Really tasty panini! Close to 5 stars, but wis it was clearer that sandwiches are à la carte rather than upcharge on fries.

We need more places like this in NW Fresno! I work out here and also grew up on this side of town and though there's a lot of restaurants and eateries, it's mostly chains. I love a good ma and pop establishment. Walking in I was cheerfully greeted and handed a menu. The owner offered me free samples of iced tea- I settled with the pomegranate one and it was good and not sweetened which I like. I decided to order a simple sandwich. Club on sourdough w avocado added. My dining partner ordered brisket grilled cheese with fries. Everything tasted so fresh and good quality. They slice their own deli meats and the breads here have to be homemade. Fries were so crunchy and fresh tasting - awesome ranch too which also tastes home made. The owner was so attentive and thoughtful. I felt like I was eating in his own home. Definitely a gem in Fresno and looking forward to my next visit.

Passed this place while driving one day so we thought we would give it a try. Place is clean and inviting. We were greeted at the counter with menus. So many great options. We wanted to try the sandwiches, especially the pastrami. So we chose that along with the triple Cuban. While we waiting the owner offered a a couple samples of ice tea and a sample of the chili. The Chili was full of flavor and the right amount of cheese. It was such a great interaction. It's little things like that make people want to come back! I really enjoyed the pastrami. Right amount of meat. Triple threat was also delicious. Gotta love egg in a sandwich! Definitely will be returning to try some plates! Thanks again for the good meal!

Decided to stop by here after picking up my daughter from school to try their sandwiches. There was ample seating inside and it was clean. We were greeted immediately by the owner (Jay) with menus already in hand for us to look at. He was so kind and welcoming. He also offered us samples of the soups. I had the tomato Parmesan soup and it was so delicious! My daughter got the bell pepper Gouda and it was so tasty too! I ordered the butter chicken focaccia and my daughter got the chicken pesto. Both sandwiches were delicious. They make their ciabatta, focaccia, and gluten free breads all in house. From the service to the food everything was amazing. Definitely a must try and a must go back for more!

Club with egg toasted with butter add pepperchinis, sub pesto spread and broccoli cheese soup

The sandwich was the Turkey Club with egg toasted with butter add pepperchinis, sub pesto spread. It was great. Modified to my liking. The gentleman helping talked me into the egg, toasted with butter and pepperchinis. He said I would love it and I did! The broccoli cheese soup is more on the brothy side instead of a thick chowder with generous portions of fresh broccoli. Everything tasted fresh, and I was very surprised to see that the sandwich came with a few slices of fresh orange and melon on the side. The service was very friendly, helpful, and hospitable. inside is clean with about seven or eight tables. There's music playing and it's very bright and airy inside. The only mistake I did was I really wanted to try the focaccia, hello it's in the name, so I should've subbed out the sourdough for focaccia. I guess I have another reason to come back!

Pastrami on marbled rye. Very, very good!

Driving through town. Searched for gluten free lunch. Online said they have gluten free options. This place is a small spot in strip mall. Not fancy which is great for quick lunch. Husband ordered pastrami on marbled rye I ordered roast beef on gluten free. Both sandwiches were delicious. My complaint is that gluten free bread is flat bread and didn't hold up with all the meat, cheese, tomatoes. I want to go back for lentil soup. We ate in the car because it was FREEZING inside restaurant. Service was good. Place and bathrooms were clean.

Club Sandwich with side of French fries and Dungeness crab panini Crab Sandwich

I'm usually a pretty picky eater, but this place seriously impressed me! We ordered the club sandwich with an egg inside and the crab panini (market price), and both were absolutely delicious. I ended up devouring my meal, which says a lot. Definitely coming back!

