Taco Bamba literally never disappoints!! This location is large with a bar and an extensive menu…read more My hubby loves it here and lucky for me!! We always order way too many tacos but never regret it because then we have a meal for later we cannot wait to eat again. The coco loco shrimp taco was to die for I wish we had gotten more of them. I might've actually been able to just eat those tacos. I always go and grab a few different specialty tacos that sound good and then split them with my hubby. The pastor (pork and pineapple) taco is a safe bet that I always have to order. The taco with the Chicharrones I've never seen was rly unique and the right amount of crunch and flavor. I really have to shout out the garlic wings!! I don't know if they have these at every location, but you absolutely must get them if you're at the Springfield location. The sauce in the mix of herbs together is amazing !! Oh and don't forget the sauce flight!! bonus points if you ask for the pineapple habanero sauce that they keep behind the cash register!!

Happy Hour (4-7pm) Review on a Friday afternoon…read more Plenty of parking in shared parking lot. I didn't know they had a bar and was a sit down- I always thought taco bamba was a fast food, grab & go. But they have a bar and plenty of tables and table service! We got the classic margarita, mango faux-garita, and Paloma. My classic margarita had a gnat in it but they remade it...I don't think it was the same drink, but good nonetheless. The flautas were a little dry but the nachos and the other fries were delicious. We wanted to get the chocolate chip churro cookie but they were all out. Our waitress was the only one waiting tables and making drinks and running all over the place- all while keeping a smile on her face- hats off to her! Would return! Especially for happy hour!

You know this place is good if my grandma and great aunt gave it their stamp of approval. They said…read morethe kare kare in particular tasted the best and most authentic. This definitely is a small, family business and you really feel that Filipino hospitality. They were very patient and communicative with my aunt ordering. The portions and prices were great. I will definitely come back to bring my parents here. I'm glad I found my new go to Filipino restaurant. One thing I will suggest is a separate menu we can take to a table or something with larger font. The menus on the screens are difficult to reach even from the counter.

I was craving Filipino food, but one thing I've noticed is that a lot of Filipino spots close…read morepretty early. It's located in a strip shopping center, so parking is super easy and accessible, and the restaurant itself is very easy to find. Walking in, the space is extremely clean, well-lit, and nicely decorated. Now let's talk about the real highlight: the variety. They have dinner plates, bowl options, and à la carte items. I went with one of my favorites, the lechon. They were out of the roasted version, but the staff recommended the fried pork instead, and it did not disappoint. I came in around 7:30, and they close at 8, so I was trying to be mindful and not hold them up. But the woman at the counter was incredibly kind and told me not to rush at all--"you're already inside, take your time." That level of hospitality really stood out. She even took the time to walk me through the menu, which I appreciated, even though I'm already familiar with Filipino food. The food itself? Amazing. The lechon was perfectly crispy, flavorful, and cooked just right. The portion size was generous, and it came with two Lumpia that were hot, fresh, and delicious. It also included a soda, which made it feel like a complete, satisfying meal. Overall, this place is a 10/10. Great food, great portions, and even better customer service. I'd highly recommend stopping by.

Spectacular, no notes. Had to take it home for some privacy…read more Rice cooked perfectly, chicken juicy and absolutely delicious, mac and cheese homey and nostalgic. The mac and cheese was seasoned so nicely with just a little bit of kick to it. Their sauces are also delicious my little brother was spooning some from one of their sauce cups straight into his mouth. Ive never before been so satisfied with, essentially, chicken and rice before. Im mad at myself for not trying it sooner. Going to have to try their other options

At the time, I was pretty underwhelmed and said I might eventually give them another try once they err around a bit longer. Well, several years later, I unknowingly did, and I'm updating my review to four stars! Though 4.5 is more fitting! Last night, I attended a birthday party and we were TEARING the food up! The attached video is literally from the aftermath. After finishing my first plate, I asked where the food was from and was shocked when they said Jammin Island BBQ in Springfield Mall. I immediately remembered my old review. This experience was completely different. The curry chicken was tender and delicious, the jerk chicken was moist and tender with just the right amount of spice, the rice and peas were delicious, the cabbage was flavorful and perfectly cooked, and the plantains were on point! I can't speak to whether the difference was because this was catering or simply how much has changed over the years, but I was very impressed with everything I tried. I'm glad I got a chance to experience Jammin Island BBQ again, especially without even realizing it!

I visited this food truck at the Springfield Town Center festival event. I came straight to yelp to…read morereview and shocked to see that it hasn't been reviewed in a while. Let me start with the wonderful service of the workers. She was so kind and helpful. Now the food.. omg. I'm front North Carolina so I know southern food. The catfish was well seasoned and even though she didn't have tartar sauce, which is a staple for me with catfish, I didn't need it! I also got the green beans and Mac. Both were also amazing. I finished it off with her banana pudding cake which was a different take on banana pudding but still delicious. If you see this truck out don't hesitate to get it asap! How can I forget the price point, too. $15 for a plate that's packed to the max.

I would like to preference my thoughts by acknowledging I am from the south and grew up eating soul…read morefood daily!!! Now, while the servers with Staceys Superior Soul Food were incredibly kind and accommodating, it doesn't change the fact that the food was a bit soulless on arrival. The ideal dish from a soul food menu is prepared with various spices. This not just goes well with the meat dishes but also adds on to the overall taste and aroma of the food. My expectations are always higher when I see restaurants with "Superior" Soul Food in their title because of the history of the term "soul food" refers to the traditional food prepared by black people living in the southern part of the U.S. By no means do I believe you have to be black or from the south to prepare excellent soul food, but I would not recommend ordering "fresh" crabs or seafood from a dry climate desert state such as New Mexico; order Mexican food! But that's beside the point. Pros: The food came out hot & fresh, and the baked macaroni & cheese was creamy. Cons: Everything lacked flavor (seasoning) fried chicken, green beans, and especially the baked macaroni & cheese. The chicken wings are just a bit tiny with little meat to the bone. Everything tasted quite bland, but I want to give this business another opportunity because the family was extremely nice and it could have just been a bad day due to someone accidentally leaving all of the seasoning(s) at home. I'm rooting for this business because I want the demand for soul food to grow in NOVA, and this business has an opportunity to capture the market share. At this point, I can not personally recommend this food truck to anyone that has truly experienced the taste of SOUL FOOD! Looking forward to updating my review upon next visit.
