I have a funny story about this place. I like going to at least once nice-ish meal each time I'm in…read morea new city. My travel companion, who booked this, did not tell me the name of the restaurant beforehand. I was completely in the dark. Upon walking into the restaurant at 8:30pm, when they open, we were the first ones there, and were presented with a menu. So........ La Tasqueria's specialty is, erm, offal (this is more punny if you pronounce offal as "awful", since I'm not sure exactly how to pronounce this...). All offal. This was a surprise to all (there was not adequate research done beforehand, apparently). Now, I do love me some tongue (and the tongue appetizer they had was amazing)....and the pate from the tasting menu was one of the best things I've ever had. This was just...unexpected. And totally on us for not realizing. But we figured, what the hell, they specialize in offal, it must be offal-ly good. And it really was. The tasting menu was 4-5 dishes, and like I said, the pate was one of the best things I had ever put in my mouth. I could eat that all day. There was also sweetbread, which I thought at first was brain, but turns out it's throat glands (like, thyroid). This was delicious as well.....but I'll admit, we both had a hard time psychologically getting over the fact that it was...offal. The last dish was a stew made of cheeks (I can't remember if it was sheep or cow or pork), and this was my biggest regret -- I was SO full I could only take a few bites, because it was so heavy, but the stew was hot and flavorful and sticky, and just, delicious. I wish I had the stomach for it. They also had a cheese dish (we ended up taking home the cheese) and dessert. All in all, a really interesting and unique experience! Service was great. (From January 2020)

Warning, shady reservation cancellation fees not disclosed when booking…read more.. Poor customer service. Had to cancel two hours ahead of a reservation due to illness and they insisted on charging us 100€ anyways. I talked on the phone with them and asked for help waiving the fee but they insisted on charging me anyways. Feels like a scam because it says "no reservation fee" in large type when making your reservation.

My friend and I decided to treat ourselves on the last night in Madrid. Surf and turf!…read more The waitress/chef that had to work the front was super grumpy with us. But the maitre'd was totally nice. Give us a break, we were trying with our broken Spanish! lol. The restaurant was beautiful. We treated ourselves to sea urchin - Which was filled with a lovely cream that had leeks? It was really tasty. I really loved the scallops but the CLAMS! They were cooked perfectly al dente. Weirdly though, I loved the steak the best. Perfectly cooked, with the fat cap crispy and the meat done medium rare. The fries were also amazing! The drinks were so-so. Food was so amazing though - definitely a treat yoself meal though!!!

It was packed to the gills (pun intended) with immaculate product coming in throughout the day, laid out in a dizzying variety that looked as beautiful as it tasted. You won't find much in terms of elaborate dishes here. O'Grelo is all about the fresh catch itself. We loved it so much we went two nights in a row. Over those visits we bulldozed our way through oysters, sea urchin, carabinero prawns, langoustines, razor clams, percebes, and a handful of other crustacean curiosities I couldn't even name before this meal, "slipper lobsters" among them. Many of the species on offer were new to me, yet every plate arrived pristine and delicious, proof that ingredient quality and careful handling do most of the talking here. In a city spoiled for extraordinary food, O'Grello still stands out. It's un-touristed, fairly priced for the caliber, and run with care. If the sea is your happy place, this is a must - one of those experiences you'll wish you could bring home with you.

Triana is one of those restaurants in Madrid's Ibiza neighborhood that focuses on doing things just…read moreright, good product, solid technique, and flavors that feel honest and well thought out, nested in an Andalucia decor. Not too cartoonish, just the proper decor to make you feel in the Spanish traditional mood. We started with the Steak Tartar de Bellota sobre tuétano asado a la brasa, a bold yet well-balanced dish. The beef was fresh, finely cut, and seasoned with precision, allowing the quality of the meat to shine. The roasted bone marrow added depth and richness without overwhelming the tartare, and the toasted bread on the side brought crunch to each bite. One of the highlights and favorites was the Arroz meloso de la huerta, cooked with coconut milk. Creamy and aromatic, the rice had a smooth, comforting texture with a subtle coconut note that added more flavor rather than sweetness. The vegetables brought freshness and balance, making it easy to see why this is a favorite of the head chef, especially when paired with a glass of ICENI, Vino de la Tierra de Cádiz, which sparks aromatic notes to this recipe. Another standout was the Puntillitas de Isla Cristina con Parmentier de Trufa y Huevo Frito. An Andalucian authentic dish. The puntillitas were crispy and perfectly cooked. The truffled parmentier added richness, while the fried egg blends everything. To accompany the meal, the marinated olives were a simple nice add-on. Service is well delivered. Overall, Triana delivers a confident and reliable dining experience. A traditional not too pretentious spot to bring friends coming from abroad with no unnecessary theatrics. Well-executed dishes, quality ingredients, and a traditional neighborhood atmosphere that you can go back to if you are in the area.

Instead of of calling me you listened to them instead of calling me and asking me what happened. My hotel recommend your restaurant i spent nearly 90 dollars. And you still didn't give me the courtesy of a phone call. I saw several black Americans come in and leave. Check the tape don't argue with me change it. How could you say you accommodated me when I asked several times for a different chair. My reservation was at 8 I asked to come in because of the heat. The waiter offered a table top i couldn't fit there. Which was obvious he said I could have a table if I was done by 8:45 I said no thank you we will keep our terrace reservation. My wife's food was under cooked I enjoyed my meal everything was fine until the waiter asked us to move tables at our outside reservation because you had a party of 14 coming. That's when I asked for the manager who didn't speak English. Although you claimed in your Google reply that he offered me accommodations. A very nice young man translated for me who works for you. He not the manager apologized that I had a traumatic experience and I left with your manager saying nothing just standing there looking at me. This review is not to cause harm to your business but to help you to correct an experience that a patron had. I read some of your responses and I've noticed a lack of accountability. I was polite Although no efforts were made by your staff to bridge the language barrier. Hire dual lingual staff. Establish a culture of accountability and listen before you respond. You can't tell me how to feel about my experience. I wish you and your staff all the best. Vernon S.

The restaurant has a modern, clean setting, and the waitstaff was patient with us as we tried to decide and order our dishes. We started with the ensalada of guacamole and shrimp "tartar"--on a round bed of mashed avocado sat little pieces of shrimp, which simply bursted with flavor! There was also a creamy dressing on the dish that brought together the creaminess of the avocado with the bright flavors of the seafood. Next, we had the "false risotto" with little chopped up pieces of shrimp, squid, and plankton--the dish was warming and delicious with deep seafood flavors (better than the tourist paella found all over Madrid), though the rice seemed a little bit underdone to me. Both of these were great dishes, and great discoveries, though they were a little bit pricey for the relatively small portion sizes.
