Staff were friendly from the get go and the atmosphere really relaxing and casual. The inside has simple decor and the restaurant is round with seating outside as well which seems perfect for the summer. The highlights: Pizza - heaps of prosciutto and rocket and the base was crispy but thin and soft enough that I even ate a few crusts! Apple pie crepes - the ice cream was really creamy and we really wanted to ask for another bowl of it by itself but actual crepes were great too. Tiny bit crispy on the edges with perfectly soft cinnamon apple on the inside. The great thing is heaps of the ingredients are freshly supplied from their garden out the back or from local farmers. When we got to the the car park it was packed and I thought that we wouldn't get a table as I hadn't booked. Much to our surprise once inside the entrance, they had renovated and there was a huge new dinning area and the wine tasting is now more spacious with lots of wine and country fare to tempt you. The new look was industrial yet country feel with rustic decor. Any way we thought we would just stop for a wine and some share platters that we've had before as there very nice. Once we sat down and got the menu and I saw the meals come out we quickly changed our minds. We got starters. Crumbed fennel and a tomato and goat cheese dish. The fennel was surprisingly good and the tomato and goat's cheese was like lasagna with out the pasta. It was very good. We ordered a bottle of red (stone dwellers Cab Sav) and our mains came out. I got the eye fillet. It was nice and thick, well cooked and a piece of caramelized onion herb butter on top. The steak was tender and heavenly to eat. Accompanied by some roaster potatoes and greens it was delicious. My partner got the lamb and white bean purée roast veggies and harissa. Which she enjoyed very much. But I gave her a piece of my steak and she was envious. As I had to drive I had a coffee and we thought we'd finish with the tasting plate from the dessert menu which included four small deserts on a plate. They were all nice but my pick of them was the lemon tart it was amazing. Slightly sour and a smooth filling and a crunchy biscuit base. I love the look of the new design and the food is a definite winner. The staff were very friendly and attentive to our needs. We will be back for sure.

It was FANTASTIC value! Not only were all our meals delicious but the service was unbeatable. Our drinks were never empty, meals came our in good time (with just enough of a break between courses), even though the restaurant was almost full & the servings were the perfect size. This is one of the more notable wineries in Heathcote, because you can buy a meal here as well…read more That's a welcome rarity in this wine region, however its popularity - also attributable to its position on Heathcote's central strip - means what you'll experience here is far more mainstream and slick than a lot of the smaller, boutique wineries out of town. Don't expect to talk to any winemakers here. The selection of wines was average, tasting pours were tiny but in line with larger wineries, and the staff seemed knowledgable even if reading from a mental script. Their premium 'slaughterhouse' Shiraz was wonderful. We stopped off for a meal here as well, and picked up a lamb, and a chicken dish. Both were tasty, although the the rice with the chicken was undercooked and clustered into lumps. The dining room is located in a lovely space with exposed brickwork hosting local artwork you can buy off the wall, all in front of an open fire. I'd recommend this place for a meal, and not just because it's one of the very few places in the region in which you can sit down to eat. It's a great eatery in its own right. If you're sorted for food, pass this by when it comes to wine - there are lots of smaller, more welcoming wineries in the area.
