Our experience first started with their website in the adoptable dog section, which is updated…read moreevery hour. Saturday was our first time here. We arrived promptly at opening at 10am. There was already 6 cars waiting at the gate. Such a busy place! The volunteers were all very helpful. We were able to see the dog we had in mind, but another couple had their eye on him first so we went to see the other dogs in the back. Everyone was so kind and personable. After 5-10min, the original volunteer told us the couple left and did not adopt the doggo we were looking at so we got to adopt him within the hour. All dogs are neutered/spayed, bordatella, flea treatment, heart worm tested, and given a few other vaccines. They are also microchipped. I felt the staff had genuine care for these pets and wanted the best for them. Thank you again!

We were told she had worms but is at the end of treatment so take her out more than usual. This amazing dog Daisy had explosive diarrhea to the point she didn't even know she had to go. We took her back for treatment for $180.00+ fee. No change in Daisy's condition after the meds or change in food. We were told a culture was needed for $2-300.00 and antibiotics for $500 for the 1st week. The vet said we got a group of dogs from Miami with a bad bacteria. After a stern message to Mandy she agreed they would cover that cost. The culture showed nothing. Due to the no resolve and the episodes of diarrhea exceeding 10 × a day and the weight loss of 11+ lb my dad returned her to Mandy. He was assured he would receive the $400 adoption fee but not the vet fee to Mandy's Husband. As of 8/12/24 and today is 10/5/24 no check. We desperately love Daisy and know she is locked in a cage in a store room next to the ASAP VET CLINIC IN BROOKSVILLE FL defecating on herself until the next person adopts her. DON'T DONATE OR ADOPT FROM THIS PLACE THAT CALLS THEMSELVES A RESCUE. GOD LOVE THE ANIMALS THEY "TAKE IN FOR RESCUE". It's a money making scam that only the animals suffer as do the people who adopt. She said I wish petfinder wouldn't do this. Karen said I have so many applications from people who are only mildly interested and I have to go through them all. (ok has nothing to do with me). I don't know if she hung up or we were disconnected. I called back and got voice mail. I was just on the phone with her so she obviously isn't interested in getting a good home for the dog. I'll go somewhere else for a dog and it's no wonder that this dog still isn't adopted. I think Karen should get a new line of work.

I went to the Humane Society of Pasco off of Harmon three times with intentions to adopt a dog…read more Three times I went they were closed and I went several more times and they were still closed even though the sign said they were open, but they were closed. So I happen to just cut through Harmon on my way to Publix and saw they were open. I went inside and I still wanted another dog. They had several dogs that I was interested in and there was a dachshund that was a little bit older, but I was very interested in him because he was a dapple and I love dapples. When I met the dog, it was like we were made for each other. But when I told the people at the counter, I was interested in adopting the dog right then, they told me they would put me on a waiting list because there were six other people in line for this dog. They could have told me this to begin with and not got my hopes up. So once again, I left without a dog. I went back two more times and I strictly told them no Pitbulls and no pitbull mixes and that's all they had but they brought me out and showed me the dogs. They may be very nice people and they care about their animals, but they need to be a little bit more informative, and upfront when people make requests. And they need to open when they're supposed to be open. I ended up getting two miniature dachshunds from a breeder friend and I am very happy with them. One is a dapple and the other is red so I'm extremely happy. But as far as the Humane Society on Harmon, I don't recommend them. Sorry, but that's how I feel.

It's one of the few businesses in the Villages that feels like you are party of a community. I buy food for my fur babies and buy food to donate each visit. So what does The Villages do to this amazing business serving the community? It goes ahead and refuses to support them with a reasonable lease and forces the store to close (April 2025). The Villages business model is despicable. The amount of empty store fronts is atrocious in light of its continued rampant building spanning counties and adjacent to a federal prison. Villages, how about supporting things in the community that actually work, like presence, instead of forcing them out. You're all just local yahoos without any sense..

My daughter and I flew to choose our pup and the experience was phenomenal. The pups are cared for lovingly and given a good start in life right from the beginning. Do not hesitate about these breeders, they are wonderful people and know what they are doing. We were lucky enough to meet Toby's Mom and Dad and saw their size, temperament and the environment they were born into. Jan, however will hand reliever your pup without a problem!!
