My daughter is going to Sacred Heart Academy this fall. We went to Flynn's OHara on Saturday. We had the BEST customer experience ever. I am not new to the store. My daughter has attending an independent school since she was in kindergarten requiring me to frequent Flynn Ohara. But this Saturday our sales person was Andra. Not only did she smile and was extremely personable, but she knew so much about the uniforms and what was needed for Jade. In addition because of her lively youthful spirit, she connected well with my daughter. Before we knew it we were out in a flash ...from shirts to tights to shoes, blazers and blouses we got it all. SHOP IN EARLY JULY. I CAME THE SAME WEEKEND LAST YEAR AND IT WAS PERFECT. I could see how coming any later it could be crowded. Location is easy to get to right off of 495 in Plainview with plenty of parking. If you were in a wheelchair it would be challenging . I had a stroller and there wasn't a curb cut at the entrance and the walkway was narrow at the door. I had to lift the stroller up and down the curb. The curb cut was about a city block away and I opted to lift. Upon entrance I was greeted and told where to stand until my shopping assistant arrived. Chris was our personal shopper/assistant and he was amazing ~ he was very patient and I was a "needy" customer. I was purchasing my granddaughter's school uniform. She attends St Patrick's in Smithtown. Her uniform was changing due to her moving from kindergarten to first grade. She is also very slender and between sizes. She needed to try multiple sizes to try and find the best fit. Chris was very accommodating to my requests to try multiple sizes and gave good input/feedback about what was needed. To make things a little more challenging I was shopping not only with my 6 year old granddaughter but her twin two year old siblings. They were a little bit of a distraction for me and Chris never seemed bothered by me being pulled in a few directions while selecting her uniform. As for value ~ my bill was $609. If I'm being honest I was a little disappointed in the fabric of the cardigan sweater. It feels like a cheap polyester and I feel like it might not wash well. I bought one anyway because the school emblem was embroidered on the sweater. The rest of the uniform seamed to be better quality. I know from last year her uniform washed well. I wasn't sure of the sizes I bought the prior year and when I asked Chris dictrected me to the front of the store. The young man who assisted (unfortunately I don't know his name) he went out of his way to make me a list of everything with the sizes next to it and delivered it to me in the dressing room. This young man also held the door for me when he saw me struggling when I was leaving the store. My granddaughter kept calling Chris "the man". "Nana let me show the man" every piece of clothing she tried on she wanted to show the man and she did. Thank you Chris for your patience and help today you made my experience easier by being friendly and knowledgeable. read more

She gave us A1 service and didn't leave us hanging at the register or on the floor she answered every question helped us with sizing and even suggested other options. Their phone message states that their top priority is customer service. A business who truly values their customers would never allow customers to wait outside in a 90 degree heat wave just to get in the store. And then once inside to make a simple return, to be told to wait at the end of a checkout line with 15 people in front of you. Shame on F & O for taking advantage of the fact that they are pretty much the only game in town for school uniforms. For busy seasons, they need to add more registers and they need more personnel checking customers out. After calling the store numerous times, nobody picked up the phone, so I bypassed the line outside and walked in. Two stars given because the people who work here are nice and are doing the best they can under incredibly busy circumstances. read more

Employees are rude. They have an attitude like they don't want to be here working. And they act like that because people who need uniforms have no other choice but to go to them. Their sizes are also all wrong. Two different items can be two different sizes but measures up the same. I even put an XS fleece up against a S sweatshirt to show them that they are the same size after they said we have no clue what you mean. After I showed them. There was dead air like silence. They just don't care. An XS tshirt is like a 3T and a S is like a 5-6. Sucks that school require us to buy uniforms from them. Money suckers are wht they are. read more

Ridiculous, I actually took my son to his new school to be measured by one of the Flynn employees.. the sweatshirts are 2 sizes too small the shirts and 3 sizes too big.. is this a joke.. the guy took 10 seconds to measure my son. I was in there about 2 hrs ago, the employee was so rude. I say it as 1, because the other lady was very nice. The minute I walked in, there was no greeting, the rude woman spoke with an attitude, then when i said I was here for an exchange she rolled her eyes! Her lack of patience and rudeness was disgusting! I will not be going back! Its unfortunate that especially during the Holiday season you could come across some really rude miserable people! Purchased my kids uniforms in early July and the staff was very pleasant and helpful. I love that they use High School kids from all the catholic schools in the area, their insight to help my incoming freshman was very much needed and appreciated. I had to go back today (early September) to exchange a pair of shoes as my son grew over the summer. They exchanged it no problem. I witnessed parents treating one of the employees very poorly and giving attitude because they didn't have their daughters size in stock. Mind you this was the day before school starts, not the stores fault they don't have your size it's your fault for not going earlier. Anyway I was amazed at the employee being able to keep her composure, I can assure you at that age I wouldn't have been able as professional as she was. read more

I picked up the wrong size and had to return that evening to exchange them. I worked with Ursula, who not only exchanged the pants I purchased in the wrong size, but also made me whole on the pants that were ripped. Service was fast, friendly, and courteous! read more

I took my daughter to her school to be measured and when her jumper arrived it had no room whatsoever for her to grow in it. It was tight around her waist. I went to the store to exchange the jumper for a bigger size, purchase a few more and return two shirts and was very disappointed with the service. I overheard one of the cashiers telling her superior her experience with a previous customer that had just left the store, very rude! I am sure they will be happy not to have my business in the store since most of them looked annoyed and gave me the impression that they don't want to the job. The cashier that helped me was a young man who was kind but did not know much (mind you her superior was next to him) Since I had brought my 2 year old with me I did not want to go back and check through the store again to find the items I was forgetting to purchase (It took me a while to find the right size skort and the jumper) so I asked him If I could order online and pick up at the store, he said " I think so, you can check when you buy online and check out if there is the option" Why couldn't his superior next to him answer the question? wouldn't she know? I had a horrible experience with customer service today. The sales person was very rude. She was not a high school student that other people mentioned are friendly and polite. Rather, she was a middle-aged adult. When I told her that the skirt was too long, she insisted it wasn't. Then my daughter tried on one size that just fit. I had her try on the next size to give her a little room for growing. The next size was HUGE on her. It seemed like it went from a size 4 to a size 10. It asked if they were sized incorrectly or mismarked. The sales associate insisted they weren't. I asked if she could get another skirt for her to try on. She continued to insist they were sized correctly and begrudgingly got the skirt. Since I have no choice in where I can purchase my daughter's uniform, I spent $200. When we returned home, we realized that she gave us the wrong size!!!! The sales associate needs to realize that since I'm the one spending the money, I get to choose what size is best. read more

My twin boys used the loafers from Flynn and OHara. Within two months, the soles separated from the shoe - both boys. I returned them and they gave me two new pairs. Very nice. The sales guy says they have seen this before. I'm thinking a bad batch of shoes. Now 4 months later, the soles are separating again-both pairs. I brought them back and they said they can only replace them once, but would give me 20% off another pair. I told them something is wrong. I've had shoes for 6 years and never had the soles separate. No help offered. Suggest you buy them someplace else, since they don't stand behind the product. read more
