You will find something tol fulfill your every craving, from a passionfruit tart to lamb & rosemary pie to their candied walnuts. Thankfully their price tags prevent me from making decisions my metabolism will regret, though it means I haven't tried much of their offerings. On a special occasion, I called in to order a small flourless chocolate cake (34) - an easy choice when choosing for a chocolate lover. I was rather excited, as I'd never been able to justify going to Jocelyn's Provisions "just because." The flourless chocolate cake is a dense chocolate cake with chocolate nuts, and toffee and praline bits. Not having looked at the pictures too closely previously, we were all impressed with the sugar lattice on the cake. Although a bit of a strange combination to have paired chocolate with a sugar lattice (flavour-wise), it was a lovely touch to the cake. It says online that the small cake is for 6 people, but we managed to make eight pieces, with all of us being satisfied (and even having some difficulty finishing the cake after dinner at Siam Samrarn). Needless to say, that was one delicious rich and dense chocolate cake! Even though I tend to not be a fan of chocolate cakes - or just cakes in general - if you want a scrumptious and impressive looking cake, this is the place to go!

There are always people lingering in front of the long cabinet or sitting at the tables in here. It's always hard to choose what to get from the array of exquisite looking tarts and gateaux on display. The lemon meringue tarts are topped with cone of meringue about three times the height of the base and the Esperance gateau is so green it just about shimmers. On my latest trip to Le Bon Choix I had a strawberry tart and a flat white. The coffee was okay, maybe a B, but the strawberry tart was delicious and they didn't skimp on the strawberries. Le Bon Choix does individual tarts and cakes as well as croissants, eclairs and pain au chocolats but they also do full size cakes to take home and share (or not). Their opera cake looked tempting with it's perfectly lined layers and glistening top. I'm still a Chouquette girl at heart, but if I find myself on this side of town and in need of a pick-me-up, I'm always more than satisfied with a trip to Le Bon Choix.

No, I'm not five years old, but every time I pass a cupcake place, I definitely act like one. Generally, I almost throw a tantrum, as cupcakes are ALWAYS overpriced. But for a good reason here - they are just that darn tasty, they could charge millions for them and I'd still buy them (well...after I've taken out a loan). Snickers, Mars Bars, red velvet, vanilla, strawberry, chocolate fudge, strawberries and cream, cookies and cream, passionfruit and cherry flavoured cupcakes. And they're huge. The actual muffin itself is moist, and quite small, but the icing more than makes up for that. Literally doubling the size of the whole cupcake. If you make the tough decision to only buy one, and not the whole shop, then definitely grab the Cookie Monster. It must have been all of that cookie eating in his life which has made him delightfully tasty!

Not quite as good as some I've had, but very yummy (if pricey) all the same. My one real grump was with the service, I joined another customer in looking at the display, but the sales girl stayed seated until we asked her assistance.

Stop what you're doing right now, stop eating that overpriced donut and get to Emily's Sweet Treat…read moreright now. Although, if I'm honest I want to keep this gem to myself. Emily's Sweet Treat is in a little set of food shops on Sandgate Road and unless you knew about it you probably would drive right past. What a horror that would be. Filled with absolutely beautiful looking sweets and a small brunch type menu this is a great place for afternoon tea. (n.b they also do a high tea!) I chose a flat white for my afternoon fuel up, which was really good and strong, plus a red velvet cupcake. Guys. GUYS. This Red Velvet cupcake is something else, the cake was fluffy and the icing was buttery but still light and delicious. I think I'm in love! I also got 2 macarons to take home because they looked incredible (and there was a 10$ EFTPOS minimum). All in all I can see myself going back here so many times, someone is definitely going to have to restrain me. Everyone else can keep their crazy donuts as long as I can keep returning here!

Avocado and fetta on toast... it was delicious! Really really nice that it left me wanting more. Particularly with the small serving size. The marinated fetta (rather than plain) gave the dish added flavours which I hadn't had before. Yummmm Campos coffee servered extra hot was really nice too. Perfect amount of vanilla, which so many places get wrong. Prices are good, just need to work on serving sizes.
