I've moved from northern jersey and have looked for a gynecologist that's I'm comfortable since and…read morefinally I found someone who is compassionate, understanding and who listens to my concerns. My receptionist was friendly. The office nurse was very helpful and kind. She jots down all the notes, does the weigh ins and any other tests necessary before the doctor sees you and your file. Dr. Essandoh is very professional and she takes her time explaining and going over any questions or concerns you may have...I've never felt rushed like my previous experience with other local doctors. I'm taking off one star only because I waited about 90 before been seen by anyone. However, it's understandable that the doctor was running behind schedule, which she did apologize the first minute we met. Parking here isn't an issue. It's a shared lot with other offices and business.

Honestly if I could just give Dr. Essandoh and her medical assistant 5 stars I would, but her…read morereceptionist only deserves 1 stars. I called a month prior to my appointment to see if there were any earlier appointments because I was having a lot of lower abdominal pain and spotting. The receptionist was extremely rude and said that was not possible, but when I told her my symptoms, she said I would see the nurse practitioner and I said that would be fine. She gave me one appointment and I said was unable to make that appointment, then she got frustrated with me and said I have to call you back. I never got a call back and since my pain was intermittent, I just waited for my appointment. Fast forward to the day of my appointment, I waited 15 minutes before I was even spoken to, which I didn't mind, but then came the attitude. The receptionist asked me for my insurance card, and I showed her my insurance card on my phone because I do not have a physical card. She then went off on me, and stated, "You did this the last time," Mind you, I didn't even remember because it had been 2 years since I had an appointment. She went on saying, "next time you need to bring a physical card," and I politely said, "okay." But then, she kept harping on saying stuff like, "I don't understand why people have it on their phone...not everyone uses digital...no one usually has a problem bringing a physical copy...you should have requested a card before you came here." At this point I'm annoyed and I tell her, "if that's the case when you called me to remind me of my appointment, you should have told me I needed a physical copy." She starts to backtrack and smile saying, "it's fine, it just looks like you don't have insurance and they are asking for $60 copay." Mind you, I am also a nurse with private insurance, and I know my annual exam is include. I tell her, "just charge me then," because I'm done going back and forth. She goes, "No, it should be free, it's your annual exam. I'll work it out for you." At that point, I'm exasperated and I just want to see the doctor. So after I see Dr. Essandoh, the doctor asked me to have a seat and wait for my prescriptions and they will call me for my prescriptions. I go have a seat, and 20 mins later, I still haven't receive my prescription so I go to the front desk and ask if Dr. Essandoh had any prescriptions. The receptionist smiles and states, "You never came to see me." I told her, "Dr. Essandoh, specifically asked me to have a seat and would be told I would be called when the prescriptions were ready." She just said to me, "here." No apology, nothing. I really like Dr. Essandoh, but I do not appreciate her passive aggressive receptionist. My whole interaction with this woman was unprofessional and I do not appreciate being treated that way. I work in the same medical field, and I know that is not how you treat patients. I hope the receptionist learns to do better because I can only imagine how she treats people without insurance.
