We got our taxes done last Saturday, which I dreaded. Instead of using AARP taxes services, we used Real Sense through the United Way. Florida Blue partner with United Way To offer free tax services to low - and moderate income families. Your appointment was at 10 am, but we were nit seen until 11 am. No worries, coffee and water were supplied while we waited. Stevie and our team were wonderful doing the taxes and reverifying before being sent to the IRS. The taxes were done, and I owe uncle same over 2 grand. Not bad for a 1 hour wait! A couple of days ago, I came back for a class hosted by Florida Blue about Station medication. The nurse who presented was knowledgeable. I think I was the youngest in attendance. During the lunch and learn, we were treated to a salad, fig leaves, and a spinach roll. I ate so fast I forgot to take a picture. I am looking forward to possibly taking a class on mental health. Nit only dies the Florida Blue center offer tax return assistance and lunch and learn but also sponsor exercise classes free of charges to members and seniors. I am not a fan of Florida Blue insurance, but I am happy I got taxes done, checked, and ongoing classes to take care of my mental and physical state. Until next class, Florida Blue, adios for now!

They don't improve prescriptions needed. You end up back in the hospital. I guess that's less expensive for them. Not

I was searching online for private health insurance since it has been a year since havinhg any &…read moreI've been off one medication that is crazy expensive this entire year and I NEED insurance. After spending a couple hours searching I learned about various groups who don't offer insurance privately at all in Florida, some that only focus on government based insurance such as medicaid and medicare. Blue Cross was actually one of my top 2 choices, having had their insurance in the past. Over the last 12-15 years not only has cost skyrocketed for insurance, but benefits have gone way down- something most people don't talk about. Online I used their tools to search what doctors are "in network" with which plans & narrowed it down to one. The one. No deductible, no co-insurance, just copays and a fairly reasonable out of pocket. Still expensive, but the pricing was very comparable across plans- so I went with what made sense to me. However- the website said there was no enrollment available until November! We booked an appointment at the Center with Fred and off we went. Our appointment was a little off- our rep was on a phone call when we arrived, but once we went back he started gathering our info. Fairly quickly I handed him my notes on the plan I was interested in and I thought he was going to fall out of his chair. I did all the work, except- he got us enrolled to start October 1! Hooray!!! We also signed up for Dental- which I didn't research and while, they don't offer eye coverage- he pointed us in the right direction and we already snagged that coverage too! FYI- dental normally has a delayed start date for coverage, they can override it to a certain extent. Normally a 6 month delay- we get coverage on November 1. They also offer numerous health events throughout the month to help you improve your lifestyle!

On Eventbrite (again) I saw another Lunch and Learn on the power of positivity and I thought...boy…read moredo we as a society need this! So I signed up for two; they had tables set up up front. As you entered you picked a sandwich (from Panera), bag chips, apple and they had water on tables. The speaker had good points about working on making our daily experiences around us and with others, more positive for our own well being-physically and mentally. She had good pointers and asked for feed back from the group; there was a handout also you could take with you. I was curious why they do all these activities for the public, I asked the coordinator, Barry Case, and he said is for positive public relations. He seemed sincere as he gave us a calendar for Marches activities, all at this center-yoga, HIIT training, guided mediation, using social media to stay connected, Zumba, senior exercise. The next Lunch and Learn is Mental Well-being...oh boy, another good topic!
