All week there was going to be chance of storms so we wanted to wait it out and see if it was going to be accurate or not. The cancellation policy on the day of is for weather only (rain, high winds etc). So it's now the day of a reservation (11-7) at 9 am and it's severe thunderstorm watch all day. I call at 9 and ask if we're able to get a full refund, they say no because they have to wait to see if it's going to be bad weather during our reservation time. Fair. I call back at 1045 to cancel because I see it's going to be bad all day, not worth going out at all for $750 or even a partial refund of 375 to go out for half the day. I was still charged the $100 cancellation fee even though the weather was no good. It's upsetting they tried to get me to do a half day on the water when an hour into our reservation it's been lighting. We live an hour away from this location so none of it made sense for us to commit to this reservation unfortunately. If you don't want to go through what I did with no sympathy, either book another company, but your own boat, or cancel 3 days ahead of time

Calling all bikers! If you have checked out the Gateway…read moreTrail, the Greenway and Cedar Lake Trail and are looking for something a little more quiet and rural feeling, this will be your jam! Leave your road bike at home and take out the cruiser, the cross or the mountain bike because this trail is crushed limestone the entire way. It is flat, shaded in parts, passing by lakes and between farm fields. Most of it you feel like you are out in the middle of beautiful nowhere. There is a parking lot at the trail head. There are porta-potty's strategically spaced along your ride. We came across maps occasionally. What was lacking were the hoards of people! Shhhhhhhhhhhh... maybe we should keep this a secret?! This trail goes 28.5 miles out to Winstead. Then you call a van to come get you? We didn't go that far as we had to make it back to the car at the trailhead. Twenty three miles round trip was plenty far for my burning legs. Whew. That was only half. I can only imagine how wonderful the other half might be. Someday... For those more hardcore, enjoy!!!!

Check the DNR website for entrances with parking lots and which areas are allotted for snowmobiles and horseback riding. The trail from Plymouth is crushed gravel and passes through mostly wetlands, hilly areas and light forests. There are some massive mansions not too far off on either side so you are advised not stray off the trails onto private property. The Long Lake entrance has a rough gravel parking lot and a porta potty!

White Sand Beach is a true hidden gem of a beach in the cities, especially for those who like to…read moresit back and take in the beauty of the Mississippi River that flows by the beach + nice hiking/walking trail before you find yourself at the beach and enjoying the spectacular views and soft natural sandstone sand! Bear in mind there is quite a few old firewood chips scattered all over the beach. A little annoying how they are scattered everywhere, but luckily it's not a huge issue, but just don't be surprised or disappointed when go. Seems like it's a popular spot for locals to host intimate bonfires, which I love this spot for a fun summer night bonfire with friends. Just make sure to "Leave No Trace" practice by cleaning up all bonfires and throwing away left over trash. Love that there's a few trash bins down by the beach! Overall great place to check out!!
