Wow. It's amazing what you can do with an Arby's! This addition to the Colfax dining experience, opened in 2018, gives people traveling from Spokane to Pullman a place to rest, relax and grab a superior cup of coffee. They have a good selection of muffins and pastries, so if you are hungry, you can add one of these to your coffee order. They have oat milk and almond milk but not soy. The soft chairs are really comfortable and there are enough for two (or maybe even three) groups of people to use them at the same time. If you are a Colfax local, this is a delightful place to meet with friends and socialize. There is outdoor seating and a good-sized parking lot. They have a frequent customer rewards program. Next time I'm in Colfax, I will definitely stop in for a coffee. read more

This was a surprising find in the middle of this Smallville. What looks like once a fast food chain, inside the modern decor renovations makes this coffee joint a really cool hangout ~ comfortable living room seating, bar top seating around the roaster, and free WiFi to browse and lounge. Thumbs up ~ the gentleman was courteous and conversational, good hometown hospitality. Mini Donuts ~ pricey, but this community is lucky to have someone make these fancy bites. Oddly, they were served on a table napkin making it difficult to carry. (Donut lady could use some service training.) Coffee ~ standard & smooth. What a pleasant surprise finding the combination of great coffee and phenomenal service. The owners of the Potting Shed recommended this as being the best coffee shop in town. So we tried it. It is phenomenal! We were helped by Nick and he met us with a warm smile and helped us through their many offerings. I went with a Kombucha and my friend went with an regular hazelnut americano. She said it was quite possibly the best americano she has ever had. They make their own syrups. Chatting with Nick, he shared that they are normally closed on the weekend but because of the event, they would be open this Saturday at 7:30. I shared that I had to be at the function by that time and he suggested that I check in on my way to the function to see if their preparation was complete. I walked in at 6:35 and was greeted with a smile and the update that he was testing the setup. He promptly prepared my order while continuing our conversation from Friday afternoon. The combination of great coffee and a level of friendliness and service makes this a memorable experience and an easy recommendation. It is well worth the effort to try. read more

Their 4.5 stars is an accurate rating in my opinion. I upped it to 5 for their service and decor. Located pretty much in the middle of town, it is a true community hub. You get to vote for the monthly charity. How's that for community invokvement?! There's a microroaster on one end of the shop, surrounded by a counter with seats. Made me think that the roasting is an event to be witnessed? That would be pretty cool. Their espresso was clean and somewhat sweet. It wasn't a surprise when the barista told me that they use Ethiopian beans. I also had their spicy chai which was pretty good as well. Oh yeah, check out what the medium size looks like before ordering. It's huge. The surprise came when they presented us with a flight of mini donuts that someone else paid for, saying, welcome to Colfax! Gotta love the small towns. And thanks for giving me the opportunity to pay it forward as well. All the donuts were good, except for what I assume was the seasonal, with some minty mixture. That one didn't work. read more

We stopped in on a road trip and enjoyed great coffee here. Both the drip coffee and espresso we had were excellent. Hanging out at the counter, I had a clear view of the barista's work, which was skillful and meticulous. I was just looking for any coffee shop, but clearly found a special one here. The sign in the door states that the business will not be following the law and will not be enforcing the current mask mandate with staff or patrons. I know this may be appealing to half of the population, and I'm completely fine with that, but I'm unfortunately on the other half that is going to choose (as is my free right) not to shop here ever again. I'm not sure why wearing a mask on your face was the reason you chose to disenfranchise half of your potential customer base but I'm sure you have legitimate reasons. Excellent coffee with very hospitable staff. They served us Apple Cup weekend even though we were wearing Husky gear . It has an interesting ambience that reflects the agricultural and handcrafted nature of their drinks. The roasting apparatus is also prominent in the store. The drinks take a little more time, cost a little more, and are produced slowly. But my cold brew was extraordinarily good. It looks like a newer place, so maybe they're working out some of the efficiency kinks. read more
