We were denied entry into the supermarket 10 minutes before closing. I get it. People want to go home. However, every cashier was closed up. The STORE HOURS were until 10pm! Why every associate was closed, I will not understand. At least leave one person open. That would make more sense. It was extremely unprofessional. ... Now I should be giving a review about the rotten fruits and vegetables at this location instead, but that would be too truthful--and we all know how much the truth hurts. This supermarket is a joke. This store is well organized, I wish they had more organic and natural options for their products. I work really close (down the block, I usually bring my own lunch) but when I don't have my own lunch I visit the hot food bar. They always have something good to eat, primarily home cooked Spanish food. They give you a decent serving for 4$ or a larger one for 7$... look carefully when picking so that you get fresh food. read more

When you're in Canarsie there aren't a whole lot of supermarkets to choose from Food World the outside is dirty but the the store is reasonably clean inside the prices are cheap the staff isn't very helpful but it's the only store for miles around that sells the original orange Tang it's a large supermarket with a broad selection of products if you're in Canarsie this might be your best bet for grocery shopping. read more

The good comments about this Supermarket must be from people who work for this place, because its all a lie.. Food World is horrible!!! I have gone there twice and both were bad experiences.. The 1st time I went, I brought eggs and got sick.. The 2nd time, I was trying to buy yogurt and when I checked the date on the yogurt it was expired.. smh.. I told the stock person, who clearly didnt understand English.. but he smiled and continued to stock the expired yogurts on the shelves. I hate that the only close supermarket is FoodWorld because there stuff is no good.. I miss Pathmark/Stop&shop!!! We need more options!!! read more

This place is a neighborhood gem! Always clean and well stocked. The green groceries are fresh and they usually have everything you need. I don't really buy meat here, So I can't speak to that. But this place is WAAAAAAYYY better than the nasty Golden Mango not far away on Rockaway. I always run in here to get stuff that I need. They also deliver and I believe they'll take you and your groceries home if you don't drive, instead of calling a cab. I shop between here and Shoprite...I recommend this spot... read more

This asian owned supermarket has the biggest & best selection of produce in the neighborhood. MUCH better than Pathmark! They have a connecting fish market that is not my favorite but everything else is great. Formerly a key food, they still sell key food brand products as well but it's better than most others key foods. Always have great sales! Fresh made breakfast sandwiches, roast chicken & delicious ribs at the deli & i'd NEVER normally even try ribs from supermarket. Also, there are some of the sexy men working there. This's supermarket should be removed from the neighborhood. It's very sad that pathmark and other super markets have left the neighborhood and we now have no other options on where we can buy food. I've had a few issues with this supermarket and I'm convinced that it's due to poor management and greed by management. For that reason I am always afraid of buying items that are on sale. In the past I've bought expired food and it's really upsetting. One thing that I've bought was Entenmann's blue berry muffins for my 7 year old daughter and when my child got to school she said she open her pack of muffins only to find mold on them. I've also bought bags of flour and open it and discovered weevils. That was also a sale item ! Lastly the produce section is horrendous ! The fruits seem like they've been refrigerated over night and then put back on the shelves so they loose their freshness. I've also noticed the employees cutting rotten pieces of bell peppers throwing it into the garbage then gathering the few pieces that are good and then repackaging it and selling it. The only reason I feel like most people go to this place is because Canarsie is a Caribbean neighborhood and they are one of the few supermarkets that have food that we enjoy however it isn't fresh. read more

Pretty big supermarket with a lot of variety/choices. They sell a lot of different nuts in big containers, pastries, muffins etc. The fruit and vegetables look nice and healthy. The staff are friendly and very helpful. read more

Mmmm, I don't know. I've been coming here nearly daily for 10 years. They never keep posted hours. Just seems like a very lazy business to me. The posted hours say they close at midnight. I get there at 9:35 PM and they're closed. I ask why and they say, "We close at 10:00" Well the sign says midnight, it wasn't 10:00 EITHER! read more

Nice Selection of ethnic and commercial food choices. They do need more organic selections. Lines are short and fast.
