Looked around the beg & found bed bugs. Obviously shocking so we left by 5am to the laundromat to treat everything (spent $40 & ruined $200 of shoes and a dress). As expected, the manager denied an issue and said they didn't see anything or even that it could be a tick or something I picked up during the day? She definitely downplayed the situation and tried to shift blame. That said, she did say they'd send out an exterminator so hopefully the owner takes it seriously and treats the rooms. Owner called me a scammer & liar, as if I benefited at all from the situation.. A nightmare situation so wanted to make others aware so they can check the beds before unpacking/sleeping or pick another well-located property.

The good: This place has an awesome location! Walking…read moredistance to their small downtown and pier. The 3 bedroom condos are spacious for big groups and families. Washer and dryer included, a big benefit if you have little kids. It's nice that the kitchen was stocked with cookware and dishware. The bad: A big problem was general maintenance. It seems that the owners or property management company didn't care enough for the upkeep. First thing I wanted to mention is the ugly brown carpet. Severely ugly and severely needs to be replaced! The fridge had a broken drawer. The dishwasher was unhinged and falling out when its door was opened too wide. The lamps had missing or dead bulbs. The balcony chairs were broken. The cushions were so used and flat, it might as well have been there none at all. The blinds had missing slats. The ugly: The power went out during the Hurricane Irene weather craziness. Between the outside humidity and having no AC inside, it was unbearable! Had to leave early otherwise I would be in the dark doing nothing. The even worst part is the emergency stair way lights were dead after a few hours! A few other guests had to prop all the doors so the stairs could be used safely. The elevators was definitely not an option. To summarize, if the power outage hadn't happen, I would have stayed. The beach/pool were so much fun that I can overlook the condo deficiencies. Actually it was someone from Priceline, who lied to us about who he was. On arrival at the hotel we found no one in the parking lot. All the rooms were dark, and there was no access to the lobby, which was also dark and shut down. We assumed that somehow we had erroneously been given a reservation at a closed facility. We called the number on the hotels Marquis and we're connected to Priceline. Priceline denied any knowledge about this hotel's particulars Since we were in a resort community, we knew lodging was scarce so we went to another hotel and made reservations. Several hours later, we were contacted by both Priceline and the hotel management to tell us that it was a hotel that you access with the key code. We had received absolutely no information from this hotel about a key code and we certainly had not been given that key code. They had emailed us with a reservation number so I knew that they were able to contact me. I explained all this to Priceline and to the hotel management. We received nothing but misinformation misdirection and obfuscation from both parties. We will probably be forced to eat $1000 plus reservation fee. Avoid this hotel there are so many good places to stay at Folly

My family group of 10 stayed here over the Easter Holiday and had a fantastic experience. There were 4 kids and it was perfect for them as well. The listing and details of amenities was just as advertised. Before we checked in, we got visit from Holly, one of the Property Managers. She wanted to do a 'walk-thru' to make sure everything was good. We stayed at the Aluha, which we would highly recommend! We especially liked the large parking area below, there is a large screened porch with comfortable sofas and chairs and two outside decks and one with a large gas grill. It's great location just across the street from a beach access point. The only thing that could have made it better was a Keurig coffee maker. Maybe next time?
