I am in love with CP Farmhouse!…read more This place is absolutely adorable. It oozes New England charm and you feel like you are on vacation in Maine. Also it smells fantastic. We walked around and look at the pumpkin patches, furniture, candles, antiques etc but honestly? I just wanted to pull up a chair and stay all day.It is so New England in this store and the products are absolutely beautiful. This place is out of a book about New England Antique stores. If in the area, this is a must see. If you are shopping around here, forget the clothing stores and just spend some time in here. The warmth, homey feeling, delicious scent and authentic quaintness will wrap itself around you and you will not want to leave.

Currently everything in the store is Holiday themed. I'm sure with the seasons and holidays their inventory changes. There are plenty of items made by local artisans, such as hand poured candles, goat milk skin care, reefs and more! Don't forget to take the stairs upstairs to discover more gems and a small clearance section. Most of the items are a bit over priced. A tiny little hen ornament that's made of mostly fluff is $18. The substantial items like the tables, chairs and such are truly quality. I would stop by here again when I'm in the area, I had a lot of fun browsing through this little store.

The look and feel of this shop is warm and welcoming from the aromatic scent in the air to the visually appealing displays. I was greeted and was offered assistance should I need any then was left to explore this glorious shop. I took my time looking at every nook and cranny. There seems to be something for everyone and the price range is wide. Examples of items they carry include but not limited to: *Jewelry *Clothes *Accessories (gloves, scarves, wallets, etc.) *Handmade Soaps *Lip Balms *Candles *Chocolates *Honey *Kitchen Accessories *Wind-chimes *Ornaments *Bridal Gifts *Baby Items You get the picture! It's a great place to shop for gifts not only for others but for yourself as well. I'll be stopping by again real soon!

The shop definitely has a vibe, it's very cute and would fit in a very calm house. Everything flows…read moretogether, even completely different items and brands. It's not really a kid store, although there is a section of children's toys that would make cute gifts. It definitely leans adult who wants to add a new piece to the home or who needs to find a gift they won't see everywhere. The store shares a private rock parking lot with Brits Brand, so scones are next door! It's right by the light so I guess for Morris, it's a high traffic area. For the rest of the world very calm and peaceful! The employees were very friendly and with their dress and manners, made it feel more like you had popped into a friend's home then a store.

Ignore any negative reviews. Simply ignore them and discount any low class commentary…read more Hayseed has been an integral part of Litchfield for about 30 years. They were one of the very first high end lifestyle stores ever. They saw a niche and filled it. Nowadays, the formula has been copied nearly every where you go. Hayseed was the trail blazer. To reviewer Re mask - gee if that is true and you feel uncomfortable, then leave. No one is forcing you to shop anywhere. This shop is chock full of wonderful objects, trinkets, jewelry, cards, luscious books and unique finds. The coffee table book selection is truly exquisite. Hayseed has been part of my life since my boarding school days and I am grateful they are still going strong. It's nice to have continuity and familiarity as one passes through time. It is very strange how several reviewers commented on the "elderly owner". While she very well may be a woman of a certain age, I highly suspect all of you would desire to embody such style, panache and grace as you proceed onwards in years. Those of you who age shamed her should look within to see what buttons are being pushed over what is lacking within you. Hayseed is a wonderful little shop in a wonderful little town. Please get out and support your local independent businesses. Please.

However, my 8 year old daughter wanted to buy a card and I was scolded and told children shouldn't "touch the cards". My daughter had picked up a birthday card she wanted to write for her aunt, which we were going to purchase. Why is it ok for an adult to pick up a card but not a child? You should have a sign saying "children not welcome in this store" and save us the time from even walking in there. My anxious daughter is currently crying about what she "did wrong" because of the way she was treated. I'm furious and this should not be acceptable!!!!!!
