This weekend i had the honor of being a bridesmaid in a beautiful wedding; however, this wedding…read moredid not happen without hiccups that were caused by Big Top. As an outside observer who works in customer service and event planning i simply cannot recommend this company. * the tent company insisted that they did not need to come out to check the site, despite being told about a tree that might be an issue. Big top then blamed the customers for the time lost in removing branches, stating that their sub par set up was due to this time constraint. They should have sent a consultant to look at the site then the groom brought up his concerns, instead of ignoring his request for a site visit. * the tent company placed the dance floor directly next to the edge of the tent leaving no room for the dj booth. When the event planner called to have this fixed, the woman on the phone (they were on speaker phone so i was able to hear her tone) was rude and blamed the tree issue/time constraint on this poor set up. The wedding planner was very professional and considerate to the big top employee but she was apathetic and frankly seemed annoyed. *The wedding planner then asked if there could be a safety ledge around the dance floor because it was sharp metal edge that and was uneven, without a small metal ramp that would provide a safe entry to the dance floor for all of the guests. The woman at big top said that wasn't a problem and yet the equipment/safety edge never showed up when Big Top sent someone to move the dance floor. The gentleman explained it wasn't on the order form and that it was an extra charge. An extra charge would have been fine, but Big Top should have included this information when the order was placed initially and again when we called for help fixing the dance floor. The woman who answered the phone at Big Top represents the company. She should genuinely care that people are spending a lot of money to create beautiful memories. Instead of being rude, abrasive, and leaving out important information, she should understand that for many people, their wedding day is the first time they have ever had to rent from a company like them. It should be clear when things are included. When you purchase a dance floor you shouldn't have to think about as the customer, "will this be safe for grandma to get onto?" * after hearing this conversation between the wedding planner and Big Top, I walked around and noticed that many tables were wobbly, not from uneven ground but from being broken. There were large chunks of wood taken out of the tops of tables, the chairs which were painted white, had marks all over them where they had clearly been scuffed and broken and repaired. Many lights were missing from the top of the tent and/or blown. The rentals are not in good shape and they are embarrassing. Big Top should be embarrassed about the quality of their service and the quality of their products. I will never rent from them, and neither will the wedding planner. Many of these things could have been fixed if the woman on the phone was more receptive and helpful, but many things are just sending out a poor product. How disappointing. Big Top Tents, i hope you read this and think about making some changes to your business; we had fun regardless because we are good, hardworking people, who can make the best of any distraction, but i urge you to do better.

They set up the tent a few days before my event and took it down the day after it ended, The tent was clean and exactly as described. Not sure what else I can really say, but it was a great experience working with them, and I would definitely use them again for future events.

I hired Linda a year before my wedding. It's my first wedding, i have no clue what i'm doing, and…read morei'm a mom, work full time, and go to school full time. So needless to say, i put a lot of trust into her to help coordinate and facilitate. I had my initial appointment with her, which went well. She told me she was going to do all these things, and help with all these things. After that very first appointment, i started to immediately notice that she didn't follow through with the things she was saying. I had to stay on top of her asking if she did this or that, and the answer was always no with some excuse. Then she started canceling appointments. About 3 months in, i wrote Linda an e-mail expressing my concerns. I felt that my wedding wasn't a priority for her and if she was to busy with other clients to please let me know. She swore up and down she would get better about keeping appointments and giving my wedding the attention it deserves. Well, that was a lie too because she continued to cancel appointments. In the 6 months that i hired her and was paying her monthly, she did not keep 1 single appointment with me (besides the initial one to rope me in), and did not do a single thing to help plan my wedding. She never contacted vendors, never visited the venue, wasn't having monthly meetings with me, she literally did nothing. So finally 6 months in, i gave her one more chance, and i said if she cancelled this venue appointment i was firing her. Low and behold, 4 days before the reservation to visit the venue (for the 5th time) she cancelled. So i told her i was cancelling our contract for all of the above reasons. Linda quickly became very rude and acting very better then. She had excuses after excuses after excuses. She refused to give me so much as a penny back, she told me i just didn't understand billable hours and that i wasn't entitled to get any of that money back. I payed her $900 over 6 months. She did however offer me $250 to not write a bad review, which i declined because i would rather warn the next bride and keep her from wasting her money and adding a lot of stress.
