I was very disappointed in the massage. I was given the massage as a gift from my fiance and when I arrived I notice the price we paid was not worth it. On top of it being a Groupon he paid what there asking which was half price of 29.00. The manager was sitting at the front was not too friendly. I told him I was there for my maternity massage. When I was escorted in the back I walked past a wall then there were three beds and a man getting a massage. The manager tells me put my stuff here and walks away. I stood there and he just said sit. Another man came and told me lay down and put my feet in the water which was extremely hot and he began with massage. He started rubbing oil on my fave through my hair and I felt uncomfortable. He didn't understand English and I just prayed it would be over. He then massaged my arms and then went to my feet. He spent more time on my left foot then the other. I wanted to tell him no oil seeing I have bad exzema and all it did was irritate my skin even more. He then said ok and walked away. I got my stuff and was very upset that that was the massage. I more or less went for relaxation and yo have my back massaged seeing I am 8 months pregnant. Throughout the massage I heard a man on the other side of another wall snoring and then they start talking. I was uncomfortable with having a towel over my face and hearing people moving around me but not seeing what was going on. The gentleman next to me left and another one came in and was telling them not to do something and they did not understand him. When I got to the front the guy stood there and the manager asked how it was I said it was not what I expected and was going to walk away. He asked if I was tipping. Truly I did not know I had to seeing this was a gift and thought it was included and I was not satisfied. I was going to give him 2.00 out of my pocket and He then said they only work off tips and I said here's 5.00 I'm never coming back. He said a tip is 8 or 10 dollars. I wasn't sure what to expect but my friend told me about this place and how much she and her husband loved it. I went in with an open mind and came out feeling incredibly loose and free from kinks! They were not particularly gentle and I had to ask them to lighten it up a couple of times as I've had back surgery, but I was really impressed at how they seem to find every knot and get rid of it. In all my life, I have never come across such poor customer service. I felt humilited when I walked out. The front desk person was a jerk. After I told him that the massage was way too rough, he criticised me and told me I didnt know what a deep tissue massage. I then told him I thought I was getting a private room and felt a little decieved. And he further criticised me. I then told him there were other massage places that cost the same price but offer a private room, to which he called me a liar. As I was walking out, he told me it was wrong of me not to leave a tip and as I tipped the kind massouse, he told me basically not to come back again. The owner was a very nice guy. I am glad I came in here. Also they are relatively cheap. I don't think it was necessarily the best massage but you get what you pay for. BUT they really did an AMAZING job on my feet. I was very happy about that. I also got a facial. I want to point out that we specifically asked the owner if they will be extracting all the black heads and cleaning out all the pores and he said yes they will. But they DID NOT do this process. I love this place! I went right before I went Vegas & I promise you I was still feeling the effect when I got there. I use to go every off day during the week to keep the stress away but slowed down. Came here with a friend and had a good massage. Full body, the foot massage was my favorite. They are rough on you and it is painful but they ask you through out if your okay and you can tell them to be more gentle. Overall good massage. I have arthritis and back issues. I have not had any flare ups until this morning (morning after massage). We were literally beat up. I do not recommend this massage on anyone, especially a woman. I was tempted to disregard because the price for the massage was unbelievably low as they were running a special and besides...what would they know about a good massage at their age. And I get my massages at Mario Tricoci. Well, for that price I thought I'd give it a try and WOW! We gave 4 of our physically fit adult children a Foot Magic gift certificate and they too could not believe the service. No, it is not a private room, but its' quiet ambience and towel over your eyes gives you all you need for a serene experience. The special price is still going on. Put on some work out clothes and give it a try. And tip at least $10....Believe me, there is no where you can give your body a better experience for under $50. P.S. I have been coming to foot magic at least twice a month for over a year. I LOVE it. I have had almost every massage therapist there, and each time I go the service is consistent. The owner is very accommodating and appreciative of feedback to better the business. If there is a specification or request, the owner will relay that to the service provider in Chinese. The closest location for this type of Chinese reflexology massage was in Schaumburg, so I was glad that this place opened up near me. Since then I've been going every week and it has been relieving my shoulder/back stress