Boat we took
Lesli S.

Did the 3 hr afternoon sail/snorkel and would recommend to others. Although it's a sail boat, we motored. Staff - Tim & Parker were super friendly, helpful, engaging. Some of the best excursion staff we have experienced. They pointed out various sights on our way out and back. It was about 45min to an hour out and an easy cruise with pleasant conversation with the staff and other guests. Once at the reef, there's a decent swim from the boat to the reef. They provide pool noodles inside your jacket so it was no big deal, but realize there is at least sometimes a bit of a distance. I'm terrified of the open ocean so the swim over was a little mind over matter exercise for me. Once over the reef it was lovely to see the fish. The coral in FL is not colorful, but there are a variety of sizes and colors of fish. Occasional large sea turtles swim nearby. One of the reasons we picked this company instead of others is b/c of the # of people they take. The other catamarans had SO many people jammed on it. Not our boat - room to move, take pics and feel like you're on a special excursion. It was worth the extra $ as we really appreciated the less chaotic atmosphere. Also picked this company b/c had read about the very busy boats just dropping people in pods of jellyfish. Although it was jellyfish season during our snorkel, our captain was very conscientious about where he stopped, calmed our fears and discussed how to navigate any potential encounters. We saw a total of 2 during our snorkel - no big deal. Nobody was stung. Drinks were served on the way back (non-alcoholic as well as alcohol) and it was a lovely return to dock. Especially nice if you're staying at the Hyatt or one of the neighboring hotels as it's super easy to access the boat dock behind the Hyatt pool. Be on time! Boat departs within 5 minutes of scheduled time and you will be left behind. That also means for people who show up on time, you get to move on with your excursion as planned and enjoy the entire 3 hours.

We had a great day. We went out on Saturday, May 21, 2022. The weather was not perfect, a little choppy but we still had a great time. Parker and Kayla were wonderful. Plenty of room on the boat, cold drinks, great company. We were out from about 10 AM until 2 PM. Enjoyed some snorkeling and just being on the boat.

Went out today with Florida's for a snorkel tour. Our captain and guide were both amazing ladies. Smart, knowledgeable, and helpful. Such a perfect day. Will definitely do again

Had an amazing and special time doing the sunset sail. Captain Mike was very friendly as was the crew. Can not recommend this experience enough!!

We booked the Sunset Sail in Key West with Beverages Included for the 4th of July (fireworks show not included). We boarded the sailboat at the Hyatt Centric Resort. Beer, white wine and sodas were offered for drinks. We sailed past Mallory Square and out past the Southernmost Point. Then watched the sunset as we sailed back. We really enjoyed chatting with Parker, and the Captain was friendly, too. The boat is beautiful, clean and comfortable. There were about 26 people on board, so not too crowded. We took photos and video as the sun sank into the ocean and then raced back to dock so everyone could go on their way to enjoy fireworks. It was a beautiful end to the day.

We did the sunset cruise and loved it. The weather was a little sketchy but we managed to stay out of the storms and the result was a gorgeous sunset. The staff on board were friendly, attentive and generous with drinks and refills. They seemed genuinely interested in our safety and seemed to love their jobs. I think I would too!! We had about 20 people on board. A nice group. Not too many but enough to meet some fun folks from around the country. We did not have live entertainment or food but knew that from the start. The sunset cruises that did looked packed!! We would highly recommend Floridays!! Crew.... You were awesome!!

Took a snorkel cruise with Lanier and Kai, and can confirm, great time. They are a safety first group, fun, and great conversationalists. On the ride out, we got interesting tidbits of information about Key West and the surrounding area. After about an hour, we tied up near some other boats and snorkeled for another hour. We saw plenty of rays, a nurse shark, barracuda, and schools of other fish, among the coral. After an hour snorkeling, it was happy hour on the boat as we cruised back to Key West. Well worth the fee, and if you go don't forget to tip them!

I booked this for my besties 50th and we had a blast! Only seven of us on the boat and we had Janet and Laneer as our captains and we had a wonderful time snorkeling and just enjoying the boat. Even when the boat didn't start back up I just jumped back in the water and relaxed. We could not have asked for a Breyer experience. Thanks so much for a great day!

Dolphin fun!

We had such a great time with Floridays! The snorkeling trip was one of the hi lights of our trip to Key West! It was just the right amount of boat and water time and we would book another trip with them for sure!

We had a great time on the boat and in the water! The ship is clean and well stocked and the staff is not only warm and friendly, but they really know their stuff. Captain Janet and First Mate Parker took care of everything and we had one of the most relaxing afternoons we can remember. The snorkeling was amazing and the crew made it so easy. We'll definitely be back.... maybe a sunset cruise next time!

If you like the road less traveled, this is the sunset cruise for you. This is the opposite of the typical party boat where you have a small group of folks along with a crew of 2. This is a smaller tall mast sailboat with a Capt'n and first mate. The first mate this night was Trish and she was awesome making sure everyone had a fresh drink (many choices) and setting the sails when needed. We were lucky on Sept 17th with calm seas and an awesome sunset. If you are looking for a great experience on a smaller and quiet boat, the Floridays is a great choice

From start to finish, everything was incredibly well organized and professional. Mike in the office was so helpful and made the check-in process smooth and easy. Our guides, Tyler and Juan, were absolutely fabulous--friendly, knowledgeable, and made sure everyone felt confident and safe before we hit the water. This was my very first time on a jet ski, and thanks to their clear instructions and encouragement, I felt totally comfortable and ready to go. The tour itself was stunning--Key West is even more beautiful from the water! The weather was perfect, and I especially loved the calm, Gulf side, where we had some free time to go fast on our own. It was such a fun, memorable experience, and I can't recommend it enough. Thanks again to the team for an unforgettable adventure!

