We were very excited as were going to a restaurant after about six months due to Covid-19. We dressed up. The welcome was very warm and the deco was amazing. The food-some of it was nice. But one of the four dishes was cold and another one was the wrong order. Not a problem, we thought-these things happen. They were busy, so it took us a while to get the attention of a waiter to let them know-during which time a few ended up eating about half the cold dish. Whilst the waiter accepted that he might have misheard the order and hence got the dish wrong they still refused to replace it with the correct dish! As for the cold dish they said it had half been eaten. This was extremely disappointing and very poor customer service. I felt embarrassed, as had been recommending this place to my friends for ages- one had travelled from Shropshire. For the sake of a small bowl of dal, it left a very bad taste in our mouth, has earned Varanasi this poor review and loss of future customer. Mrs Kale ad Friends.

I am incredibly impressed with how quick they were able to bring out the food for such a large number of people without taking any orders prior the event. It's your typical deli shop serving made to order hot and cold sandwiches. They offer a variety of fillings to choose from. I've found my fav to be chicken, bacon, and avacado. It gets really rammed in here during the lunch hours and can feel chaotic. It's not as cheap as a supermarket meal deal, but is cheaper than Philpotts I'd say. Although I find the food to be pretty good, some of the women who work there are not the most friendly. One woman in particular has wrapped up my sandwiches two times without ever asking what veg I want. She is quite rude and impatient. If it weren't for the behavior of the employees I would rate this place higher.

Located at the end of Broad St, just five minutes away from Five Ways Train Station and close to several bus stops this little shop caters for the busy Birmingham worker. Whether you're an early bird wanting to grab a hot sarnie or if you're like me and you use lunch as a time to indulge yourself, then this is the place for you. I recommend any of the home-made soups! They are delicious and have perked me up on many a miserable rainy day. I went with the chicken and vegetable last week, it was piping hot and really tasty. As I went for the soup deal it included a bread roll and a piece of fruit (my late afternoon snack). What a great deal for only £2.95! They also do a good range of sandwiches and if you want to mix and match then they are more than happy to do this for you. There are a lot of different deals on so make sure you have a good look through to see which one suits you. On several visits I have seen people collecting platters and when I enquired I found out they cater for businesses and larger events like weddings and Christmas parties! Something to take a note of. As our winters seem to be getting longer, warm yourself up and get down here!

I have walked past it possibly hundreds of times and seen many a happy diner munching on some delicious pasta or sipping on a nice glass of chilled white wine, but hadn't ever really given it much thought. When Elite Adam L. suggested a "January catch up", I figured it was high time to pop in and give it a look... Cucina Rustica is a smart looking Italian with decking outside and a clean, well maintained exterior. As I have said in many a review, I am not a huge fan of Italian food; but that opinion is starting to change after a number of great experiences at local Italian delights in the Midlands. After reading Dave C. and Lizzi H's reviews, I felt it would be a good bet as somewhere new to try. We were greeted straight away on entry and asked where we would like to sit (this was a lunch sitting, at around 1:30pm). There were a few diners, but it wasn't so busy that it felt bustling. We chose a table by the window and were presented with menus. There is a LOT of choice! You get the usual (pasta, pizza and salad etc), but many of the dishes came with an unexpected twist or slightly different ingredients which I found to be really interesting. I decided to go for a seafood salad and my partner in dining opted for the pasta. The dish was Much bigger than I expected and came loaded with crab meat, salmon and pretty huge prawns served on a bed of leaves, tomatoes and some kind of crispy dish. For £11.95, I definitely felt this was worth the money. Everything was fresh and tasty and it seemed to be a great choice for a hearty (but healthy-ish) lunch. We both had a soft drink to go with our meal and ended up being in the venue for around maybe... an hour and a half? We weren't rushed (but were checked on) and felt like we were looked after over our visit. I can't comment on the final bill (Adam very kindly paid) but I would imagine it would have been around the £30 mark. I would certainly recommend a visit to this venue. I can only speak for my lunch experience, but we had great food, attentive service all in a lovely location.

This one by far, almost by default as the others are just plain bad. All the staff seem nice, even though i have Italian blood i cant speak the lingo but its nice to see them trying to speak english rather than me trying to speak italian. The prices for the evening can be quite pricey, upwards of £15.00+ so i tend to drop in for the lunch time deal, a set menu is £12.00 a head with lots of options. I can never remember what i eat, but its always good. The quality of food is good enough here to take risks and try new things, if all else fails there are quite a few bottles of wine at the lower end of the price scale.

My favourite has to be what became my ultimate hangover cure! The full English breakfast baguette. If you're really in need of a hangover cure, they also sell a range of soft drinks (I'd recommend the lucozade!) and cakes such as flapjacks and chocolate sponge. The lads who work there provide a great service, you can even call up to place your order in advance so you don't have to wait around if you're in a rush.

It had diversified as was, with breakfasts - all too rare in town - and jacket spuds becoming complemented by a business lunch service and also a basic catering set-up which afforded sandwich platters and buffets. And then... fanfare please ..... a delivery service - free to homes within a two-mile radius (customers not making the geographical cut must make a minimum order of about seven quid). It's a curious quirk of the world of hangovers that the one thing that will fix you - a brekkie sarnie - is the one thing you cannot face making. Let someone else now take the strain as you mumble 'sausages' from under your duvet. Call them back for lunch: can you say daily roast? That's right, pork, apple sauce and stuffing on a baguette... you can be having Christmas in June for less than a fiver. Salads are available if you want to look silly.

You can actually see the guys upstairs cutting cheese, tomatoes, salad, etc and pressing burgers. When you follow your way downstairs, you can see the kitchen on the left side. I like the fact of seeing how they cook my food. This restaurant works like some more restaurants in the UK: you go to the bar to order your food. After that they give you a table number and they give you the drinks. Later on they look for your table number and the food is delivered to your table. Of course I had food in the restaurant many times so instead of telling you what I had last time I will tell you which are my favorites. Rosemary chips are a must, garlic mayo is pretty amazing and BBQ sauce as well. Mushroom and avocado as a topping in a burger is a win win, it's kinda pricy but it makes a huge difference for the burger lovers. They have all the stuff that you can imagine as toppings: bacon, pineapple, pastrami, 7 kinds of cheese, jalapeños, or for the meat lovers you can even put an extra patty to your burger. I'm vegetarian so I always choose cheese (cheddar or halloumi) and avocado to my burger. Drinks are ok. They don't have the draft option but still with the new menu there are at least 7 different types of beer, maybe more. Cider too, strawberry and lime (my favorite!), Apple, passion fruit, and a new Apple with cinnamon. Not bad handmade burger. The milkshakes - nice!!! They are too short though, just have of the cup is filled and they are not really cheap, but is fine. They always bring the shakes to your table because it takes a few minutes to prepare. The reason why I put three stars then? Well, service sometimes isn't the best. It gets really, really busy and there is not enough staff to serve or help the customers, and you can tell, they are rushing, running around, trying to reach everything but they can't. Plus (and I understand) when it gets hectic some of them can be rude-ish. But again, you need to see the restaurant completely cramped to understand! Prices aren't too bad, you can get a burger, side, dip and drink for between £12 and £15 which for the quality I think is really good.
