All the employees are always very friendly and willing to help you. On today's visit, I went to the branch to fix a little problem I encountered. I have my mortgage through Waterstone Bank, and I hadn't received my escrow check, to pay my property taxes. First, I called Customer Service. They looked up my account, and told me the check was sent out two weeks ago. It must have gotten lost in the mail or something, because I never got it. The Customer Service Rep told me that I could just go into any branch, and they could issue a stop-pay on the old check and issue a replacement. So that's exactly what I did. Easy as pie! They have a small waiting area, with comfy chairs, arranged around a coffee table, a TV on the wall, that's usually got some news channel on, and a station with fresh, hot coffee. So I sat and waited a few minutes while they got everything in order and issued my new check. They brought it over to me; I had to sign one paper for the stop-pay, and I was sent on my way with a handshake and a 'Thank You'.

    I've had multiple problems with this bank. My wife used to handle our banking, so when she passed…read moreaway in December 2022, I needed to create personal sign-in user name and password. NOBODY answered the telephone at the Menomonee Falls branch, so I had to go to a branch on Silver Spring Drive and go there to get my username and password added to my account. I'd previously had trouble making an appointment to get a Medalion Stamp affixed to some documents. The (Ir)responsoble Manager never returned my calls or voice mails. I had to go elsewhere to get the stamp applied. Today, I could not sign-into my account to electronically deposit a check. Neither the Menomonee Falls branch, nor the First Citizens "Customer (NO)Service line could help. They could only "Start a Claim", which could take 48 hours for somebody to call me and POSSIBLY work on a solution. I have found my own solution. That will be be finding a new bank! If you have an account, I advise you do the same. If you are looking for a bank, DO NOT use First Citizens Bank!

    This location does not use deposit slips, they are "electronic" now. I had two checks to deposit…read moreand wanted some cash back. I explained it to the teller and wrote it down. I also had to tell her which account to deposit to, although the number was on the paper. After the check machine tried to eat my checks and they got stuck a number of times, the total of both checks was deposited. I explained that this was incorrect. The teller canceled the transaction, instead of just giving me the cash as a withdrawal as I asked her to. So now the check machine starts eating my checks again. They are really mangled by this time. Another teller took over and managed to get it right. The tellers were pleasant enough, but this should have not taken as long as it did or been such a big deal. Generally, this a really upsetting visit. I want them to use deposit slips, please. [Also, my husband asked for a check register and they are now much thinner. I realize that no one writes a lot of checks anymore, but there are more electronic transactions to be logged, so the books should be larger, if anything. ]

    This year, I worked with a seasoned loan officer, on an investment mortgage for three properties…read more Before paying for any appraisals, he set up the mortgages and had them approved by an underwriter. I was told that if the appraisal came back good, that everything should be all right and that we should get the loans closed. I paid for the appraisals, thinking that everything was going to turn out all right. The appraisal came back fine and my prospective mortgages were sent to underwriting. Prior to the appraisals, it was agreed that I would put 20% for my down payments on each mortgage. After the appraisal came back fine, I was told that I now needed to put 30% down! It was not what we agreed to. I then asked if they could at least meet me halfway and go 25%. They weren't willing to budge. They also told me that they didn't want to do anymore mortgages with me because my properties are in Milwaukee County. I think this is why they changed the terms on me.They wanted to stick with Waukesha County. They wasted two months of my time. Then, I switched to another lender and asked if they would switch the appraisals (That I paid for ) over to the other lender. They refused. They said that the appraisal belongs to them, even though I paid for them. So I ended up paying for the appraisals again with the new lender. Overall, If you're looking for a mortgage, this bank is too risky to deal with. I would find another bank that's more reliable, especially if your properties are not within Waukesha county.

I had a concern and she made me feel like everything was my fault and that I was dumb for not understanding how something worked. It makes me nervous to ever call again with questions and concerns.
