Easily over 200 hundred different varieties of craft beer and I'm pretty sure I sampled every single one. (The ride home I'm not so sure about?) Thank God for the DD tickets they have for non-drinkers! The bbq was pretty amazing as well; paired perfectly with the beer. People were very friendly and out to have a really good time, what a great crowd. We were lucky to have such a nice day too as the weather called for thunder storms. Whats better on a hot sunny day than ice cold beer?!? Will definitely coming back yearly to this event. I would have come last year too but they sold out fast ***Tip: get your tickets on-line as soon as they go on sale***. They do not over sell, so no tickets available at the door! Added perk: A LOT of swag and beer-related merchandise for sale. I picked up a sick growler in the shape of a gargolye for 35 bucks! Yesss!

I'm pleased to share that almost every craft brewery from longguyland was there, and even one or two I've never heard of before (Po'boy brewery, who ARE you, really?). I started taking pictures of everything I enjoyed because after 10 or so of those tastes, the mind starts getting a little fuzzy. I couldn't find any wine tastings, unlike the previous years. Still - totally OK with me there was PLENTY of unusual beers and ciders to enjoy. In regard to the food ...... what ....happened? Not unlike everyone else, I was peeved about the eats. Previously, you'd get a ticket included in the price of admission to score some BBQ. This year, they only had 4 food trucks for noshes. FOUR. To feed, I don't know well over 1,000 people? Yikes. It's completely inefficient to make one order at a time when 25-40 people are waiting on each line. I spent 35+ mins roasting in the sun, then another 20 parking my sweaty self down in the shade to consume my much awaited prize. Almost an hour of a 3.5 hour event was lost just to grab half a meal. Make no mistake, the chicken sliders from the sweet buns truck were good, but paired with the lackluster overpriced parmesan truffle fries ($7), and the wait, I should have just brought a couple of KIND bars to stuff in my face instead. Leaving was a sheet show. Literally. We saw a girl dropping off some brown babies next to a car in FULL view of the road. Listen lady, at least go in the bushes or hide behind the car door to do your business. No one wanted to see that. Traffic wasn't super well orchestrated out of the place either. The security and staff were trying, but it was going slooooow. There wasonly one egress and a buncha' crazies in their cars so I was glad we all rented a short bus. I'd go again, but the organizers really need to up their game next year.

Though there were vendors, not one of them had any strawberry related goods. What I did enjoy was the strawberry shortcake eating contest and the crowning of the strawberry queen (the only two events that made it feel like I was at a strawberry festival). There were also chocolate strawberries being sold as well as strawberry shortcake slices (but I got one for free because I was front row for the eating contest and there were many extra!). ALSO MET BADLANDSCHUGS!

The Hamlets on the North Fork contains wineries, farms, and even a carnival fair. This local flair, Mattituck Lions Strawberry Festival, is far remote to anything but strawberry festival but a local fair or carnival fair. Cash only admission adults $5.00 and $2.00 for children, no pets permitted and parking is included with admission. Every activity is pay per person including contests, games and all rides thus, fair patrons bring lots of cash especially sunscreen SPF 30+. A Pay-One-Price Ride Bracelet is available for $25.00. Carnival fairs always attract my foodie interests for funnel cake (Fried Dough) and Italian sausage, but sadly no strawberry concoctions hence the name "Strawberry Festival." I desired strawberry syrup as my topping for vanilla ice cream or even strawberry shortcake but, sadly, none were avail. There is also no fried pickle. Annually operates four days of the year on Father Day's weekend, rain or shine. Route 48, Old Sound Avenue is open on both the East and West direction controlled by Suffolk Police admitting entrance. www.mattitucklionsclub.org

Bland, greasy, and WAY overpriced. The spiral chips/potatoes on a stick were CRAZY overpriced. Seriously, $5 for one fried potato, while a 10-lb bag sells for $4? Highway robbery. Also, I'd gotten the same fried potatoes in Prague for 50 cents. Fifty CZECH cents. This overpricing seemed to be the theme for the majority of vendors and food trucks. Honestly, if I'd paid full price for a ticket and found nearly NO samples and all expensive food, I'd have been pissed. Super disappointed.

They have hand washing stations, decent bathrooms, tons of things that kids can jump on, ride and play with. It's so nice and I definitely want to come back. We payed on the go-carts and they also have huge bouncy pillows and a big corn playpen for the kiddies that love sensory play. To be honest, the location is gorgeous with large wooden benches indoors and opening up to a large field and stage area with seating for live music outside, all along a water front. But again, the pizza. With ingredients including house-made mozzarella, hot soppressata and Mikes Hot Honey, the oven fired pizzas made fresh to order are the star of the show. The unique brews on draft vary constantly and are sure to please whatever you palate is in the mood for. If you are on line for the bar, you can see the drink selections on the floor mounted menus while waiting to speed up your choices. Bar tenders are friendly and can help make selections according to your preferences. There is also plenty of parking. Side note, a wedding party was heading down from the second floor of the building when we visited, so if you are looking to host a party you may also want to inquire about options here taking into account the available views.
