What a pleasant surprise finding the combination of great coffee and phenomenal service. The owners of the Potting Shed recommended this as being the best coffee shop in town. So we tried it. It is phenomenal! We were helped by Nick and he met us with a warm smile and helped us through their many offerings. I went with a Kombucha and my friend went with an regular hazelnut americano. She said it was quite possibly the best americano she has ever had. They make their own syrups. Chatting with Nick, he shared that they are normally closed on the weekend but because of the event, they would be open this Saturday at 7:30. I shared that I had to be at the function by that time and he suggested that I check in on my way to the function to see if their preparation was complete. I walked in at 6:35 and was greeted with a smile and the update that he was testing the setup. He promptly prepared my order while continuing our conversation from Friday afternoon. The combination of great coffee and a level of friendliness and service makes this a memorable experience and an easy recommendation. It is well worth the effort to try.

A flight dozen of the mini donuts.

Their 4.5 stars is an accurate rating in my opinion. I upped it to 5 for their service and decor. Located pretty much in the middle of town, it is a true community hub. You get to vote for the monthly charity. How's that for community invokvement?! There's a microroaster on one end of the shop, surrounded by a counter with seats. Made me think that the roasting is an event to be witnessed? That would be pretty cool. Their espresso was clean and somewhat sweet. It wasn't a surprise when the barista told me that they use Ethiopian beans. I also had their spicy chai which was pretty good as well. Oh yeah, check out what the medium size looks like before ordering. It's huge. The surprise came when they presented us with a flight of mini donuts that someone else paid for, saying, welcome to Colfax! Gotta love the small towns. And thanks for giving me the opportunity to pay it forward as well. All the donuts were good, except for what I assume was the seasonal, with some minty mixture. That one didn't work.

My wife and I's favorite coffee shop in the area, including Pullman and Moscow. While there are other really good coffee shops around Purpose Roasters standouts as the best for a few reasons. Their service is always exceptional and friendly. Their coffee is always very good and on another level. Their syrups are homemade with seasonal flavors that are unmatched in the area. So whether you want a great cup of drip coffee, an amazing latte, or a phenomenal sweet treat Purpose Roasters is the place to go.

Great atmosphere. Beautiful big windows with view of Main Street. They have lovely decor. The coffee is very good. They have a small selection of house-made baked goods. Gelato is also available. There is a collection of hats, shirts, brewing machines for purchase. Very pleasant experience here.

Black and Tan latte - aka: caramel and black pepper

An awesome and fun addition to the main downtown! The atmosphere and coffee is awesome - I particularly enjoyed the Black and Tan latte, and the iced lemon vanilla latte. Lots of good options on the menu, local products, house made flavors and snacks, and the proceeds going to a different community cause each month makes me excited to come back! Staff was engaging, friendly, and happy to help explain and promote their product.

Literally the best coffee in Whitman County. I go there everytime i go to my grandparents house. So good. Spicy chai is the best drink.

It was a very useful training session for my Aussie. She got lots of pets from the other patrons, and good exposure. Nobody seemed to mind her occasional whine or bark. Will definitely be going back if I'm in town!

Loved this cute cafe. WINNING!! While we didn't have our pups with us, I enjoyed checking out all the furry-friendly-pups who were well behaved. My dog would absolutely love this place! There's a big open-table seating in the back with short walls for dogs to have a play date while pup-parents sip on coffee or eat. It's great!! We ordered basic breakfast and coffees. The portions were ample! My husband and I shared and both felt full. The lines got long as we waited, but that was to be expected, and staff were running around serving. While our food arrived before our drinks, we understood: they were slammed and probably didn't expect as many folks, but after Apple Cup, it was NUTS with the amount of Alumni and fans from both UW and WSU in small-town Pullman. Food was great, and coffee was good, but the ambience is the best! Especially for dog-lovers.
