Don't expect to talk to any winemakers here. The selection of wines was average, tasting pours were tiny but in line with larger wineries, and the staff seemed knowledgable even if reading from a mental script. Their premium 'slaughterhouse' Shiraz was wonderful. We stopped off for a meal here as well, and picked up a lamb, and a chicken dish. Both were tasty, although the the rice with the chicken was undercooked and clustered into lumps. The dining room is located in a lovely space with exposed brickwork hosting local artwork you can buy off the wall, all in front of an open fire. I'd recommend this place for a meal, and not just because it's one of the very few places in the region in which you can sit down to eat. It's a great eatery in its own right. If you're sorted for food, pass this by when it comes to wine - there are lots of smaller, more welcoming wineries in the area.

I'm surprised this place doesn't have more reviews!…read more We did the 'Wharf to Winery' over the weekend which included a return paddle steamer cruise to the winery, a 2 course meal (your choice of which 2 courses between entree, main & dessert & 3 things to choose from in each section), a glass of wine, beer or soft drink & a wine tasting. It was FANTASTIC value! Not only were all our meals delicious but the service was unbeatable. Our drinks were never empty, meals came our in good time (with just enough of a break between courses), even though the restaurant was almost full & the servings were the perfect size. All 4 of us dining thoroughly enjoyed our meals, and the experience, and we're very much looking forward to taking more friends there in the near future.

Tiny bit crispy on the edges with perfectly soft cinnamon apple on the inside. The great thing is heaps of the ingredients are freshly supplied from their garden out the back or from local farmers. It looks like the menu changes from time to time and the blackboard showed a selection of dishes and starters. There were two meat options for main, those being chicken or pork, with another two vegetarian options. I chose the pork to go along with my Pinot noir and my wife had the grilled asparagus. The pork was roasted and very nice. Peas and broad beans accompanied along with a minty salsa verde. The winner of lunch however was the goats curd on my wife's plate. It was amazing! I would recommend this place and definitely come back. That said, there are many many options in the area. Booking ahead is a must. There are several 2/4 person tables and a couple of long tables. Walk-ins seem to get seated at the long tables. Groups are catered for and on the day we were there, there was a party group downstairs among the oak barrels.
