How often do you have the opportunity to board a small open hangar craft and feel the wind blow by you as you soar over the world beneath you?! Not often at all. Mike was our pilot. He must be one of the friendliest guys I've ever encountered in quite some time. He gave us some nifty leather caps and a mic set so we could talk and hear from each other throughout the flight. You can tell Mike really gets a kick out of the joy others experience through flying with him. What I appreciated the most about this experience was how the plane was constructed. One of the engines on the DC3 needs to be rebuilt, so they were not scheduling flights until today! I booked this flight over a month ago on their website for my wife and I. Well, we got stiffed. Since booking, I have continually checked the website for updates and the only message they had was that April was when they would resume flights. I tried calling them several times the week prior and left messages to check on the status of the plane. They sent me a confirmation email on the day before the flight. So, we go to Chino Airport and they are a no show. On top of that, no one at the airport knows about them nor this service. Worse, they sell tickets to the Yanks Air Museum on their website as part of the booking process. They even go as far as calling this day "Open Cockpit Day" at Yanks Air Museum. The folks there did not honor the tickets I purchased from the website and knew nothing about them selling the tickets. This company betrayed our trust, and there is no way to get a refund that I can determine. What a shame!!!
