Just off the Clifton Triangle, Flying Saucers is traditional pottery painting café with a twist - an alien theme of course. The purple and green walls are complimented by aliens in the windows and the downstairs party area provides a nice homage to outer space.
I came here looking for a unique present for a friend and couldn't believe how easy it was to revert back to childhood, as I carefully picked a teapot from the shelf and promptly spent the next five hours painting it. As I was there I saw a kids party come and go, some women out on a hen weekend and a couple sat next to me, trying to convince their baby daughter to allow her feet to be dipped in paint and placed on a dinner plate.
For the price of £5, plus the cost of whatever you choose to decorate, Flying Saucers makes for a fun, quirky day out that makes a nice change from the norm. Suitable for kids, families and adults alike, this shop caters for large groups and can cater kids parties and offer group discounts.
The staff are friendly and even give encouragement when they see a design they like, which provides a nice ego boost when you haven't picked u a paintbrush in years. Firing can take a few days depending on when you visit and how much space there is in the kiln so you won't be able to leave with your work of art the same day. read more
