "IF YOU WANT YOUR SIX YEAR OLD CONTROLLING YOUR HEALTH CARE PLAN THAT'S YOUR DECISION. I UNDERSTAND YOU WANT TO GO BACK WITH HER, BUT WE DON'T DO THAT HERE - YOU CAN PICK UP HER X-RAYS AND TAKE HER SOMEWHERE ELSE. GOOD LUCK" And Dr. Christensen WALKED OUT OF THE MEETING. WE DID NOT SIGN ANYTHING OR SEE ANYTHING THAT STATED SAID "POLICY". We got her x-rays and won't be going back. Any health care professional that refuses parents accompany minors for procedures is a big red flag to me. Add that to his unprofessional tone/demeanor and we will not be recommending Foothills Pediatric Dentistry to ANYONE. read more

If you have a kiddo with special needs, these guys are the place to go. They are patient and quick with my son who has a significant disability, and get the job done. We rarely have to wait, and they remember us visit to visit even though they have a ton of patients. We have had to do extensive dental surgeries in the past, and they both went well. read more

We have been going to Foothills pediatrics for several years, first the Lafayette location and now the longmont location (for convenience). We have been very happy here- they take children's dental health seriously but they are kind and efficient. Since my kids are prone to cavities, we visit every 4 months to stay on top of it and once we got things under control, we've had no issues since. We have seen very little staff overturn as long as we've gone here and we see Dr. Christensen everytime. I would recommend this practice. read more

We have been nothing but pleased with Foothills Pediatric Dentistry! My four girls have been patients here for almost 10 years now. My girls range from ages 3 to 9 years old. They get so excited every time we go to their office--even my three year old gets excited! It is just a fun, comfortable office and my children sense that. We are always greeted by the friendly front desk staff and they always welcome my girls. Also, the assistants come out to greet us with a smile. Dr. Christiansen is very knowledgable and takes the time to explain my daughter's care and treatment to me after each visit. As a mom, I value this practice for their integrity, care, and the value they place on making my children feel comfortable. My daughter recently visited this office and participated in the "free under 3" program,. We had a great experience! The front office staff was very friendly and our wait time was minimal. Once we were taken back, the staff made her feel comfortable and tried to lessen her anxiety. She had her teeth cleaned and checked by the dentist....all while watching a movie! I was impressed by how well both the assistant and the dentist interacted with such a young child. We will definitely return to this office in the future! read more

I rarely write reviews, but I felt compelled to write this given a few of the reviews written here about Dr Ramirez. My son is a fourth grader and has had to have a general cleaning and two cavities filled by Dr Ramirez. We've had nothing short of a wonderful experience with this dentist. Dr. Ramirez acts very professionally and has a good demeanor and sense of humor with kids which really put my son at ease ( much appreciated as he was understandably feeling anxious about the fillings). I've been present the entire time at both visits with my son for the complete duration of both treatments. It has never been suggested that I wait for him separately while he go in for dental treatment alone. We live in Boulder and I'm happy to take the extra time to drive to lafayette because my son actually looks forward to going to the dentist. After having a terrible experience with a dental office here in Boulder, I've felt very pleased to find a pediatric dental office for my son that I feel knows what their doing and my son enjoys going to. I went in for my three year old about a month ago. I should have listened to the review before me. They have a nice office with lots of prizes for the kiddos. When Dr Christensen came in he wasnt very nice. Only made eye contact with me as if I was the only one there. Never really addressed my husband. He also right away suggested my childs four front teeth pulled in an OR with no teeth in her mouth on the front until the adult ones came in. I felt horrible! I was really pressured into signing an agreement for treatment but I refused. When I asked what my insurance was getting billed for they stated for an exam and cleaning. I had to almost yell at the receptionist because my daughter never had a cleaning that day.Which only showed me they didnt know what they were talking about. I seeked a second opinion and was told my childs teeth were able to be saved! Do not go to Dr C he apparently doesnt have a passion for teeth anymore nonetheless for small kiddos. There is a better group of pediatric dentistry here in Lafayette that are willing to work harder for all that money. read more

Don't go here the staff is rude and If you complain to them that you were treated badly they could care less. I missed my child's appointment simply a mix up with appointments which was my fault and the scheduling lady called me and told me that I may never schedule him an appointment again. And hung up so I called later that day to cancel and other two kids appointments and they said they were already canceled and said ok then bye. So I called back to let them know how rude they had been an she was like well I apologize and said that's just our policy. Then said ok well sorry bye. It's like they don't care. Incredible!!! I have a son with special needs and they are so wonderful with him. He was unable to do xrays at first and they were patient with him to the point that he can now do them no problem as they never pushed him or made him do anything against his will when he was younger. We have been going here for a few years for both my kids and today my son needed a baby tooth extracted :( I thought there was NO WAY Dr. Christensen would be able to do it but I said he could go ahead and try... 20 minutes later my son comes out with gauze in his mouth and was actually smiling. I was shocked. This is the place to go if you have kids who need any dental treatment in Boulder county- plus they have an office in longmont and lafayette so even though we normally go to longmont we were able to be seen in lafayette as there was an open appointment there. I was 5 minutes late to an appt for my daughter's teeth cleaning (The dentist office suggests she gets 3 - 4 annually, so this was an extra one) and the office called me to see where I was. I was within a minute of the office and they told me they would be cancelling my daughter's appt. As I was on the phone with them, I pulled into parking and they still said they would cancel her appt. I walked into the office 6 minutes late and they still said it was too late for her appt. This was all done by 7 minutes after the appt. start time. Not even a 10 minute window and when we were standing right there! My daughter is in middle school, which is close to 20 minutes away. I had to turn around and bring her back. Loss of appt., loss of school time, loss of my work time, loss of my driving expense, and major frustration. I am leaving this practice after years being a patient there with both of my children. We actually really like Dr. Ramirez, his staff and the usual office crew, and my daughter trusted the office (she dreads going to the dentist), SO I am not sure if they have a new Office Manager or what but I have NEVER had such a ridiculous cancellation for any doctor or dentist in my life. Usually these guys are great. We have been going there for many years, and I have certainly had to wait for them for appts. Unacceptable and awful customer service today. They could have shortened her cleaning as it was an extra one too. I am taking my daughter to a new practice, which she is upset about too. I am seriously disappointed and frustrated. read more
