This is a review that has been a long time coming. I got married in April of this year at Forest House Lodge in Foresthill and I hired Shannon (Flourish) to do the job for my flowers, centerpieces and table decor. Let me say she is fantastic to work with! Being someone who knows very little about the flower business, I really didn't know what to expect or even what to pick for my big day. I know what kinds of flowers I like in general, but not until I talked to Shannon did I realize there were soo many options! You never realize how much time and creativity goes into preparing these little works of art until you yourself is tasked with having to pick out flowers for some special occasion. My wedding was prohibition themed and I knew I wanted colors that portrayed an art deco appeal with colors that popped. I know red is a very traditional color, but I love the color red in flowers and I knew I wanted that as my main flower color. I also knew I wanted to incorporate vintage style brooches through my bouquet. Now how were we going to do all of this I thought?? I felt like maybe it seemed like the colors I had in mind may be too much. After discussing to Shannon my theme and vision of utilizing a retro vintage inspired color palette, she came up with red as the main color just as I wanted with pops of blue/green and hints of purple. She even used purple thistle which is the Scottish national emblem to add a more personal touch since my hubby is Scottish American. We incorporated that romantic era theme by adding mercury glass candle votives on the accent tables and dining tables, along with rose petals scattered though out. Everything came out sooo beautiful and romantic. Much more beautiful than I even imagined. I had many people complimenting all the beautiful arrangements and at the end of my wedding I gave many away. I still have friends who have dried the flowers from my day and have them on display in their homes! I would def refer anyone to Shannon. Once you meet her in person, you see she is just as bubbly and personable in person as on the phone and through email. She most definitely cares about her clients and it is apparent she really loves what she does! I hope some day I can use her services again. read more

We had a consult with Flourish...needless to say we did not walk away satisfied or interested in the service of this company. We LOVE that wedding vendors speak their minds, but this vendor continually told us that the suggestions or ideas we had were "childish". Also when we would say what our vision was she would say "that's nice, but I have an idea that is better." or "okay, but here is what I thinking." Nothing we said seemed to matter. More proof of that was the fact that we specifically started with "WE WANT NO ROSES." she wrote it down, but then continually suggested throwing in roses. UPSETTING!
