I was over charged and hassled to get my car back. The owner of the place was extremely rude and…read moreyelling and fighting for no reason whatsoever and I pointed that out to him. I was overcharged for him to be responsible to show up and do his job. His excuse was that he had to meet me twice because the car is under my father's name (even though my name is on the insurance) and he needed a notarized letter to release it so I had to take care of that and meet him again. Not to mention, my father lives in New York (the center of the COVID-19 epidemic) and he had me ask him to go search for a place (on easter's day and while the Coronavirus is going on) that can notarize that letter for him so that he can send it to me by email to get my car back. With these circumstances, of course it was almost impossible to find a place open in NY that can notarize that letter and literally my father kept searching for hours and put himself at risk for getting infected by the Coronavirus. After my father sent me the notarized letter by email, I called the towing company and the guy be like "it was supposed to be in blue ink and I'm not happy with it but I will take it and you will have to pay $200 now instead of $170". Eventually, he ended up charging me $178.15 plus 3% credit card fees, which adds up to $186.15. However, according to Broward county towing fees, I was supposed to be charged $168 only. It is totally unacceptable to bargain people like that to get their own vehicles back. The towing company is supposed to adhere to the rules that is implemented by Broward county and also talk to people respectfully. I have a receipt and I have proof of what I am saying and will be filing a complaint with Broward county as well in addition to this. I dealt with the owner of AG Weston towing company and this took place on 04/12/2020.
