She is notoriously picky about her cakes, so much so that she usually just makes them herself, and she LOVED this cake! The only minor thing that we would have liked to change, was that there was a couple of small chocolate shards artfully displayed on the top, and we'd been counting on it being plain because that's how it was described on the menu online, and when we tried to remove the pieces it started to mess with the beautiful icing - so we just left it. As someone who is more introverted, the crowd was a bit overwhelming at first, but it eventually cleared out and became a very comfortable place to relax. The staff were also incredibly kind. Since I had never tried a macaron before, I ordered a rose macaron to taste, and it was absolutely delicious. They also gave me a complimentary sample of their coffee, which was excellent. It was the house blend. And the bags they sell are very reasonably priced. The café is very well priced, with drinks ranging the $5-8 mark, and the foods ranging $3-8- and the quality of the food and drinks are quite rich in taste! I felt like it threw away $7. It was very watery and the syrup tasted off. This is usually my go-to at other shops but I just couldn't drink this at all.
