What's so ladyboner about this place is, not only are the employees friendly and knowledgable regarding just about every flower imaginable (and can GET it for you!), but they'll come up with the perfect arrangement for you in case you have no clue what to get on your own. Well, ANY hack flower shop can do that, right? Well, not every shop has employees who have nice penmanship for when you want to include a written message apologizing for totaling your boyfriend's car or going to a secret bachelor party that ended up on Youtube for your fiancée to discover while she searched for videos on how to do cornrows. Whether you need flowers to say "I love you" or "I'm sorry" to one person, or congratulate or apologize to the entire city of Beverly Hills (and thus need Flowers by Michael to arrange an event), this shoppe is the real, cop-a-feel deal. Prices are surprisingly affordable considering both the location of the store, the services rendered, and the prettiness of the shoppe itself. Delivery is only fifteen dollars if your squeeze lives en ville. What are you waiting for? Get to ordering. Okay, to be fair I haven't been here in years and years (umm, 11 to be exact). And to be even more fair I was but a young pup (the tender age of 22) the last time I bought flowers here and my tastes were not as refined. So why the 5 stars? I mean come on Nick what's the deal? The deal is I remember then having the most beautiful rose bouquets. Simple, classic, absolutely gorgeous - some of the finest roses. Now back 11 years ago a dozen roses ran about $100 so no telling what they cost today - but let me tell you they were worth it. I know they also do weddings, arrangements, etc but I can't speak to that (though you get the feeling this is a very artistic and high-end establishment). I used Yelp to track down this little gem. My grandfather slipped on a crack in the pavement, and I wanted to send some get well soon (but masculine) flowers to cheer him up. Sad grandpa. So I yelped local florists, and this one seemed to have the best reviews in the area without being too pricey. Just placed an order today with Karen, she was very friendly and helpful. My first question was, "What is your delivery minimum?" and it was $40 which was great. I used their website to get an idea of their items and she kindly told me which ones she liked and which ones were really small. I was considering a $65 pom pom arrangement that looked great on the web, but she said in real life it was the size of a coffee cup - she saved me some pain! I ended up selecting an $85 sunflower arrangement that she suggested softening up with roses and I told her to do it but keep the same price range. She did and took $3 off the $15 delivery charge as well. For delivery on the Westside I definitely will use these folks again! it's hard to find a florist you can trust without having seen their work in person, but I have a good feeling about these guys :) read more

This place seems very nice when you call. They may even give you a deal on the phone for buying more than one arrangement. I did this, and one of the arrangement swas so bad, it had to be returned. (The other one was great!) When it was returned, they charged me for (2) delivery fees...deliver fees I didn't even know existed, as I was not told I would be charged for delivery (even to 2 addresses, both within 7 minutes of the store) on a $220+ order. Let's just say customer service is NOT their forte. They are rude on the phone once they have your business if you have any problems, and I've now been dealing with the credit card company out of sheer principle to get $20 back! read more

I love this florist. We've been ordering from them for years. I no longer live in the bay area but always call in to place orders when I need flowers for my family in Los Angeles. Since I can't look at the flowers, they ask we what I want to give and then put something together for me in my price range. This time I asked for Orchards and she proposed smaller so it would work with my price range. She asked me if I preferred a color and I said no, just pick whatever looks the best. I love this florist! We ordered orchids for my Mom. My mother was going through a very hard time because her husband (my Dad) was hospitalized and (obviously) so sick. The orchids arrived at the hospital (early) and absolutely thrilled my mother as well as the nursing staff. They were absolutely gorgeous. THE WORST FLOWERS EVER! I am so EMBARRASSED for sending these flowers to my boss's (who is a high profile actor) wife for delivering a baby. These flowers were DEAD! The leaves were brown and flowers looked wilted and the whole arrangement was SLOUCHED over. I sent two flower arrangements from two different people BUT both arrangements had the same names on them! Used them for a low-key small Easter brunch - thought it would be easy. Saw an arrangement on their site that would work well w/ my table, called them a week in advance to ask if the arrangement could be done in purple, told them I didn't care what flowers would be used, just make it like the arrange on their site and be sure it's purple. The arrangement image also showed a brown vase. I asked for the same vase and if that wasn't available, said a brown basket would work (florists have tons of these as their cheap.) They told me they had lots of baskets as well as fresh seasonal purple flowers. What came? An arrangement of bright yellow roses and blue and white hydrangeas in a large concreate Italianate container with elaborate details and swirls. Although it was beautiful, I had to disassemble, use some of their flowers with purple flowers I had, rearrange and use my own container. I placed an order of $180 red roses today (on behalf of my boss) and the recipient's name was misspelled (even though I had taken the time to spell it out to Fausta, the florist who took the call). When I placed the order, I asked to have a receipt sent to me via e-mail immediately and did not receive it till the end of the business day which is when I realized the spelling mistake. When I called to inquire about the mistake, Fausta got defensive and was very quick to tell me that I was lucky to have my order accommodated since they are a very busy flower shop and that I was making a "bigger deal out of this mistake than it really is". She also made a comment that her name is the "toughest name to spell in the world" and that she "does not get upset when people misspell it." Naturally, I had a response and this prompted me to create an account and submit my review on Yelp. So here goes! For one, if they are too busy to take orders, they should simply inform the customers as I, for example, would have been happy to take my business elsewhere under those circumstances. Secondly, who cares if people misspell your name, you're the seller, I'm the customer - hence, I'm the one that PAID for a service that YOU provide. Thirdly, I can only speak from my own experience, but I would hate to receive flowers addressed to someone else. Call me crazy, but in my personal opinion, flowers arriving at my home addressed to another woman would not be my idea of a happy moment. Fourthly, you also misspelled my name! Hence, if you are going to play the "human error" card, perhaps you should rethink the rude, defensive attitude you exhibited throughout the duration of our phone conversation. Lastly, your offer to apologize to the recipient is the LEAST you could possibly do - that should not have even been a question! It is incredible that you made it seem like you were doing this as a favor to me. I don't think I have ever had such an unpleasant experience with a flower shop (and believe me, I order from a lot of flower shops because of the nature of my industry). Not only are florists in the business of spelling names and messages on a regular basis, but also florists are in the business of ensuring flowers get delivered in a prompt manner. Today is not even a peak holiday so it seems absurd for Flowers by Michael to use that as an EXCUSE to justify their lack of tact, professionalism, and customer service skills. My firm and I will most definitely take our business elsewhere as there are plenty of flower shop options "in prime Beverly Hills" (one of the many references that Fausta used during our phone conversation to justify her mistake). In closing, I would like to thank Flowers by Michael for proving that they certainly DO NOT live up to their mission of "going the extra mile to make [a] gift perfect" even with their 60+ years of business promoted on their website. For the reasons stated above and a few others that I don't have time to write about, I am rating this flower shop with 1 star. read more

OMG this is the BEST florist! Not just for the friendly service - but the beautiful floral arrangments. I asked for flowers for a male friend who is ill and they sent me a photo of an exquisite arrangement of - I'm not even sure what they were!
