Soooo beautiful dresses! You can find dresses for every occasions from casual party to wedding, for…read moreconcerts, performances, and disco parties too! The staff are super friendly and helpful, they will assist you accordingly to your requests and are very patient too! They will also tailor dresses to match your size. I had a dress tailored and they did a fantastic job! They didn't just cut the dress shorter, but they re-designed the dress beautifully by adding rhinestones as decorations. The prices are around 300-400€ for long ball gowns, 100-200€ for shorter cocktail dresses and of course wedding dresses can be much more expensive. Yes, the prices are a little higher than other dress shops that you can find in Vienna but balina's dress designs can't beat! You will be wanting every dresses there!! They also sale elegant, formal shoes, clutches, bags, and kids dresses. Be sure to check in the store when they have sale! You can also shop online although I would recommend you to go to the store to look and try the dress on first before buying. Oh, and a great function on their online shop: if you find a certain dress that you are interested online, you can check the availability in the shops! All in all, Balina would be my number one place to buy dresses!

They sell many of the formal looks for the Viennese balls, so you can imagine the detail and quality of the work. The prices are reasonable, too, considering their quality and history. Kenny went in specifically for a tuxedo but walked out with a frack look which was an exceptional tailcoat with many intricate layers inside. It was really nice seeing what the best type of evening wear for a man was out there. I learned so much about buttons, fabric, the time of day wear, and how many fingers a vest had to be past the jacket! I was expecting a crazy amount of pay but I was so pleasantly surprised by how amazing Allen was so we definitely got our purchase and ready for pick up indoor days with our tailoring. The store is pretty large - two stories - with a surprisingly large English language section upstairs. The service was friendly, and we both quickly found some books to read over the week we were in Austria. Steffl department store is a luxurious store with seven floors of clothing and accessories from…read morevarious very high end brands. If you are a fashionista, this is definitely a place to check out. Even if you can't afford it (most of us can't), the window shopping is worth it. Steffl is very conveniently located on a busy shopping street leading up to St. Stephan's cathedral at Stephanplatz. The street is otherwise full of quite generic high street brands which you can find anywhere else in the world, so in my opinion this department store was the only outstanding stop worth stopping at during the day at the city center (if one has limited time for Vienna, like I did). The store is not as large as e.g. London ´s Harrods, but it still has a decent sample of the best brands out there. I especially enjoyed the variety in eveningwear and lingerie departments. I like that the staff is polite and professional and doesn't act snobbish towards you even if you are an obvious student with a backpack checking out a thousands euros Elie Saab or Marchesa gown. The seventh floor also has a lovely view of the cathedral, so after you're done fashion admiring, it´s worth checking out.

I asked the saleswoman in that section if she could change a my battery, and she said, "No. You have to go to a Jeweler for that." O.K., that's acceptable. What wasn't acceptable was when I asked her where the nearest jeweler was located... how do I get to one? I told her I am not from here (although I have lived here for about a year, but I didn't tell her that) and she looked at me, very serious, and proceeded to ask me, "Do you have a cell phone? Get on the internet and type in 'nearest jeweler'..." She was still talking, but I had begun to walk away at that point. THIS is by far the rudest, of rude interactions with customer service that I've ever had. Even on a bad day, this is NEVER an acceptable way to talk to a customer.
