I got an acrylic fill, and about a month later I went to a different salon that had been recommended to me. While removing my polish, the nail technician discovered what appeared to be severe mold and fungal growth underneath my acrylics. She told me it was one of the worst cases she had seen. Because of the condition of my nails, I went to urgent care and purchased the antifungal treatment they recommended. I was leaving the next day for a work trip, so after beginning treatment I had to apply polish/gel to my nails for work. I immediately contacted the salon and provided live photos with timestamps documenting the condition of my nails. Rather than addressing my concerns or issuing a refund, they repeatedly insisted that I return to the salon so they could examine my nails in person. By that point, I had already started treatment and covered my nails because of my work obligations, and I was not comfortable allowing anyone to touch them. It has now been over a week since I first reached out, and despite providing documentation, I still have not received a refund. I wasn't looking to leave a negative review--I simply wanted the situation to be handled fairly. Unfortunately, the lack of accountability and customer service has left me extremely disappointed. I hope they take concerns like this more seriously in the future.

I was visiting family from out-of-state and am very particular with my nails. I spent a good amount…read moreof time researching on Yelp to avoid wasting money at a chop shop and finally decided on Xtreme based on some recent pictures and mostly good reviews. I'm aware that there are technicians of all different skills levels but in general, in my opinion, if you're employed as a nail tech, you should be able to do the most basic service at the very least. I had asked for a full set, coffin-shaped, medium-length. I ended up with a shorter nails (it's pretty pointless for me to get acrylics if they end up short) and an odd shape in between coffin, square and almond. The reason for this is because the technician excessively filed the nails to the point that they looked shaped in between coffin and almond so I asked that he filed the very tips even more to square them out a bit. He also excessively filed to where some of my cuticles broke skin and are tender. The acrylic overlay was laid on very thick and the paint job was poorly done if you look closely at the base of the cuticles. I feel bad writing this review because he seemed to be super detailed in his steps and took about two hours (which was the indicator that he seems to need more practice because a typical set of medium length acrylics normally doesn't take longer than 1.5 hours from my experiences). Hence why I gave two stars for his hard work and time spent. The price was fine ($50, I also left a 20% tip despite my unhappiness). No shade to the technician because again I understand everyone has different skill sets and he worked very hard on them, but unfortunately it's not a restaurant where I can send something back I'm unhappy with and sadly, I really want to get a new set elsewhere but will have to wait as fresh acrylics are difficult to remove, so that's hard-earned money wasted. I don't mind paying just would like businesses to be more transparent. Update: one of the managers reached out about my bleeding situation. He offered a redo. They immediately clean pedicure chairs in great detail and always have Lysol wipes and bleach bottles sitting around. I've seen plenty of it after many hours of pedicures here over the years. They are always washing towels that smell like fresh detergent too. When you walk in the door for a manicure, they ask you to wash your hands first. Hello clean! Second, the staff is incredibly kind. Their decor includes scriptures and Christian references. Their WiFi is even John3:16. The owners, their kids, and other family members run this place. Third, make an appointment (even if it's last minute!). They can be incredibly busy, have tons of regulars who make appts, and it's crazy how many people walk-in wanting special dips and pedicures in groups. Just make an appointment so it's easier on everyone! Lastly, the quality is always great here. MiMi and Kate are especially great at nail designs. Chau (owner) does great polish and massage work as well. If you don't like something, just speak up. I've had to call out a random gel bubble or rough nail tip once finished, and they fix it right away. They would rather you ask them to fix something than leave a nasty review. They are the type of people who make things right and appreciate their customers. I see and hear them call customers by their first names as soon as they walk in the door. Great neighborhood nail salon!
