Focal Point Vision entire physician team are so good and super nice. Theresa is phenomenal she took my images and exuded a level of confidence and loves her job. She was very patient and super nice staff. Dr. Dautry is incredibly awesome; he examined my eyes and gave me the confidence and trust I was looking for and I got it here. Everyone at Focal Point Vision are a good group of people doing their Job with passion, precision, and a high caliber of making me feel less anxious and worried about my current eye health. Come here I did it I got a second opinion and I'm going to do an LPI procedure. Carmen was sweet and nice at the end of my visit; she answered all my insurance out of pocket questions and insurance coverages. I appreciate all of you! Thank you, Maria Villasana read more

Joshua Iltis MD and the staff at focal point are amazing. I've had a reoccurring problem with my eyes and not only did he help but he fit me in to get it done as soon as possible. The quality of care that he gave was off the chart can't stop thinking them. read more

I would never recommend Dr Maverick. He is arrogant and pompous to say the least. Their billing dept is amateur at best. I have nothing to say positive about my experience! read more

FYI - the location I used was the Alamo Heights location. And, btw, I have discovered that it is against federal law for them to not give me my prescription at the time of the exam, which they did not do, at NO CHARGE. So why are they charging me for it now? read more

Mislabeled on yelp at optometry. They are ophthalmologists. Dont come here for contact lenses or glasses.

I wanted to take this time to thank Dr. Lehmann and staff at Focal Point Vision. Dr. Lehmann is a true professional with a high level of concern for his patients. He covered every avenue to ensure the correct diagnosis and treatment for my condition. He even ordered blood labs to make sure that any infection would be identified and the proper protocol was in place to rectify my condition. On my follow-up visit he explained how the medication he prescribed had improved my condition, and he was very excited and reassuring that we are on the correct path for my recovery. His positive demeanor and patient caring attitude helped me to relieve any stress and anxiety I had concerning my eye condition. Furthermore, his staff was very accommodating and demonstrated a genuine care and concern for my comfort. Again, thank you so much Dr. Lehmann! You are the "GREATEST!" read more

I noticed little blurry vision so I had to have it checked and I was referred to specialist (Focal Point), so we set an appointment and I was seen by doctor Maverick, after initial consultation and my specialist fee $60.00, I was asked to have few vision check, after 3 test, we were told to have a seat so they can go over the procedure and payment option when at this time another guy (technician) came to let me know that they must have other test as well??? they have performed two more test and never during any of these test did they mentioned that there will be additional fee or cost involved. Well now I am sitting in the lobby which we are waiting for consultant to discuss the outcome, the feeling that I got from waiting over 20 minutes and watching the two lady going back and forth reminded me of car dealership, where they make you wait till they get the paperwork ready. When we were talking with those to consultant, they did mentioned that they want to go over every thing so it won't be any surprise cost. and they had me sign extensive amount of documents (just like car dealership) which I did not like at all since I used to work at few car dealerships before. They also stress that all payment has to be completed 2 weeks prior to surgery and that also includes the hospital and anesthesiology portion as well. month after visiting this facility, I received a bill for testing!!!!??? which I still have not paid because no one told me that beside paying for specialist, I will get more surprise bill from them. I tried to call the hospital and the anesthesiologist but they could not tell me how much will it cost. tried to contact them several times but we keep playing phone tag. Why can't they tell me how much will it cost for procedures? After the fact then they can charge me whatever they want and if we don't pay it, then they will reported to credit bureau and ding your credit rating. I decided to get a second opinion and the new doctor asked for the record, it has been 3 weeks that they have requested these records but still have not received them. So I decided to put this review and hopefully this would get the ball rolling. I am not sure if I should do a poor or a good review from this establishment? what do you think. Doctor Maverick, if you are reading this, you need to do something about it, there are extensive amount of unsatisfied customers with low rating feedback that you need to be aware of. read more

Everything about this visit was perfect!! My aunt needed an appointment for her eye issues. We were able to get an appointment pretty easy and quickly. The staff & the doctor were all very courteous & professional. We were in & out in about an hour. Thank you so much :) read more

This place is the best! We have another experience with another place in San Antonio and Focal Point Vision blows them out of the water! The doctors are knowledgeable and personable, the nurses and staff are kind and attentive. We have already been telling everyone we know that this is the place to go for any eye care/vision surgery! read more

