This 43-foot-tall, bronze-cast fountain was designed to look like the beautiful fountains found across Europe, made up of a nine-foot-tall woman, who is referred to as "The Lady" by locals, with human figures both big and small below and around her. Around the fountain were several different restaurants that were either on the square or bordered the square. I probably wouldn't have known what this place was if it weren't for the opening credits from "WKRP in Cincinnati," but my partner, his family, and I were glad to stop by.

We noticed the name 'Strauss & Troy' all over the square...later learnt that they are prominent local law firm that sponsors various events at the Square, including a seasonal market.

This is a pretty run-down Northern Kentucky suburb which is a bit like stepping back in time. I'm not saying that Cincinnati is a very fancy city by any means but you do feel like you go back 10 or 20 years in time when you cross into Northern Kentucky. Newport is one of the Heartland towns up here in nky along with Covington, and I like coming here for Dixie Chili mainly, which is really awesome, but Starlight has a very different opinion and she totally freaked out when she came here with me in a way that I've never seen her freak out before. She did not appreciate what she thought was somebody coming to actually attack me. It took her quite a while to recover from it. I will never forget it.

Who would lie about that? Not me...not you. I explained I had a piece of mail with my son's name and my address in my car, but was told NO. Come back when you have something. Another day and I got in line again. Was second...woot! But the young lady in front of me was transferring from Ohio also and had been there several times before. She had a driving abstract - whatever that is - instead of a Drivers License and a interlock. I don't know what that is, and it was causing so many problems I hope I never find out. Someone finally came to help after about 20 minutes, and I was done in about 5 minutes. Exiting I saw the line had grown to about 25 people. So lucky me I didn't came later. I would probably have left and some again another day.

We went to the courthouse to change our daughters name (she is a minor). She was/is very excited…read moreabout the name change and once we got the paperwork we brought it back notarized the next morning and before the end of the day we got a call saying it was official and we could pick up the paperwork. We had no lines on either visit and when they called I explained I had told my daughter (she's 6) she would have to sign something. A wonderful employee named Gaila (I am sure that's spelled incorrectly-sorry) made this even more special by asking our daughter some questions and getting her more excited.. thank you!!! From this staff and the judge that doesn't let these things pile up-- good work! I am from San Diego and the stories you hear about wait time with any government office is not an exaggeration so I am shocked on how smooth it is here. I miss my hometown but NOT the lines and trying to make sure you get to the right person. This experience and previous ones at this courthouse have been amazing! Among other things, he was responsible for establishing the income tax and splitting the Republican Party such that it let to the election of Woodrow Wilson. The historic site was the birthplace and childhood home of the man. It is a two-story structure built around 1845 and was purchased by Alphonso Taft (William Howard Taft's father) in 1851. The family was upper class and so they used the house for social events. The house is open for touring and includes several rooms set up in period style as it would have been if the Taft family were still living here. Some larger rooms have mementoes and captions explaining the life and times of the former POTUS and SCOTUS Chief Justice. There's a lot to read and take in. Expect at least an hour, probably two. I have been a fan of ROA, the Belgian Street Artist known for his distinct and unique black&white murals of animals for a loooooong time and finally this world class art is right here, in our own backyard!!!!! Basquiat, Banksy, ROA, these artists brought the art to the streets and seeing their current artistic commentary on the walls of the building always stops me in my tracks! Go see the new mural! It is right at the Essen Street at Findlay market! Well done CIncy, let the buildings' walls be the modern canvas!

I visited Covington this past Saturday to watch the performance of Little Shop of Horrors by a…read morelocal theater company. It was held at the Covington Plaza Ampitheater. It was such a great venue and right on the river front. There was easy access to the venue and parking. They had porta potties for people's convenience. We were allowed to bring food and drink to enjoy before and after the show. Alcohol was acceptable. The ampitheater was so nice. Plenty of stage space and plenty of seating (take your own chair). It was neat to see the old boats go by in the background and the Reds game going on in the stadium across the river. There were some restaurants within walking distance if you were hungry. We ended up at a unique kind of bar that focused on frozen drinks. It was called Frosty (something, I can't remember). It was a neat idea and we enjoyed our time there. I would love to go to another show at that venue.

Lots of Germans immigrated to Covington where lots were sold for hundreds of dollars (UGH, what I would give to purchase some Covington for that price). Today, Covington is a great part part of the Cincinnati region. As a resident, I feel like I have all the amenities of living downtown without the hustle and bustle and lack of parking. There is lots to do and see, including a lot of great restaurants. Coming in hot with a strong opinion: Covington is home to the best burrito (Gutierrez Deli) and Chinese food (Amerasia) in greater Cincinnati. Whether you are in downtown Covington or Mainstrasse, there's plenty to see and do... even during a pandemic, Devou park has provided a great place to get out and experience some nature. I identify as a Cincinnatian, but I'm super proud of my 859 area code.

It reads, "Originally called Mt. Ida, Mt. Adams was a significant section of the Nicholas Longworth Vineyard, which developed the Catawba grape from which America's first champagne was produced. The name was changed to Mt. Adams in 1843 to honor President John Quincy Adams who visited here to dedicate the Cincinnati Observatory. In mid-19th century Mt. Adams became the home of German and Irish immigrants. Following examples of earlier vintner cottages, they built homes conforming to the steep topography with wood and stone from local quarries. Many homes had a garden, vineyard, spring and smokehouse. Archbishop Purcell established Immaculata Church (1859) for the German speaking population. The Irish attended Holy Cross Monastery (1873) and Church (1895). Pilgrim Chapel, a Presbyterian preaching station was built in 1886. Numerous beer gardens and amusement places including the famous Highland House (1875) and the Pyrotechnic Gardens (1850) were built. Residents and visitors traveled to and from downtown via the Mt. Adams Incline (1874-1948). With the addition of Rookwood Pottery (1892), Sterling Cut Glass (1902) and the nearby Art Museum (1881) and Academy (1869) many artists chose to reside here. There was a voluptuous white receptionist who I inquired about a massive counterfeit money operation which I thought originated from overseas. She had me talk to one of her military personnel named Steve. I gave him a handwritten profile about the key culprits involved who had my identity attached to the spreading of this fake currency with disease on it, which the half population of the city thought I awarded to them, to the tune of $500,000,000. Steve stamped the information and gave it to his Superior. He advised me not to come back into the office because I was a civilian. What I didn't like is that his partner escorted me down to the second floor where the social security office was. I hear that the white female receptionist was targeted from someone down the hall who I heard impersonated Senator Sherrod Brown because of my presence. So much for cowardly men who verbally and physically disrespect females.

Well, I think the guards have guns. It's a very dangerous place and I don't like being in this building. Also, it's really not amazing inside this building. Or maybe I can't tell because I'm having armed guard/metal detector panic. I can't even say for sure. Is it worth maybe getting shot to go see a Charlie Harper mural in the lobby? Not to me. Oh, did you know some lady was the architect? She was the first woman to be licensed in Ohio. Damn, but I don't even know her name! Like India Boyer? OMG well whatever. It's a very good building and made by a woman! Like she was an architect back when it was all men. UGH Can you imagine how much it would've sucked to be alive back then? What a nightmare.
