Came here to enjoy the fireworks festival and ended up craving a bit of wine and food as it was a bit chilly. After staring at the myriad of options, we ended up at La Galleria as it afforded outdoor seating with a flame to keep us warm, and the sofas looked darn comfortable! Service is really good, with a lot of staff walking around and making sure you have what you need. Your orders arrive in a jiffy and are decently presented. We ended up ordering two glasses of red wine recommended by the server. It was nice! For dinner, they also serve slices of bread with butter as something to munch on while you wait for your food. We had an eggplant parmesan-ish dish for appetizer, but forget about eating it by yourself; it was massive! For the main course, I had eggplant ravioli, while V had pasta with pesto and cheese. My dish was alright, but there was a bit of sweetness that I couldn't point my finger at for the cause. It had a lot of sauce in it and the size of my portion was big enough to leave me very very full! All in all, I thought the appetizer was hotter and more delicious than my main course. Oh, but the best part is the dessert! We shared a platter of 3 ice cream scoops - walnut, vanilla, and pistachio, and it was some of the best ice cream I had had all summer! There was just the right amount of chocolate sauce on the side and those crunchy sweet things that taste good on ice cream. It had a big serving of whipped cream on the side, too. So, why the 3 stars? Mainly because while the service was great and the dessert splendid, I don't think it was anything out of the ordinary, overall. The biggest draw is the location.
