John's Precision Auto Repair is not a shop I would recommend to anyone. I had to have repair work…read moredone to my 2017 F-150 truck. I took my truck to the shop and received a quote. A couple days later the insurance adjuster came out and looked at my truck, he agreed with the estimate and made no changes. I called John's to set up an appointment for repair. I was told to bring it two weeks later and that it would be a six day repair job. I took my truck for repair at 8:00 am on Monday, January 18. My truck should have been ready on Monday, January 25. However, it was not ready. At that point, I was told they were waiting for parts. I called back multiple times over the next several days to ask when the truck would be ready and it seemed as each time, I was given a different date and told different parts that they were waiting on. Finally, on Friday, February 5, I was told that I could pick up my truck, but there were still three parts they were waiting on and I could take it for the weekend, but would need to return it on Monday afternoon to get the other parts put on. So 15 days after dropping my truck off for a 6 day repair, I picked it up. After pick up, I discovered that the inside handle on the rear door would not open the door and there was overspray all over my truck including the windshield. (Just a side note, the door should not have been touched, the repair was to the bed of the truck). I returned on Monday afternoon February 8th to get the top bed rail snapped on, the F-150 sticker put on and the cover for the license plate light put on. I informed them about the door and they fixed it. Then on Wednesday, February 10th, I received an email from the insurance adjuster informing me that he had just received an invoice for an additional payment of $1600.00. The adjuster stated that John's did not ask for or receive prior approval for this supplement. The adjustor told me not to worry about it, that he would take care of it. I replied to the adjustor that John's had never said anything to me about additional charges. My recommendation is that you do use John's Precision Auto for any auto body repair.

Was a sun roof problem and directed them to look there. When we went to pick up the car Ronnie was in hospital. His son delivered the car to me. What we got was now a wet sunroof headliner that was already sagging. When I pointed it out to him, his response was "We are not in the sunroof business." When I reminded him how much they were paid to fix the problem, his response was: "I wouldn't have paid that much for this car" and he walked away. I swear I am not making this up. I wrote a letter to Ronnie and never heard back. I took the car to another body shop and they pointed out some other problems. Seems the detailer used too powerful vacum to try to pull moisture from the door panels and now the fabric in the door panels is sagging. Headliner job wasn't that great either. All in all, I spent a lot of money and only one of serveral problems was corrected right. I value good service and will write wonderful reviews when I receive it. and when I experience this kind of poor service others should know too. Ronnie works hard. His son will ruin the business if he takes over. I suspect Ronnie was never given my letter--he is the kind that would have called me back.

This is a hard one to write. I do NOT give bad reviews. I just don't. I loved this place, the…read morepeople, and referred so many people here over the years. I'm very sorry that I did. We've taken no less than six German vehicles here. They've grown and gotten busier. Change is NOT always good. Things get missed. People get distracted. Customers get overlooked. I took my GL in for a hard downshift and was told in no uncertain terms what it needed - a transmission service would fix the issue. The "diagnosis" from the tech (which I have a photo of) showed no issues - green all the way. Paid nearly $650 and got the vehicle back - with the exact same hard downshift - NOTED in the tech's notes. I have a photo of that as well. I spoke to April about the issue, that the hard downshift was still present. She said it may need a second $650 transmission service. I asked point blank if anything was wrong with the transmission and was told no, dismissively. Needless to say, the hard downshift did not magically repair itself. I asked around for a reputable Mercedes tech and was provided the name of Carolina Auto Direct in Lincolnton. I also got quite a few similar stories from people about Master Tech during these conversations. Carolina Auto Direct quickly diagnosed the issue - a solenoid was needed! $1700 for the repair, which of course includes a transmission service. The $650 I paid to Master Tech after giving them THOUSANDS of dollars over the years stings. It hurts even more that I tried to get them to do the right thing and give me a refund and got a whole lot of denials. Lesson learned. Thankfully, the issue is resolved before it turned into something worse - thanks to Carolina Auto Direct, where our Mercedes vehicles will be going from this point forward.
