We contracted through Lowe's for the installation of our laminate flooring, and Focus on Floors was the company that performed the installation. I was really nervous about this after reading the reviews on Yelp, and nearly cancelled. Here's my experience: The job was completed by a two-man team, who showed up promptly on schedule. The men were detail-oriented and careful with our product. They were also careful with our baseboards. For our project, they had to remove linoleum, wood and carpet, and replace multiple rooms with a hardwood-laminate product. At a few times during the install, they checked in with me to ensure they were about to do the right thing ... like when it came to detail work around the kitchen cabinets or the brick fireplace. There were a couple of different ways those places could be finished, and they made sure to ask before starting. The transitions between doorways (to carpet and tile) and at the top of the staircase seem solid and are attractive. The team working on my home was professional. They did not leave behind any trash. They cleaned the front path, which had been covered with sawdust during the installation process. They even swept the finished floors MULTIPLE TIMES before leaving. My floors look like a showroom display. I guess the biggest takeaway was that these two men treated my flooring project like it was a unique and special thing ... which I appreciated, because for me and my family, it IS a unique a special thing. We don't get flooring on a regular basis, and we can't afford to repair or change it out regularly. This was a big deal to US; so even though they do this every day, I really appreciated that they understood where we were coming from. After the job was complete, I received one call from Focus on Floors and two calls from Lowe's to make sure the installation had been completed to my satisfaction. When working with Lowe's, you do have to pay in advance, which scared me to death. I had made two payments on the loan before all the materials had even arrived at my house, and was starting to get the "am I getting scammed" feeling ... But in the end, it turned out great because of Focus on Floors. 1. The installers were on time, professional and detail-oriented. 2. The installers checked in with me to make any last-minute decisions about my project. 3. The installers damaged nothing in my home. 4. The installers cleaned up after themselves, finished the project on schedule, and explained the 1-year warranty clearly. 5. I encountered this company because they subcontracted with Lowe's to do tile installations in the Denver area. The initial install was uneventful. They came and did the tile in my bathrooms as expected. The following is a list of ways they were less than professional: 1) During the job, the installer discovered he did not have enough grout to finish the job, so he left it up to me to go to the store, and exchange the too-small-bag he had got for a larger one. 2) When the installer "finished" the job, he left a full 4 x 8 foot sheet of sheetrock in my garage. It was way more than he possibly could have needed for the job, and as it turns out, he didn't need it at all, and left it in my garage. 3) The installer was able to install the tile, but not to complete the carpet-to-tile transition in the doorways. Another installer was required to do that, and the office was supposed to contact me to schedule that. They DID NOT contact me, and I had to call them after two days had passed. It was then another week before they could get me on the schedule. 4) Once I finally was on the schedule, the installer DID NOT show up as planned, and DID NOT call. I had to call the office, and he was not going to be able to make it till several hours later, that afternoon. He again, DID NOT show up for that time. Again, they DID NOT call to say they were going to miss a second appointment in one day. I called the office, and they, unapologetically after all this time, informed me the guy ran into issues on his last job, and would be at my place in about another hour. AN ENTIRE DAY taken off from work, and LOST because of their unprofessionalism. If you work with this company, or with Lowe's, DO NOT pay for the job in advance. Once they have your money, its like "&#*$ you, customer!". Also, the installer will ask you to sign a paper reviewing his work as soon as he is done. They ask about professionalism, and straight lines, courtesy, etc. DO NOT SIGN IT. Wait, until several days pass, and see how you feel then. Two stars because the tile install is attractive. Their finish and follow-through, however, sucks!! read more

We needed a full carpet installation on stairs and the upper floor. Fantastic job. Husband and wife team did the installation and it was top notch! I inspected thoroughly and even the closets. Couldn't see or spot a seam anywhere. Well priced too! read more

These guys are pretty dishonest. I received a quote from them through Lowes installation service. Their quote was 3x's higher than any other quote I received from other local installers. From the other reviews based on installation, I'm pretty glad I didn't end up hiring them because it looks like they do crappy work too. read more

