Just got hit with (one more :) ) biggest scam of life, would not have gone there but for insurance…read moreassigning them to me. Their technician explained something else to me, and sent something else to insurance. Insurance denied the charges and offered petty cash out option (-$20) to me. The overall cost to fix itself was very high as compared to the other quotes I got so I ended up walking away with petty amount of cash out option. They looked very disturbed that I spoke with my insurance company and told me that I created confusion then hung-up the phone after spitting out that my insurance plan sucks and I should simply take cash out option or pay what they quoted. I then called the insurance and asked to upgrade for future issues and they said none of their plan covers what they were proposing to fix (which is unnecessary totally). Found this post while searching for their reputation on the net after the experience and found that they have D level rating on BBB as well. Well, we usually don't have choice when insurance is assigning them. I am also cancelling my insurance since they hire D level contractors who can participate in such scams.

My insurance contacted Big Dawg Mechanical and the representative said this needs to be escalated to upper management/technician and that they would call me back in 24 hours. It's now going on 72 hours and still no word back.

We were terrified at the possibility of what could be wrong. We called Tom at TLC plumbing and he came over that afternoon. After a lot of investigation including sending a video camera down our pipes, he was able to find the culprit! Some lovely raspberry bushes that I had planted a decade earlier literally cracked the pipe leaving our home and created a 70% blockage. After the diagnosis, Tom suggested replacing that section of pipe along with an exterior cleanout trap to keep such nastiness from happening in the future. If you are looking for a genuinely good, fair and professional plumber who also lives in the Dallas Area, look no further than TLC plumbing!!!

I had other plumbing companies give me all sorts of crazy quotes and extra add on to my problem and stress level. Tons of water being leaked underground. I had the report from the water company and the other plumbers still did not know what to do to fix the problem, my problem lasted 6 weeks due to all the other plumbers. Finally, I called TLC Plumbing and was able to reach Tom, and he sent out his representative right away, who, gave me a fair price for the job, after his representative talk with me and explained everything that needed to be done, to install a new waterline. I was able to hire TLC right away for this job and TLC Plumber Tom fixed my waterline leak the next day. Tom's crew were friendly straight to the point and honest about my issue. Did not exaggerate the problem like other plumbers did. If you want plumbers who know what they are doing, get right to work, and are honest, with professional grade work, these guys are your go to. I am so relieved that the water line leak issue are job is completed, such great work! I am going to refer everyone I know to this company who need services. Thank You Again to TLC! TKO Plumbing did a great job again. Had them here a year and a half ago to replace the home…read morepressure regulator. That's why I called them back today. Came home and found the front planting beds covered with water. I was hoping that my wife just over watered the front plants. Not so lucky! I went down in my basement and shut off the incoming water valve (next to the incoming water line that services my home), and still heard running water on the other side of the cement wall. Not good, at this point knew I had a broken service line. Went up to the street and turned off the water at the county water meter. I started to dig up my planting beds to find the leak. I decided (at my age), that I'd rather just pay a plumber to fix the problem. I called TKO Plumbing and got an appointment later in the afternoon. John and his partner (sorry, don't remember your name) called exactly 30-minutes before they arrived. Told John what I found and they started to finish the excavation of about another foot of dirt. They found the leak at a broken elbow just outside the exterior wall. They fixed in no time, but had to wait an hour for the glue to dry before re-applying the water pressure at the water meter. Works fine, and will hopefully last a long time. Real happy with the company's quick response and the work the guys did. Will continue to use TKO Plumbing for all my future Plumbing needs.

I genuinely enjoyed and appreciated his support throughout the entire process. I originally contacted another company with higher online ratings, but they couldn't get anyone out the same day. I decided to give Plumb Doc a shot despite their slightly lower rating--and I'm really glad I did. The service I received was absolutely 5-star level. Brian came out quickly and accurately diagnosed the issue: a pin-sized hole in one of the PVC pipes underground in our front yard that feeds the house. We had noticed water running down the driveway and weren't sure if it was just runoff from recent rain or a broken pipe, especially since temperatures had been below freezing. Brian confirmed it was a leak by shutting off the water to the house and checking the meter--we were still using water. From there, Brian walked me through multiple options, ranging from a full pipe replacement to a targeted repair. I was dealing with family health issues at the time and needed the fastest, least disruptive solution so I could focus on being at the hospital. Brian really stepped up. He suggested bringing in a leak-detection specialist using sonar equipment to pinpoint the exact location. It added a few hundred dollars upfront but would save time, money, and yard damage in the long run. We went with that option, and it worked exactly as promised. That evening, a gas technician came out to mark the gas lines, the leak-detection team arrived the next morning, and Brian dug a very small area and replaced the damaged pipe on day two. He even worked past dark to finish the job. Plumb Doc handled everything--all scheduling, coordination, and follow-through. Brian personally made sure every vendor piece was handled correctly. A few days later, after the clay had settled, Brian came back to fill in the hole--even though we had already paid. He even offered to buy a bag of mulch to cover the area, which we declined since we planned to re-mulch anyway. The leak is fully fixed, no more water loss, and the price was completely reasonable. Throughout the process, Brian kept me informed via text, sent photos, and made sure I always knew what was happening. Beyond the technical skill, he's just a genuinely good guy--someone you'd grab a beer with. Too often, you talk to a company owner and then get sent a low-quality crew. That did not happen here. I couldn't be happier with the service and would absolutely recommend Plumb Doc to friends and family. A lot of people give 5 stars for just expected service, so I want to make it clear that this job exceeded my expectations and truly earned their 5 stars.

However, it seems like every time the techs come out, they find something wrong that has to be fixed and it costs hundreds of dollars. Being a member, we get a discount, but their prices are so inflated, it isn't like getting a discount at all. We have been talked into the Captura System which was extremely expensive, and they did NOT tell us that you have to replace the UV bulbs every 2 years and those are VERY expensive. They want us to buy our filters from them and even with their discount, their pricing is almost 4 times what I can get the filters for online, so I always opt to buy them online instead. If we need them for something that is considered an urgent or emergency call, we get charged $59.99 instead of their normal $89.99 and they still have to work you in. It just seems like they use words that are over our heads and we have to take their word for it. I'm not saying they are dishonest, I just think they've been trained to try and sell you on more and more goods. They've told us we need to have the ducts cleaned out yet the Captura system was supposed to help you avoid that. They've told us we need a surge protector and blower wheel cleaning. We have had many things done to this system which is only 7 years old. It must have been the bottom of the line system because we've had to replace the defrost board, motor power pack, capacitor, thermostat, 5 dampers that stopped working, and we had a leak in the pan which overflowed onto our son's ceiling and we had to have the ceiling replaced and repainted. Then they installed a switch so it wouldn't overflow anymore but it was faulty and it overflowed ruining his ceiling again - this time I made them pay to have it fixed and repainted (which they did). We also had a larger line installed because the line was getting clogged and we had to have it flushed. I realized we've had it flushed every 11 months and each time it's almost $300 - I thought the larger line was supposed to eliminate that??? We also had to get a new hot water heater this year and he told us the pressure valve also had to be replaced at $500 just for that - all in all $2800 and he said it was because of the tarrifs that what was once quoted at $1500 had now almost doubled. I really don't believe that to be true. In any case, I'm seriously thinking of getting rid of our service contract and looking elsewhere.
