I'm honestly a little shocked (in the best way) at how large and stunning the bouquet was for the price point I requested ($100). Delivery was an additional $10, which I feel is very standard. A few points worth addressing: - You explained that the flat rate is 'justifiable' due to gas and insurance. I live one mile away. A 3-minute round trip for $14 works out to roughly $280/hour in delivery overhead. If gas prices have risen enough to justify that, we are apparently in an end of the world crisis that I was not aware of. Last I checked gas was $3.75/gallon. I understand costs exist; I questioned whether this structure is reasonable. Those are different things. The current zip code model disproportionately favors customers further away from you, and brings unreasonable costs to your closest neighbors. - You suggested I simply pick up in-store. I wanted a delivery service. A business that responds to delivery pricing concerns with 'just come get it yourself' has missed the point entirely. - You mentioned this affects livelihoods which is precisely why customer feedback about pricing exists. If a potential customer can't get through the checkout process, that is livelihood-relevant information. A business open to that feedback might have earned a customer. This response ensured you won't. - You closed with 'We'll be praying for you.' To a stranger who flagged a pricing concern. I'll let that speak for itself. - I wish your staff well, but a business that responds to unconverted customers with condescension and prayer has bigger challenges than my review. My mom's best friend lives in Melbourne FL, so this is the florist we always use to send flowers for various occasions. (My mom and her friend have everything they need, so beautiful flowers enrich the holidays.) I've posted a photo of the floral arrangement my mom's friend received and it's beautiful. The difference this time is that they had in the past given a no-delivery fee promo if you ordered online. This time my mom was charged a delivery fee. I called the florist directly to ask if there had been a computer glitch. Instead I was told that they could no longer offer the promo due to rising costs, the price of vehicle expenses and so on. Of course I completely understand and it was just a sad reminder that our economy is struggling. We will continue to use this florist and support it for the beautiful and thoughtful arrangements my mom has ordered over the years. I ordered flowers from here as gifts for my family members to give out at my retirement ceremony. I ordered 2 dozen roses, (including a purple colored dozen) 4 pink corsages, 2 sets of 3 carnation arrangements, 2 hydrangea arrangements, (including one that was added the day before delivery) 4 days before the ceremony. I did not get to see the arrangements until I was handing them out because I arrived seconds before the ceremony began. Imagine my HORROR when I saw the perfection in each and every flower had in them. The love, the care.... I have NEVER HAD or seen more beautiful arrangements in my life! THE NERVE OF THEM TO READ MY MIND! It was like they knew of my OCD mannerisms and level of difficulty to please! I was OUTRAGED!!! Not only did I notice, but my grandmother could see it too! The tears in her eyes said everything. After all, this was not her first flower rodeo. I had sent them to her from other shops on many occasions before. As I looked into the sobbing eyes of my grandmother, I could only tell her, "Don't cry Grampy.... it will be okay."
