I honestly wanted to give this place another chance because I had been here before with my mom. The…read morefirst time, my nails came out great and our pedicures were nice. However, there was already one thing I disliked: they do your nails while you're getting your pedicure, so you're basically reaching over the side of the pedicure chair while someone works on your hands. You can't properly relax or even use the massage chair because your arms are in the way. Unfortunately, this visit was MUCH worse.
My mom and I both got the Signature Pedicure and both got our nails done. From the beginning, communication was extremely difficult because very little English was spoken, which made it hard to understand what they were saying, what we were getting, and what we were being charged for.
When we were choosing colors, my mom found a polish color she really liked and asked if she could use the same color on both her toes and fingernails. The man helping her took the polish bottle directly out of her hand, put it back on the shelf, and pointed her toward the nail color samples instead. My mom asked if that meant she couldn't have the same color on her nails, and he said she could, but then had her choose a similar color from the samples. In the end, the colors did NOT match.
Her pedicure was also terrible. The dead skin on her feet was barely scrubbed off, despite us paying for the Signature Pedicure. We were supposed to get extra massage time with that service, but her technician barely massaged her feet at all. Her flip-flops were also covered in some kind of dirty product when she went to put them back on afterward.
Then, while my mom was getting her nails done, the man doing her nails commented that her fingers were "fat" and said that this made it harder to get the shape the same, followed by saying that the shape he was doing would make her fingers look "less fat." This was completely unnecessary and extremely hurtful. My mom was already unhappy with her pedicure, couldn't properly relax in the chair, didn't get the color she originally wanted, and then had someone make a comment about her body. It almost brought her to tears.
The service also felt incredibly rushed and disorganized. While the man was doing my mom's nails, another employee came over and told him that his next appointment was there. We were literally still in the middle of our appointment. He then said he "should" do another coat but that it was too sticky, so he wasn't going to, and left to work on his other client.
On my side, the woman doing MY nails was also repeatedly being called away from my appointment. There was a man at the front desk who I believe may have been the manager, and at one point he was sitting in the massage chair while customers needed help. Instead of helping them himself, he would call over the woman who was doing my nails, making her stop working on my nails to go help other customers. So I'm sitting there paying for a nail service while my nail technician keeps having to stop and leave to handle other things. The entire place felt like they were trying to get people in and out as quickly as possible instead of actually taking the time to give customers the service they paid for.
The communication issues were also pretty extreme. My mom was offered a drink and asked for a Diet Coke. They couldn't understand what she was asking for, so they brought out two different sodas and had her point to which one she wanted. Even something as simple as ordering a drink became difficult.
The woman doing my mom's pedicure also barely communicated with her at all. The only thing she really said to her was "gel?" asking if she wanted gel polish. She didn't, because it was a $20 upcharge. When the technician needed my mom to move her feet in or out of the water, she would literally smack/tap the side of her leg or foot instead of communicating with her.
As for my nails, I initially thought they looked good when I left. But after getting home and actually looking at them normally, I noticed that one nail is SO crooked that when I hold my hand naturally with my fingers together, that nail literally pokes into the nail next to it. It's bad enough that I'm considering going somewhere else just to have that one nail redone.
And then there's the pricing. You don't really know what you're being charged for until you're at the register and they've already added everything up. There were so many little additional charges that it honestly felt like getting a hospital bill where random small charges keep appearing. I got a full set with a cat-eye effect and a $47 pedicure, and after a 20% tip, the total was around $150. For that amount of money, I expected much better service, communication, and attention to detail.
Looking back, I feel like we should have just walked out at the beginning when the polish was taken out of my mom's hand and put back on the shelf. That should have been my warning.
We will not be going back in the future.