Unfortunately, my experience with Dr. Maverick and his team lacked many essential qualities that should be expected when patients seek medical care from those who claim to "be the best." I had a traumatic outcome from a failed attempt by Dr. Maverick to repair my eye. I was not provided adequate care prior to my procedure nor after when my pain became intolerable. Dr. Maverick and his team showed little regard for my particular needs, provided conflicting post opt instructions and worst of all, since my procedure I learned from an exam done by another eye specialist that Dr. Maverick lied to me about what actually occurred during my procedure, which is consistent with what I had suspected. I was not suppose to have any real amount of pain, only a little discomfort because "an incision was never made in my eye," according to Dr. Maverick but sadly to further my disappointment, I have a scar in my eye which proves Dr. Maverick's dishonesty. The initial fear of losing eyesight was terrifying enough for me and then to have endured such agony has only made my anxiety grow. I wanted to believe that Dr. Maverick held the answers to preserve quality of my vision but instead I was left with pain and lies, feeling confused and betrayed. I thought by choosing Dr. Maverick that I was making an informed decision only to discover that he had total disregard for me, my safety and did nothing to rectify my situation. Due to this set back I'm out money, time and had to start over seeking care from a more qualified and compassionate professional. When researching to find qualified doctors, I strongly recommend that you look beyond what the doctor's individual creditials are, how they describe themselves in social media, check their State Medical Board records for any complaints filed against them and make sure you can trust the person with the scalpel. Look somewhere else for medical care for your eyes. Dr. Maverick can't be trusted. read more

So very happy with my IOL replacement lenses and all the staff at Focal Point Vision. Dr. Lehmann is the best and I always felt in capable hands and he and the staff always explained everything at each step. So glad I did it and highly encourage others to get this"gift of sight"!! I have had nothing but problems with the billing dept. Every time they have charged me, except for one time, they have over charged me and I have to call and ask for a refund. They owed me a refund but instead of applying it to my next charge they insisted I had to pay the amount due today! Then they over charged me again!! I had to call twice before they refunded my money. They owe me money now! After my cataract surgery there was some clouding under the new lenses. I had to pay to have this taken care of. I didn't have the problem before I went there!! The doctors seem more interested in money than patients. I will not go back and I do not recommend them. In fact I have already told a friend to find another facility for her surgery. read more

Long wait!! Ok doctor Waited 1.5 hours to be seen. Doctor spent 15 min with me. Waited 45 min to be checked out. Total time = 2.5 hours with 10% spent with doctor. Never returning as my whole morning was spent here. Plus they charge you for being late/ missed appointment. read more

Went to Dr. MAverick in 2011. Was having problems with my eyes and we only had one corneal specialist who didn't know what I had. Went to another corneal specialist in San Antonio who didn't tell me what I had just said I needed a transplant. Dr. Maverick did lots of tests and explained what I had which was called Fuchs. He was patient didn't try and hurry me out and showed me what my Corneas looked like. I had both eyes done and was extremely happy with my results. read more

I had cataract surgery a month ago with Dr. Maverick. He had treated me for an eye injury a year ago and I was impressed. I had had Lasik years ago and my overall vision was fairly good. Decent distance vision, good intermediate vision both with no glasses. I did wear reading glasses for reading closeup. My vision had just gotten a little blurrier and darker with cataracts. Went with special lenses for astigmatism. A month after surgery I can no longer see anything clearly without glasses. My distance vision is blurry as is intermediate vision and closeup is much worse. I knew I would need reading glasses but paid for special lenses to avoid wearing glasses full time. I haven't seen Dr. Maverick since surgery. Instead they have passed me on to Dr. Connor who is only interested in me moving on to glasses or contacts. She changes the subject every time I mention I am unhappy with results. The facilities are nice, people are pleasant, respect my time. But what does it matter if my vision is worse. A friend who had previous LASIK had problems with cataract surgery too but her doctor corrected it with a separate procedure . Evidently no concern for good results here. read more

Dr. Maverick advised that I was qualified to have both my cataracs removed within a weeks time and my insurance would cover part of the surgery. Last year the opthamologist said they were just beginning to form. I got a second opinion and was told the cataracs were not ready for removal and my insurance would not cover the surgery. Also, it was never recommended to have both eyes done that quickly as infection and complications need to be watched for before the next one is done. In addition when I called to have my doctor notes sent to me they charge $25 dollars!! They advised that this is common to all doctors. I have always kept doctor notes and NEVER been charged a penny. I will not return as I question their medical ethics. read more

