If you pay attention, yes Ingles can be a bit pricy, but notice the sales- you can find prices here better than any other store if it's on sale! They carry a LOT of local items and items made by small businesses too, which I love. Lastly, their bakery, deli, salad bar, and hot food bar are insanely large! A must try? The pistachio muffin! Scrumptious! This is our new go to grocer. I can't believe I finally found some of my favorite brands I haven't seen since I worked at Sprouts down in Florida!

For example, Gulden's Spicy Brown Mustard, I paid $2.29 (regular, non-sale price) at the other place, but when I walked in, same day to this place, it was literally that $0.75 higher. BUT, with that being said, if you shop their weekly mailer, and use their check-out coupons, and also use their loyalty card (you will occasionally get some decent price breaks). For example, last Nov/Dec, they mailed out $10 off purchase of $75. That helped. On specialty items, like Udi's Gluten Free Breads they are spot-on the competition price. So, it pays to shop around.

There was no friendly greeting, no apology for the error, no offer to credit my card, no congenial attitude, no apology for us having to make a special trip back to the store or offer to compensate. Was told it could have been credited over the phone if my wife had used her Lowes to Go account, which she had set up just such an account for the order. Even as I tried to make friendly side conversation about her Kombucha drink that I had loved that drink too until I learned it had alcohol, she even contended that it did *not* have alcohol when it absolutely does. In short, she desperately needs training in customer service and how to relate to customers. Due to this error combined with the lack of customer service, we'll be looking for another source next time.

However, instead of conducting a complete and reasonable investigation, they refused to check the exterior camera which would have clearly shown that I left the store without the item, since I left the cart along with the item inside the entrance. I said I left with two bags but I didn't leave with my other item which was on accident. The lack of effort and basic problem-solving from the staff was frustrating and unacceptable. As a result, I was unable to recover my item, despite there being clear evidence that could have resolved the situation. ALDI isn't your regular American supermarket and there are a few key differences that help them keep prices down. Starting off with, you'll need to bring a quarter in order to borrow a shopping cart. You'll get it back when you return the cart. The merchandise is a wide variety but they don't have everything and they generally don't have more than one of an item. A few name brands here and there but usually ALDI's generic brand. Note that the quality is similar. At the register, the cashier scans the stuff and then puts it right back into your cart. You're bagging it yourself, making your time at the register faster. You can buy ALDI bags or bring your own. Or you can find a few cardboard boxes from the sales floor for free. There was a time that ALDI didn't accept credit cards but they do know. Easy, inexpensive (not cheap) and a good shopping experience. Enjoy!