and helping exfoliate my feet during this cold winter. Can't beat the $29 deal for an hour full body massage. They soak your feet in hot water and the towels used are soft, it's very soothing. The massage therapists I've had are great and the owners are nice! I called and made an appointment for 4pm. I get there and at first it's like they couldn't find my appointment. Then they tell me they don't have anyone available. I called and made an appointment. Then they tell me I can wait a half hour and that's because someone else came to their appointment a half hour late. Why would they accept that other appointment a half hour late and expect that I would be fine waiting for a half hour! I have a 2 year old at home napping and arranged to have someone stay with him for a couple hours so I could run my errands and get a massage. They need to get it together. We have been back multiple times. The place is serene and while not 100% quiet we have experienced very few if any noises on our visits. The massage is very relaxing. First Thing you need to know about this place is they give a very deep tissue massage, which is a good thing if that is what you want and can handle. I was in pain during the massage but put up with it because of a language barrier, but again the masseur was very very nice. The man at the door is another story, very abrupt and not friendly in the least but the very nice staff makes up for that. You will be asked to remove your shirt your shoes and any accessories, I was surprised at the shirt removal but ok with it. they also will unsnap your bra and lower your pants with a towel for your back massage. a little uncomfortable at first but ok. the thing that really creep-ed me out was when we were leaving you could see the cc cameras on the computer monitor at the front desk so the creepy mean guy could watch you and everyone else being massaged and in some state of undress. for that reason alone I will never go back. Great massage. Great price. Used a Groupon but the price is the same! A very different experience as it is a low light common room with a few paper folding screens separating people. I went at a slow time but be prepared to have clients being on a table three or four feet from you. I'm pretty modest/borderline uptight so if I think it is not that bad, believe me, it's worth it for the price. The difference obviously is in a high end salon someone is talking you through everything and super discreet with a sheet covering you every second. Here you have only a towel to cover your upper body (for the second half) and no communication which is unexpected on a first visit because you're wondering how it is going to go and you just kind of go with their motioning. This is a deep massage. Major pressure which I needed to loosen my back up but like I said there is no pre talk so if you have something really bothering you like an injury I don't think I would risk it or I would talk to someone while booking it. If you go when you're feeling pretty well, you will feel great after. For women, I would recommend wearing a cami and taking off an extra outer layer when you get there. There's no separate changing area so that's a good way to go. I also wore a stretchy skort which was loose but still kept me covered. You will be asked to slip the shirt down while under the towel so they can get your back. It's a little awkward but not terrible if you think about and plan what to wear. I just got home from foot magic and due to the experience I had from the moment I walked in the door, I feel compelled to write this review so as to warn those of us, like me that trust yelp reviews. First of all, the "owner" at the front desk is completely rude and very unprofessional. He knew on the phone that I just wanted a foot massage-that's it! When i walked in about 15 minutes later, he said NOTHING to me and after a minute or so, I had to tell him who I was and what I was there for. He didn't even bother to answer me or even nod. I then asked if they had an affiliate in the city and he became irate at me. A few minutes later, someone came to get me. I went in and needed the restroom. No one could understand what I needed and I am trilingual so I continued to proceed to the back of the place as someone pointed it to me. I seemed to be walking into an abyss and when I opened up the wrong door, someone immediately came back and closed the door on me. I finally found the rest room. Then, i was instructed to lie down and take off my top. I refused. Again, i was there only for a foot massage. Someone had to come over to translate and then they left and let my feet soak for almost 10 minutes until I sat up in wonderment and asked what was going on. The massage lady was nice. However, i have had many foot massage and this was one style that I am not sure if it was even a type(such as reflexology -thai, etc). Regardless, two stars because the lady was nice and because my feet were so cramped that I can only hope to feel a bit better with some work on them. As I was leaving, I went to pay with a credit card. As I handed my card to the owner, he heavily sighed as if paying with credit is verboten and then instructed me that I needed to give a 10 dollar tip on top of that. You are telling ME to tip? Who does he think he is? The only reason I went here is because I couldn't go back to work another week without my feet being attended to and my regular place was booked up.
