Delicious food in a adorable bar/restaurant located in a historic building in downtown Slippery…read moreRock! I think I can speak for our group of six that we had a great meal! Our server was Dustin (or Justin, we weren't sure) who was terrific (ask for him to wait on you, if you can!) I had the Italian Panini which was so yummy! Also the side dish of loaded mashed potatoes with gravy ..... They were just okay. It was quite a cold night, so 3 of us had nice hot cups of tea served in these quaint handmade mugs! And I had a glass of homemade root beer ..... ya can't go wrong! The prices are reasonable: my tea, root beer, and Italian Panini were $25. I think very moderate. Reservations are highly recommended. You can make one online for a party of up to 6. Larger groups must be reserved over the phone. Highly recommend and I would give it more than five stars if I could!

We enjoyed our Cajun chicken pasta (4.5/5) and the buffalo chicken sandwich (4.5/5). The Backpack Stash IPA was really good and this is coming from someone who doesn't drink much beer. The walls had a lot of cool historical vintage photos and antique items. There's indoor and outdoor seating. We had really good friendly service (5/5). We recommend this restaurant! Happy Yelping :)

Not to be confused with North Country Brewing's Pub & Restaurant on Main Street in Slippery Rock,…read morethis is the actual brewery/cannery where the beer is made. It's not easy to find if you're not from the area, there is no sign from the main road & only a tiny sign (building just looks like a non-descript warehouse). It's 3 miles east of I-79. Parking in back. North Country brews on tap, small food menu, great live music (which was why I came), darts, bingo in a large warehouse space. Tables available, you run a tab at bar & they give you a number if you order food & bring it out to you. Kitchen is a food trailer in parking lot. They had delicious homemade ham & cabbage soup and the biggest basket of fresh cut fries with beer cheese we ever had! They have a light beer, pale ales, stout, sours, IPA's. I think they may have limited local PA spirits too. Outdoors they have tents, fire pits & some heat lamps. Twinkle lights inside at night provide ambiance. We enjoyed our first experience. North Country Brewing owns this, the pub on Main St, Harmony Inn & Freedom Farms. Oh and they have plastic pint glasses, first time I've had one of those!

ABSOLUTE PERFECTION FROM START TO FINISH 10/10!…read more Perfection. Everything about Talbots is absolute perfection. I eat A LOT of food, and one common denominator I see among top-tier restaurants is that the owners and management are a direct reflection of the overall experience, quality, and taste. Talbots is no different. We felt right at home from the moment we walked in. Everyone was so welcoming and friendly, like lifetime friends. Our waitress, Teresa, was fantastic. She passed all the vibe checks and matched our energy immediately, all the signs of a veteran server you want guiding you through one of the best eating experiences of your life. She gave us her recommendations and left us to decide. We knew we were here for the #hashtagyouwont 36oz ribeyes, but we wanted to see what else was recommended since everything looked and sounded amazing. We decided to order a lot of food, almost everything that was recommended. This will be a bit of a long-winded review, but I'm sure the true foodies will appreciate it, so here we go: THE APPETIZERS The Brie: How can brie be so good that it deserves to be talked about first? I have no idea, but it was excellent. The strawberry-jalapeño jam, brie, candied pecans, baby naan, and fruit just worked so well together. An absolute hit. Pork Cheek Tacos: These melted in your mouth and exploded with flavor. They were also a really decent size, we were expecting little bite-sized tacos on a dumpling wrapper, but got two substantial tacos instead which was a pleasant surprise. Naan Bombs: Flat out delicious, and there were enough in the serving for everyone to have a few. Duck Wontons: So unique and flavorful. These were like little empanada explosions of flavor. THE MAIN EVENT: THE 36OZ RIBEYE When I tell you this was a perfect steak, this was a perfect steak. Cooked medium rare, oozing with flavor, and charred to absolute perfection on the outside. That is no easy feat with a cut this size, but somehow Talbot and crew made it seem like a walk in the park. Hidden under the steak, soaking up all the juices, are the house cut fries. I forgot they were even there because of the sheer size of the meat! By the time I discovered them, they were soaked with steak juice, but somehow remained crispy and soggy at the same time. It was brilliant, the fries almost had a poutine like aspect to them. Magnificent, completely unique, and made so much sense. As for the side of corn salad.... absolutely mind blowing. It just looked like corn with some sauce on it, nothing special at all. I am so sorry I underestimated you, Mr. Corn Salad. My God, this stuff was amazing. It didn't make sense to me, but I didn't care, I just kept shoveling it into my mouth. DESSERT We saved room for dessert (of course) and got three: The Chocolate Cake: A plate of pure, chocolaty goodness. Pecan Sweet Potato Pie: Spectacular. Coconut Cream Cheesecake: Wow. I am a sucker for coconut and cream cheese anything, and this checked every single box. THE VERDICT Throughout the night, we watched Talbot go up to each table to check in on everyone, and the chef even came out to talk to us. It was an absolute perfect meal top to bottom, start to finish. You can tell how much this entire establishment cares about what they do, and it is a direct reflection on the food. It's not often I can say a meal is flawless, so I have to give them their flowers in a long well deserved review. Five stars, two thumbs up, and a standing ovation for Talbots Taproom. P.s. Extra kudos for all the cool art and overall atmosphere. There is a ton of stuff to do outside as well but we were there on a chilly night so remained inside. We saw a patio, disc golf, and all sorts of other activities, even a tree house. We can't wait to make the hour trip again and enjoy all they have to offer once summer is in full swing!

Service and the bar was upbeat, friendly and overall excellent from "Good Morning" bartender "P"…read more Drinks were good. Wife had the Always Sunny which she enjoyed. Steak was well seasoned and cooked properly. I had the Asian BBQ, Nobody Likes a Party Pooper. Everything tasted pretty good but was all cool. NOTHING came out hot. Not sure how they try to keep the ribs and pork belly warm but it wasn't working. And not sure why the egg roll and potstickers were cool. Nice relaxed, comfortable atmosphere at the bar.

Lunch meeting at TimberCreek for the win!…read more My date and I spent the holidays at our respective families. We wanted to meet up for lunch and chose TimberCreek as it was about halfway from each other. The venue is built with a ski house or ski lodge style and houses a brewery with the operations underground which can be viewed from the glass floors in the middle. We were promptly seated and greeted. My date has a beer from the brewery and I went with their unsweet iced tea. We went with the TC Dua which consisted of a garlic like risotto with 1 scallop, 4 shrimps and 2 asparagus (see photo). Overall, the dish was acceptable had a good flavor. It would be nice to have another scallop for something like this. We then split a main entree which consisted of the Ahi Tuna (see photo). The dish itself was fine with a good amount of sauteed veggies underneath which made the dish better. All in the all, TimberCreek provided a nice venue with adequate food to enjoy!

I had not been here in a couple years and we only went here because we had tried another restaurant and there was an hour wait. I always liked the ambience inside this restaurant. It's across from the outlet mall & right off of I-79 in Grove City. They have a pretty big menu, and of course they have their own beers on tap & a woodfired oven for pizza. I had a patty melt with fries, which was actually very good, my husband and I split their zucchini plank appetizer, which was thin, sliced breaded, zucchini, and a dipping sauce. My husband got the fish sandwich which was a huge piece of fish and he got green beans instead of french fries and the green beans came in a really big bowl. It was almost enough for three people. It was the biggest side of green beans I had ever seen served with a meal & they were very good ! Our server was very friendly & efficient and she checked back often and she refilled my Diet Coke without asking actually four times! It's a solid choice for lunch or dinner, or just a drink at the bar.