I had cataract surgery in August of 2017. It seems to go well for a day or two, then my vision started getting worse in the eye the worked on. On my follow up visit, I told them the issues I was having, and their solution was to send me to another ophthalmologist to get my eyes checked. Since the surgery, I have been to 3 different ophthalmologists, and none of them have been able to help. Now when I open my eye that I had surgery on, it is similar to opening your eyes underwater. If you value your vision, do not go here. I cannot recommend going to Focal Point Vision under any circumstance. My experience has been anything but good, and in my opinion, they aren't capable of doing any type of eye surgery. I do not recommend them if you care about your vision. I wish I had never had eye surgery by Dr Maverick. read more

Staff is very nice as is doctors. Their policy on revealing they do not take vision insurance, & after seeing the Ophthalmologist you are set up for a regular eye exam with an OD. After seeing the OD I wanted my prescription & they said I would have to pay $65. That's nuts & breaks Federal HIPAA Laws, & Texas Optometry Board rules in following HIPAA Laws. After leaving a bad review on Google (which does not show up) Patti, the billing supervisor, called to see if she could answer any concerns due to my review. I told her what I was upset about & stated HIPAA laws regarding medical records fees, but she kept insisting the insurance guidelines trump my complaints, & they can charge $65 for my written prescription. I'll simply file a complaint with State & Federal. read more

Wish I could give Dr. Lehman 10 Stars! I began to have problem driving because of light flaring because of cataracts. Pretty quickly I could only read very large print. Dr. Lehmann diagnosed and encouraged immediate correction. He removed my natural lenses and replaced them with plastic lenses. I went from having to wear glasses/contacts since elementary school to having 20-10 vision--for life. These plastic lenses will not change as I get older. Another eye surgeon I visited performs cataract surgery using another common procedure: remove the cataract, reshape the natural lenses to 20/20. But in this procedure, the patient's eyes will flatten as they age-requiring glasses or contacts again. This other surgeon encouraged me to wait out the (increasingly dangerous and lost vision) eyesight situation, until my eyes were just unusable. However, Dr. Lehmann said there is no reason to wait at all (because implants won't age). The surgery went smoothly. I overheard him praying for the patients around me, prior to surgery. He operated on my eyes in the afternoon, and by 8 am the next morning I had perfect vision. A year later, I'm still very grateful that I had an amazing and Godly eye surgeon. I wake up and can see close or far away perfectly--no eye products--no regimen. Yay! read more

I paid cash in advance for my procedure which included paying for anesthesia in full. I have been receiving a $1500 bill from Tejas Anesthesia for over a year now even though I have shown proof that I paid Focal Point for their service. Focal Point would not answer or return my calls for 6 months. When I would go in and ask to speak to someone, they would assure me over and over that they would take care of it. Eventually I reached them by phone and was promised this would be taken care of as they could see that I had pre-paid in full. We have gone over this, receiving bills and their promising to correct the situation numerous times. To date I am Still receiving bills and threats to be turned into collections from Tejas Anesthesia. They do not care who is actually responsible for the bill even though they have been told (on a 3 way call, I heard it!) by Focal Point that I had pre-paid. This is Insane. I would never recommend going there regardless of their medical service because their customer service is equally important and being billed and ADDITIONAL $1500 dollars because they refuse to pay their bills is a horrible way to treat patients. The staff who took care of me at the Schertz surgicenter were exceptional, kind and friendly. They deserve 5 stars. read more

My first experience was great, the doc was friendly and helpful. I tried to go back and they literally told me they would not see me as it was "a bad business decision". Focal Point Vision was amazing and helped me decide on something I should have done YEARS ago!! I would highly recommend them to anyone for their eye surgery/Lasik! read more

EYE My new doctor- Dr San Martin. Great customer service, patient, kind. The office staff is wonderful. Thank you !!!

READ THIS!!! At first I was seen shortly after the appointment time. however that has NOT been the case the last 2 times. I have been to their office a total of 6 times and have NEVER been seen on time. Today, I waited 45 minutes to be called and then was told it was going to be an additional time since there was still one person ahead of me! I refused to continue to wait since my last appointment resulted in me waiting 50 minutes to be seen and 15 minutes to be prepped and an additional 10 minutes to be treated. They agreed to try for an earlier appointment so I would be the first patient seen. We will see on FEB. 26TH. Excuses today ranged from Dr. San Martin always running late to they were short-staffed. Finally I asked for the office manager. She came out and 5 minutes into the conversation stated that the office manager was with a patient so once again excuses rained upon my head. Honestly , SAVE YOURSELF THE TIME AND AGGRAVATION AND DON'T GO THERE!!! read more

Dr. Maverick is tops in his field. He's also very personable and never seems rushed when answering questions.