First, I want to say that Captain Jason and Bernie were great. They were friendly, professional,…read moreand did their best under the circumstances. My disappointment is not with the crew, but with the overall experience and how the tour was handled given the weather conditions. I had concerns that the weather would impact our excursion, so I actually called that morning to confirm the tour was still going as planned. I was assured we were going. Unfortunately, the tour was a complete disappointment. The main reason we booked was to experience the secluded sandbar, which is a major highlight of the advertised excursion. We never even made it to the sandbar. Instead, we barely snorkeled in rough waters that felt unsafe and certainly weren't enjoyable. We also didn't see the tropical fish, sea turtles, or other marine life highlighted in the tour description. The one bright spot was seeing dolphins, which we really enjoyed. However, that alone did not make up for everything else we missed. I completely understand that weather is unpredictable and safety comes first. However, if conditions weren't suitable to deliver the main experiences being advertised, I believe the company should have offered guests the option to reschedule or cancel rather than proceeding with a significantly reduced experience. Again, Captain Jason and Bernie were wonderful, and I don't fault them at all. But ultimately, we paid for an experience we simply did not receive. What was supposed to be a relaxing, memorable day on the water ended up feeling like a complete waste of money.

I never leave bad reviews, but in this case it was absolutely necessary. - "Boat Rentals of Key West" is a broker, but does not disclose at time of booking. After making a deposit on phone, we were sent to pickup our boat at a place called "Paradise Boat Rentals" at Murray Marine on Stock Island. - We arrived at Paradise Boat Rentals at 1pm where final payment was charged. Upon which, the owner "Rocky" recommended he guide us through the narrow channels to main water. Very shallow area that surrounded the location. - When we hit open waters, Rocky waived us through and we were on our way. 35 minutes later, the boat broke down. From 1st contact, it took them 3 hours to come assist us. - By 5:15pm, we had everything swapped over to a replacement boat. We used this replacement boat to tow Rocky 45 minutes closer to KW (out of courtesy). - It was cloudy, windy and the water was very choppy that day, not to mention, we were in a flat bottom deck boat. It was extremely rough to say the least, and we still had to make it back to Murray on Stock Island. - By 6:45pm we could barely see. We realize at this time, the replacement boat has NO lights and NO navigation device. My wife calls Rocky on his cell, and explained we were about 500 yards from his marina, but needed an assist due to no lights or nav - it was not safe trying to navigate the narrow channels without someone experienced with such area. He begins screaming at her and accusing us of being intoxicated. I get on the phone and he begins cursing "I know what F...n games you are playing", "I'm not coming to help you", "Just wait until you get here and see who you are messing with", etc, etc. I explain to him that 3 of us on the boat, including driver had not taken 1 sip of alcohol that day. - At this point, due to the situation and the threats from Rocky, we pulled over to a bulk-headed area and called the local authorities. They agreed we should not drive the boat as it was very dangerous to do so without lights. They then helped return the boat and coordinated our vehicle pickup from Murray. At 9:30pm, we were finally returning to our hotel. - We are now going through the channels of dispute with our credit card company for right at $400 in charges (from both this broker and Paradise rentals)! Rant over. Proceed with caution.

I got in the water and panicked. Kelly, our guide, expertly made sure I got back to the boat. Spencer, our dive master, helped me up and reassured me the whole time. I got to spend the next couple hours hanging out with Spencer and robin (the captain), which honestly, was a great time. What I loved is how committed they were to safety, and also making me feel valid in my decision to abort the dives. My partner successfully completed two dives and had a fantastic experience with Kelly guiding him. If/when we're back in key west again for diving, we will definitely book with Lost Reef again!!

Lost Reef Adventures...the worst dive shop that I have encountered in 30 years of scuba diving…read more The negatives: The owner, Nick, was extremely unfriendly to the point of being hostile. He had a serious attitude problem and had no idea what the concept of "customer service" meant. He just stares at you, waiting for you to say something...it's really creepy. After telling us to show up at 7:00 for the morning dives, no one from the shop bothered to show up until 7:45. The crew was only okay. The dive master acted like this was an annoyance to be taking us out on a dive...like he just wanted to get this over and done with. He just swam around for 45 minutes until it was time to re-board. The boat pilot told us, "We're not leaving the dock until you get your gear ready." There was one guy (with a mullet and ear rings) that was pretty cool and very helpful. The equipment was fair, but had some issues. The first tank that I hooked up to only had 1200 psi, turns out that 1/4 of the tanks onboard had previously been used and not removed or refilled. The fact that they all had the rubber covers on the valve (indicating a fresh tank) made it very confusing as to which tank to use. My dive buddy's regulator was inoperable. The dives were fair at best. I guess Key West really isn't that great for sea life when compared to the USVI or Belize, buy the dive master didn't even bother to point out sea life. EVERY dive I've been on in 30 years had a dive master that took pride in his/her job and did their best to point out - things to see - during the dive. I told the travel office on the base at Sigsbee not to recommend them. There are vastly superior shops like Southpoint Divers and Captain's Corner that will give you a much more pleasant experience. I dove with Southpoint on all of my subsequent dives in Key West. The positives: The boat was great - lotsa space for everyone, safety equipment was plentiful, and the safety briefing was well done. As I mentioned before, one of the crew (lives in Roatan, Honduras and was visiting his daughter) was very helpful but unfortunately, he was the exception. The BCDs, masks, and fins were fine. There's not really anything else positive that came out of my experiences. Do yourself a favor and use one of the other dive shops in Key West.