Decided to give this newer sandwich shop a try since they took over the space one of my go to Mediterranean restaurants used to occupy. It is very quiet, clean, and organized on the inside. When I walked into the shop I was greeted by the workers and was handed a menu with their current offerings. Deciding what to order was the most difficult aspect of this whole experience; every menu item sounded wonderful. I settled on the butter chicken sandwich and the chicken and pesto panini. All of their sandwiches and paninis come with your side of choice; fries, soup, or salad. I settled on two orders of fries as I was craving something salty. When it comes down to the quality, taste, and freshness of the food, it is evident that no corners were cut. After talking with who I presume was the owner, I was informed that everything is made in house daily. I truly appreciate any business that does that because the quality is evident in the taste of the food. As far as the sandwiches go, both sandwiches had lots of chicken and had amazing flavor. The focaccia was so airy and pillowy. I would have loved a little extra of the sauce on my sandwich because I prefer things "saucy" and the flavor was so good, but the sandwiches were still amazing without the extra sauce. Next time I go back, I will ask to see if they will add a little extra butter chicken and pesto sauce onto the sandwich for me. The fries were seasoned well and had amazing crunch to them! Average wait time is about 10-15 minutes per customer as everything is made to order! To me prices are reasonable and on par with similar restaurants. On my way out, the owner let us try their homemade soups. I am not exaggerating when I say that these were some of the most flavorful and delicious soups I have ever tried. The red lentil soup was my favorite along with their chicken gumbo. I will definitely be ordering some soups when the weather cools off in the fall. I plan to come back and try different items on the menu in the near future because spots like this deserve and earned my future business with their hospitality, attention to detail, and the quality food they put out.

Tried the triple Cuban for the first time and the sub was way better than expected. Every bite had great flavor and kept wanting to take bite after bite until I ate it all. It had turkey, ham and chorizo in it which was a great combination.

The great reviews lured me in! I had the curry chicken sandwich and it was really good. Decent amount of spice, just enough sauce, and chicken wasn't dry. Fries were perfectly crisp Hubby had the club sandwich, that was good too and packed with meat! The owner was there and super nice! He let me taste test a few of their soups - I'll definitely have to come back to try more of the French onion soup and garbanzo soup. Good amount of parking, place looked clean, and nicely decorated.

My family and I ate at Focaccia today and loved it! Not only are the portions generous and the sides delicious, but the owner's service and hospitality is unmatched. He made us feel so welcome and even gave us samples of his delicious potato salad for us to try. The owner was previously awarded a Michelin star for a past restaurant (doesn't surprise us with how fantastic our meal was today). We tried the butter chicken sandwich, triple Cuban, BLT, the chicken pesto, and the turkey avocado panini. These are not classic deli sandwiches; they're on another gourmet level while still maintaining that homey, comforting feel. Each meal came with our choice of fries, salad, or soup. My lentil soup was the best I'v ever had, and my mother in law felt the same about her clam chowder. We can't wait to come back and try more of the fantastic menu! Thank you, Focaccia!

We were in town the morning after seeing the Firefail. Finally success on the third visit attempt. Amongst other shops on the desolate street stood an unremarkable window front where the repeat button has remained on since the 60s. Within was an eclectic mix of Japanese American household fixtures and Americana. Rustic. Nothing like Benkyodo's proper shelf presentation - or a hamburga stand. Some Japanese goods were on offer, but you come here for something sweet. We got a couple of mochi and manju, traditional red bean flavors, because that's all that was left. Their manju, seeming to have a different "batter" and "panini"-grilled, had a crumbly texture. The mochi though... Have you seen that viral video of that slapping mochi shop in Nara? What about people enjoying it? How soft it was, leaving a vegan cheese pull with every bite? This was by far the softest mochi I've ever had, and I thoroughly enjoyed the soy dusted yomogi. The bigger size of the mochi also accentuated the softness of the mochi. The matcha, also green, had a distincting different flavor, just so you know that the shop wasn't cheating. My partner in crime loved the lima bean mochi. The red bean filling tasted homemade, good flavor but not too sweet - the best compliment you can give an Asian in a world that remains overrun by pollo ala naranja. We are proud* that such a heritage perseveres on, especially in a part of town that's honestly become quite desecrated of life. Call ahead to see if the shop is open, and try to come early. The shop is a one woman show, and if my first two visits say anything, this lady enjoys having a life. And yes, she does sell out. She was nearly sold out when we visited. And try to enjoy the mochi ASAP. The mochi will last in the fridge. The texture will not. If you come at the right time of the year, the shop will have mochi in different fruit and pie flavors, and even ice cream mochi. *OK, "I'm proud of you" might be a bigger compliment to an Asian. And yes, there's Fugetsu in LA, but I haven't been. Though if you need a reason to visit the Fresno, you can always take the 99 traveling between SoCal and NorCal... Just need to be early if much is desired. If you're interested in AYCEat mochi, staying healthy, working out for free, and have an eye for the art of making mochi, may I suggest asking the owner for an apprenticeship?