Stay away from this company!!! Lowes needs to drop, them because they have no concept of customer service!! Rude, unprofessional and quick to tell you "didn't you read your contract"? We were happy overall with a master bath tile floor install a little over a year ago. However the grout is cracking in a couple of areas and has chipped out in (only about a half inch or so) in another. Great opportunity for Focus On Floors to make a customer pleased by sending out a tile person for what's probably a 15 minute repair. Instead they would rather argue with you and enforce their "warranty". When asked what it WOULD cost for such a simple repair, they responded with a $35.00 trip charge PLUS a minimum charge of $310! Lowes has done work for me in Colorado and my home in California. Tile in both, appliances etc.... Lowes just lost a customer for life, because of a crappy vendor, who simply could care less. They need to "Focus on their customers". Stay a mile away from Focus on Floors! read more

Carpet installed in bedroom looks awesome. They did a good job, cleaned up during and after installation. Knowing I am having laminated installed, they left extra carpet at the transition so it can be done correctly. read more

I contracted Focus on Floors through Lowe's to install laminate throughout my entire house. The two installers that were sent out did an amazing job. The floors and stairs look perfect. They were on time, courteous and cleaned up after themselves daily. This was a five day install and every night they made sure they cleaned up after themselves including sweeping away sawdust in the garage. I had a horrible experience working with another installation company through Lowe's competitor. However focus on floors was the complete opposite from the beginning with measuring, scheduling and installation. Thank you Focus on Floors. read more

VERY unprofessional (and I'm not fussy). Strange comments. Long breaks. Areas not sealed properly and a light spot on laminate (damaged). Attempted to fix but not good and not happy. This company should not be doing this kind of work. Disappointed in Lowe's as well. read more

The company itself and other parts of our job were at times a little unorganized, however, our laminate job was very through and the job was well done. The guys were professional, on time every day, respectful, organized and all around very nice to work with. If you have a laminate project, these guys are the way to go. read more

I am surprised by the bad reviews, as they were so accommodating and patient with me. They called right away to measure, the scheduler was very friendly and on time and when I had to change the dates several times as my contractor was behind they worked with me. They installed quickly and the carpet looks amazing. I was very skeptical to use them through Loews when I saw the other reviews but I could not be happier. I checked quotes with other installers and even though their quote itself was lower, when combined with Loews carpet and install specials it can out to be the same and Loews stands by their work. I am so upset with the dishonesty and lack of ethics that this company has. They subcontracted through Lowe's to install carpet and move furniture. They slid a couch instead of lifting it, causing a huge scratch on my brand new installed kitchen floors. Instead of notifying us and fixing the situation they threw carpet over the top to make it look like they were protecting my floor. We noticed and complained that day after we found it and they had already left. The owner Jeff has been blowing us off repeatedly and not rectifying the situation. It's been over a month and still no resolution. read more

They were subcontracted through Lowes to do our job. After demoing the floor for us, we had a concrete lift company come in to try to level the floor more. I then called FonF and asked them if they could come out to see if it was level enough. Our install was 5 days out. They said they did not have time to send someone out to check. When they showed up, we were told the floors were not level enough. That did not make us upset. We knew that could be the case. What did make us upset was how they spoke to me - yelling over the phone. Even though I had a concrete person scheduled to come level the floor the next week, they would not even put me back on the schedule. That meant, that I had to wait for the concrete to get fixed, then wait for them to come look at it, just to be put back on the schedule, which was a month out. I guess they aren't concerned at all that I have half my house demo'd with zero flooring. The owner, Jeff, was very unprofessional and started our conversation yelling at me. I had to say several times "May I speak now?" just to get him to listen to why I was even calling. He seemed highly upset that I "wasted" his time by the floors not being level when they came out to install - although I kept trying to tell him over his yelling that I had asked the secretary if they could send someone out to see if the floors were level enough or not. Oh, and this was after calling three times bc he refused to even take my calls until I flat out asked the secretary why he was not taking my calls. Only then did I actually get him on the phone. I would stay away from this company!!! I very rarely write reviews, but felt it was necessary in this case! I should add that the guys that came out to do the demo were nice enough and did the job in a timely manner. It's a shame the owner was so nasty to me when I was just trying to communicate and figure out how and when the job was going to get finished. read more
