DONT BE DECEIVED BY BELKS coupons that say extra 20% off. Every register in the store shoots them…read moreout when you buy something but the truth is they can be worthless, a gimmick. I purchased $170.00 from the fragrance DEPT. The next day I remembered I had a 20% off coupon so I went back. I was told the coupon can't be used for fragrances. Look very closely at the coupon picture and it doesn't say that, neither on the front or back. What's so bad about it is it's says regular or sales purchases. However the fine print says normal exclusions apply. If the fragrances are excluded why was I given a coupon with my receipt from the frangrance cashier in the fragrance DEPT. She knew I couldn't use the coupon in her DEPT. So why not tell me that, be honest or tell me it's good in "other" dept's. A rip off to get you to come back another day, buy some more fragrances only to be told the coupon is no good in that DEPT. Belk you fooled me once you will not fool us twice. SHAME ON YOU

Poor customer service and tricky coupons! I'm finished with this store. I had a very bad experience…read morethis morning trying to purchase a pair of pants. I had a $10.00 discount coupon from Belk for my birthday month and tried use it this morning. Well, I had to use my Belk credit/rewards card to redeem the coupon. Next, in order to get promotion discount (40% off) I have to download a coupon from Belk app onto my phone and use my credit/rewards card as well. I had in hand a $50.00 gift card that wasn't able to be redeemed towards this purchase. Too many tricks and turns. I'm done with Belk.

So unorganized... and why would they price shoes at $47 freaking dollars? 2 pairs of Nikes both…read morepriced at $47 each... yes, decent shape but you can get a new pair at the Nike Outlet for about that ......The main manager has always been rude... . There was a certain electronic piece of equipment I was interested in, but of course they don't know if it works and it didn't have a charger. I know the ridiculous no-return policy but I asked one of the managers if I could get a better deal because they couldn't tell me if it really worked. This was about 15 minutes after I heard another customer ask about a discount and she gladly gave him one, saying, "I'm going to need your friend today", but when she came to the resgister for my request, all of the sudden is , "we don't do discounts". I told her that I just heard her give another customer a discount and she became very defensive saying "that was a different situation ". So then, why LIE to my face. And lastly.. FIX YOUR AC gotta be 85 degrees in there , people walking around just sweating in there! ... if you're selling used shoes for $50 then you should have plenty of $ to make your customers comfortable I have lived all over being a military wife.... never seen this "bin" system. Other states' Goodwills that I have shopped at are organized, have a return policy, have at least 1 day out of the week for military discounts (also days tor senior citzens and teachers discounts), and treat all their customers well... wth wrong with this one. I would highly recommend donating your items to the Fordham House where people can get things they need for free. I just donated 3 large bags to them

I visit goodwill stores regularly but I have found the GCF in Kinston and Goldsboro have very old…read moreclothes and hardly any new like pieces. I don't believe it's because the donations are slow, I think it's because they don't have a rotation system of clothing with price decreases. Other Goodwills use color tags and eventually the clothing rotates to 1/2 price. That way the clothes are always rotating. If there is a blouse that is $4 today even if the blouse is 20 years old, it will eventually leave the store because the buyer will not mind paying half price for a 20 year old top. However, because GCF prices are static (not reduced), the old clothes remain longer, eventually offering an old smell to the store and the rest is history. A top that is 25 years old will cost $3.99 and a top that is newer will cost the same. The older tops "will remain" the longest unless vintage clients shop more. The GCF management decision makers aren't marketeers apparently but may be stuck in the 70s market strategies. However, it is learned from many stores who listened to paradigms ( an example or pattern, a model) fail to fall into the pattern of disaster or collapse. However,Sears, fell into collapse. They continue to have clothing for one market(older crowd) which eventually was replaced with online shopping but the young crowd was still shopping. When younger people saw the clothing they went elsewhere. The patten is sell to the customers not sell "FOR " the customers. GCF sells beat up shoes, tattered handbags, the men's suits are ancient and the shelves are full of junk knickknacks. Like Sears, they think people will continue to buy clothes sitting on their racks for months upon months. There is a worldview of methodologies how thrift stores thrive and are successful. It would behoove GCF to review some of these systems. I will continue to find thrift stores that relinquished old and smelly clothing to the trash or discount them. I have even heard of stores having complete 1/2 price days just to get rid of static old items.. I am sure quilters would love that day..
