I have been seeing Dr. Fontenot for a couple of years now. Not having a GP I got his name from my insurance carrier's website. I called for an appointment was able to get in the very next day. The office was very clean and tidy. If you are looking for a super advanced medical facility go to one of the large "Walmart" style clinics! If you are looking for a real dr. who recognizes his patients and is straight up and honest - then visit Dr. Fontenot. He has a staff of 2 - himself and his office manager how is great! I visit once a month for a prescription and refill and can usually get in that day! I have never had a problem with billing or insurance whatsoever. I love this man. He has never been wrong about a condition, I have been seeing him for 25 years and hand to God, I moved to the far east side of Houston and after trying for 18 months to find another PCP that has the same level of concern and honesty, I told him he would have to die or retire before I go looking for another PCP. I will drive the 35 minutes to go to his office. While he has never been wrong, he also doesn't take chances with your health and if it is a serious issue, he doesn't guess. He sends you for testing. He has had a referral every time I have needed one. As for the prior review about not having a lab. Really?! There are 9 labs in a 3 block radius used by 90% of the providers in that area. If you must have a lab in your providers office, go to Kelsey Seybold...or somewhere in the medical center.....but good luck with the Dr. knowing your name...ever. read more

Dr. Fontenot was rude and very unprofessional, his nurse is a nasty piece of work, such a crappy attitude. People do not expect to go to the doctor sick and get cursed at and treated with such disrespect. His nurse should go back to being a bill collector. read more

I have been a patient of Dr. Fontenot for 20 years. He is always personable unless you have an attitude with him or are asking for pain medications that you don't need. Drs are watched by the DEA with regards to how many Controlled Substances they prescribe. I know I can always get an appt within 1 day and Never have to wait! Everyone I have referred has loved him. His diagnosis has always been spot on. If you have a lab in the building, why do your own blood work, can you say cost effective? read more

He was absolutely terrible! Did not seem to even care or help me in any way. He was in a rush to leave and said my visit was a waste of time. I can not believe I was treated this way by a doctor. If you dont have insurance, don't even think you will get any respect from him. Would not recommend him to my worst enemy. Waste of money. read more

Dr. Fontenot has always been great to me. I have been seeing him for a very long time. He is dedicated to his patients and wants only the best for us. I personally like the receptionist. Yeah, she doesn't always have the biggest smile on her face, but they are a 2 man show and she covers everything from scheduling, payments, insurance, back office etc. So she does have a considerable amount of work keeping her busy along with some walkins that are not necessarily there for the right reasons that they surely have to guard for. Dr. Fontenot is witty yet serious. I'd recommend him to anyone that has a medical record to provide proof of previous prescriptions if they are considered a controlled substance, otherwise, like most doctors they will turn you away with out solid proof of needing any such substance. I know some of these reviews are bad, but they are probably from people without the best attitude themselves and just expect the doc to give them whatever due to his where there are a lot of independent doctors that will just write the script to whomever and he's too smart for such foolery. read more

I've been going to Dr. Fontenot for over 20 years. He is a simple, no fuss man who will usually tell you how it is. He has a good humor and has never been anything but kind to me and my family. He does not do in office blood work, but does send you to another office where that's all they do. As I said, he has a simple, no fuss set up.
