You know, the luck of the irish is a powerful thing. Considering my grandmother is part Irish I figured I'd have a lucky time at Florrie McGreal's .. this review is also for two visits, cause I like to mix it up (I'm so hip)
So on the first visit, we had ribs .. don't laugh, the Irish are well known for their BBQ pork ribs right? right? ... oh okay, well regardless, they knew how to do it right. It was melt off the bone meat and a rich flavoursome taste. The second time wasn't quite as lucky, (te loch of te orish mosta felled ma) and the ribs have the same cookie style, but the sauce was weak and waterish. Perhaps a little judicious microwaving?
Both times, its obvious that its a pub, and while (in my opinion) Guinness counts as eating, the service for food wasn't exactly the best,the staff seemed a bit bored and just wanted to throw us into a corner to eat and then stumble out. The decor is very irish pub though, no windows to speak of and sparsely lit, perfect for bringing back the days of yore when the Beowul-- Oh, wrong genre again?
