I thought long and hard about whether I wanted to leave a review or what I might say in a review…read more So, just know that it is with a heavy heart that I feel compelled, despite my instinct, to get my story out there. I was offered a job earlier this year directly from the principal. I was uncertain about the role but was deeply inspired by its prospects. Sensing my uncertainty, the principal invited me to speak with her recruiter, David, at Palo Alto Staffing. I spoke with David for several hours across several phone meetings. By all accounts, things were going smoothly. That was until I got a call from the very principal who offered me the job telling me that she was uncertain about moving forward. When I asked why, she told me that David told her I would be a liability and that I was unqualified for the role. Now, keep in mind, at this juncture David had articulated to me on more than one occasion that "there was no doubt in his mind that I could do the job." So, you can imagine my surprise when I learned he articulated the exact opposite story to the company. Moreover, I asked David as candidly as I could whether he was supporting and endorsing me for the role, to which he responded, unequivocally, "yes." Adding insult to injury, David expressed to the principal that he administered a test to me and that I failed that test. That is wholly untrue. Instead, David asked me one question over the phone regarding concerns relating to booking travel, and -frankly- my answer was far more sophisticated than his own. Somehow, David felt emboldened to translate that unstructured and cursory dialogue into a "test," that apparently I failed. The principal then told me that David put himself up for the job! Let me say that one more time so it sinks in. David, the recruiter, in the same email in which he disparages my professionalism and undermines my qualifications, submits himself for the role. Nevermind the obvious conflict of interest here, but if allegations of professionalism were my shortcoming, I can think of nothing more unprofessional than to overtly and explicitly betray the trust of the principal by simultaneously minimizing a candidate and then offering your own services in lieu of the candidate. In my final discussion with David, he instructed me to send the principal an email highlighting my enthusiasm for the role, and we planned for him to follow-up on that thread with his endorsement and a plan on next steps. Again, you can imagine my surprise when I sent the email he directed me to send, and David never responded. Curious, I sent him a text message and reminded him that I had sent the email. Still, no response. Instead, David decides to contravene everything he told me on the phone. It is worth noting there was one other individual in the discussion process who was an outside service provider for the principal. I called that person to ask what her and David discussed following our conversations that so dramatically altered the outcome. She told me she was, by all accounts, enthusiastic about me coming aboard. I was, yet again, shocked to discover that David never actually coordinated with this stakeholder, as he claimed he would. In other words, it never occurred to David that before he comes to the conclusion that I would be a liability to the principal, to check in with the one other person in the interview process. If that was insufficient for a review, let me add a few more notes. David insulted the principal to me! He criticized the size of her SFO. In the interest of placating him, I echoed his concerns, but I found it wholly inappropriate that he was insulting my putative boss. It was conveyed to me by a person whose privacy I would like to maintain that David may have intentionally torpedoed my candidacy for this role because I was sourced directly from the principal, perhaps calling into question whether he would be compensated on the hire. I cannot say if this is true or not, but at this juncture, it would not surprise me. I view David as a feckless sycophant, eagerly attaching himself to large-net-worth individuals and siphoning whatever value he can. I have a law degree with a certificate in corporate law. I've been working with DeWinter Group since mid-2021 and they got me a position with Lucid Motors,…read morewhere I stayed until my 18 months as a contractor timed out. Most recruiters/agencies these days provide some nominal benefits (medical coverage, PTO, etc). DeWinter provides a really generous medical plan, a few sick days and a (non-match) 401K, which are all better than what some regular employers offer - I was certainly grateful for having a 401K, matched or not, and though I didn't need the medical coverage, it is a generous plan for a reasonable price. Plus, they are allied with a lot of companies all over the Bay Area so there is plenty to choose from. Everyone I've worked with on the team is exceptional!! I receive at least 2 emails/day from the DeWinter team for amazing jobs that pay really well, and most are at least partially remote. They are all really helpful and work to negotiate the finer points with the client. I can't say enough great things about them - the recruiters and the support staff are phenomenal and are with their candidates every step of the way. I'm grateful to have been referred to them.

They offer great compensation, fast at setting up interviews and then they Disappear!!! Poor Communication. You must follow up with them several times. This company NEVER answers the phone and barely responds to emails. They give you dates on when they will get back to you and they NEVER do. While I understand they can't control the hiring managers final decision, they most certainly can control their communication and professionalism skills. I also understand that they are not able to disclose every single detail that the employer might be looking for, but they need to stop selling false narratives to hard working people looking to work. It's truly unfair to string people along. Again, COMMUNICATION IS KEY. DON'T WASTE PEOPLE'S TIME!!!! I will not recommend using this agency if you want to be updated with the status of your interviews or submissions. I will not be using this agency moving forward. Good Luck to those that want to waste their time and energy. Not ME, my time is too valuable and expensive. Thank you,

At first I thought it was some kind of scam as the name of the recruiting agency in the job ad was not Randstad. But that wasn't the case. I got in contact with Desiree. She did some looking around to see if she can find something for me that matched what I had on my resume. We then did a small interview over a video call & after she got to know me better she went above and beyond to try to find me a job. She actually found me a temporary assignment until she could find something long term. This gal was constantly updating me with whatever was going on via phone calls, emails, texts. She also helped me get set up in their system as everything is done online with them. She's very easy to work with & was able to get me a temp job, get me paid for my hours worked & I never had to go through the trouble of having to go to the office in person, though I wouldn't have minded meeting her officially. I eventually ended up finding a job on my own, but kudos to her and the team for trying to land me somewhere. The leads and interviews they were setting me up with were pretty good paying positions. If I'm on the job market again, I'm giving them a call.

My experience with LMG started on a positive note, with the exception that my recruiter pushed me…read moreto accept a lower salary than I felt I deserved. I was set to work a contract position for 6 months at a non-profit and was specifically told the number of hours constituting this work period that I was to work. Three months into my contract, my supervisor at the non-profit "reminded" me my contract was going to end in one month since the woman whose position I was filling while she was on maternity leave was supposed to return. However, this was news to me because my LMG recruiter, Fernando, informed me I was supposed to have a 6 month contract and not a 3 month contract. I was at first disappointed with the non-profit I worked at and not LMG because I assumed the non-profit was responsible for the miscommunication. But when I informed my supervisor that I was supposed to work for 6 months, she showed me the email correspondence with Fernando from LMG that mentioned the specific dates I was supposed to work. Her email specifically showed the dates for the 3 months I was supposed to work and not 6 months like Fernando told me. In the email thread she showed me, Fernando even responded to her and confirmed the 3 month-long contract. Therefore, Fernando showed a lack of professionalism and high level of incompetence by not communicating this important information to me. When I told Fernando that my contract would be ending early, he had the audacity to blame me for taking a vacation and said that must have been the reason they were terminating me early. This made absolutely no sense since I informed my supervisor of my vacation months in advance. He refused to take any kind of responsibility for the miscommunication that he was clearly responsible for. When I asked my supervisor whether my vacation had anything to do with my contract ending early, she assured me it didn't and said the employee returning from maternity leave was the only reason I couldn't work longer. This was one of my first professional experiences as a new graduate and I regret ever working through LMG, and it was extremely frustrating and negative.
