The staff member who took our order at the bar then delivered our order. He complained of how busy it was and seemed annoyed. He could use some hospitality training.

This is a very common Friday lunch-time haunt for corporates due to the good lunch menu and open bar. The "BBQ menu" is standard pub fare but the quality is actually quite good. My fave orders are the wagyu beef burger, fish & chips or the schnitzel. I'm definitely not a salad girl, but my colleagues claim the chicken salad is quite good if so inclined. Take a seat in the open verandah which is especially nice in summer, and count down the hours to quitting time and the weekend!

It's a perfect inner city oasis, a big, airy, well-lit castle packed with discerning people doing discerning things. I want to be one of these people. Can they smell a pretender? They haven't yet. And I'mma keep going until they do. The food is excellent gastro pub fare, and the big wooden deck area is worth the price of admission alone, and when you consider there isn't a price of admission it's really costing you more NOT to come here, isn't it?
