After speaking with Chris Davis at Florida Mobile Glass my extreme confusion and irritation was immediately turned to relief, surprise and even frustration and being actually PTFO (please excuse the vulgar insinuation).
My Sister-in-Law and I called PROGRESSIVE for myself and my 2019 Acura ILX's Windshield Replacement and GEICO for my Sister-in-Laws 2020 Dodge Challenger Windshield Replacement since Windshields are supposed to be Completely Free for Florida Drivers with Comprehensive or Full Coverage on their Vehicle/s... But in my call to Progressive I was informed that I do Carry the Coverage for my Windshield but I have a $500 Deductible on my Comprehensive Coverage and with hers she was informed that she did carry the necessary Coverages for her Windshield but again her Deductible was $1000 and would apply eithr prior to or following the Windshield Replacement.
So back to Chris at FMG again, we called with him on Recorded Conference Calls and asked the exact same Questions and this time we got completely different answers. Such as I have the proper Coverage and that All Comprehensive Deductibles are Waived for Windshield Only Damage in FL and the convo with hers was nearly the same but now her $1000 Deductible would be Waived! Neither of them could explain why the 1st CSR told us completely opposite things that were obvious bold face lies told solely to keep them from having to Pay out on a Claim simply because they don't want to give us any money back on a Claim, they only want to take Money from you and never want to Pay anything Out to Customers, no matter how long you've been a Customer of theirs even on an "Unavoidable Claim" which is a No Fault Claim that legally has No Impact on our Rates and is more than likely why they don't want to Pay Out on those Claims since they know they CAN'T raise your Rates in an attempt to recuperate some or all of the money that they spent back, in any way.
Thanks to Chris we got both Windshields taken care of, with Premium Glass, Dealer Grade Glass, not Aftermarket Junk Glass like the Shops your Insurance Company's recommend and would much rather you used, just in order to save them money, which Chris said has never made sense to him that these Insurance Company's want to use the Cheapest guys, Cheapest Products, Cheapest Labor and All in the name of saving money even when it could/would likely be at the expense of their Customers (which is ok in some certain things) but in my opinion NOT in Automobiles and NOT in Auto Glass and ESPECIALLY NOT in Windshields because Cheaper everything means much more likely to get New Damage, Faulty Installations, causing Water or Air Leaks (which all have the ability to cause all sorts of other issue in the Vehicle), Visual and Functionality Issues which all mean Warranty or Replacement Work which bares about a 65 chance that the Insurance Company will have to Pay-Out Again which will more than likelyend up Costing nearly Double what it would have Cost to get it done right by using Quality Products and Certified Technicians the 1st time.
Once he explained that to me, it made perfect sense and is kinda hard to comprehend why they wouldn't just do it right the 1st time and not leave anything open to chance, especially their Money.
Chris was extremely thorough and no lie, told us nearly exactly how the convos would go with both of the different Insurance Companies, all the questions they'd ask, when they'd ask and why they ask them, he even went as far as to tell us things that may happen, saying that they may or may not say or ask this but he just wants to make sure we're "In the know", that way we were never blindsided by anything that happened during the Calls which was honestly a relief in and of itself but was even better when we were actually on those two calls and everything was just flowing exactly as we expected it to because of his preparation and that was simply amazing. Honestly there are so many Business' out there who could take a Lesson or 2 on how to do things from him. The way he and everyone at FMG are quite simple the Epitome of how an Auto Glass Shop should be ran, in fact any Business for that matter because it so easily translates to other Business'. It's absolutely Customer Service at its finest.. read more
