I actually talked to an amazing baker (sorry can't remember her name only something starting with an "L" and nicely unusual)! This wonderful woman went waaay above and beyond in trying several different approaches to get my request accomplished. Even offered to stay late and bake it herself, if she could find something strawberry-ey!!!! Unfortunately, no strawberry anything could be found. But with service like that??? We were traveling and looked on Yelp for a place to order breakfast sandwiches. We were welcomed by their friendly staff who had our order wrapped and ready! The pies all looked tasty so we added a piece of their deep dish apple pie to go too!! We sat at their outdoor table to eat while the sandwiches were hot! We expected the usual egg and meat but not the sliced tomatoes!! Yum, that, the melted cheese, and delicious full-bodied wheat bread made the difference! Due to the dearth of restaurants that serve breakfast in Louisa, I did my annual trip to Floozies to remind me of why I do not patronize this establishment, food is so so and takes forever to get. Waitress comes to table for drink order and we say we are ready to order food. Waitress does not have pen and paper and cannot remember a order for two pancakes with sausage, 1 egg easy over and a vegetable omelet. 15 minutes later my order is placed. No big deal this is how Floozies operates. .Given how slow this place is I can expect my order in 30 minutes. Having been a short order cook in high school, I doubt the cook prepares everything before opening and can aggregate checks as opposed to working on one check at a time. 30 minutes pass and we notice two tables that came in after us with their food. After 40 minutes we question waitress and find out that cook did not keep checks in order and ours was still not being cooked yet. This is a major faux paux that should never happen in a restaurant because it guarantees your customer will never come back. Good news is I found a gem of a restaurant 1/2 block away that made a superb Ruben sandwich in 5 minutes, Apfel House Bistro and Bakery. read more

Finally went to floozies! We enjoyed a nice Saturday morning breakfast with the family. Service was friendly and there appeared to be at least a few regulars there during our visit, so thats a good sign. I ordered "the standard" breakfast for myself with grits and bacon and ordered a standard for my two young boys to split, with potatoes instead of grits. Nice big portions so plenty to go between two young ones, and plenty for my 9months pregnant self. The biscuits are great! Crispy crunchy outside but so fluffy and tender inside. Best biscuit ive had out in a while. They also bring homemade jams to the table for the biscuits--definitely beats the smuckers packets a lot of places put out. My husband got the large sausage gravy meal, which he didn't realize how large it would be, chock full of sausage too! He allowed me a taste: it was delicious, and he managed to finish it but left stuffed to the brim. We chose three slices of pie to take home (strawberry rhubarb just baked, key lime, and sour cherry). We havent tried them yet but they are hefty slices and all look delicious; I'm excited to dig in after dinner. read more

Floozies was great...name and all! Cute little storefront on Main Street, USA! Decor inside was just as cute and homey. Obviously, this is a place where the locals come and that is a good sign! We ordered our breakfasts...which were great!! Then we just had to order a slice of coconut custard pie (best I have ever had!) and a slice of XXX pie (chocolate upon chocolate!). I really want to give this place 5 stars. The food was 5 star. We got seated right away, but the service was SO slow!!!! We did happen to hit it on a day where the pie shop was closed. They had a leak in the ceiling and were serving in the restaurant next door. So, maybe they were having a tough day, and were short handed. The waitress was really nice, but such a long wait for brunch. All our food was really good except one person ordered a muffin and asked upon ordering if it could be toasted. The waitress said yes, and then it seemed like she forgot it and just cut it in half and then microwaved it. She said, oh, I couldn't get it toasted for you, but I cut it in half and warmed it up. It was decent, but after the 45 minute plus wait for breakfast for 4 people, it was kinda disappointing for her. She ended up just ordering a biscuit and that took another 10-15 minutes to come out as well. That being said, the biscuits are REALLY good! The sausage gravy, grits and pie were also really good. Like I said the food deserves 5 stars. It was just a frustratingly long wait! Floozies is a blast from the past. The pie themed decor creates a remember when sort of attitude. The menu was pretty limited, I settled for the omlette of the day which was stuffed full of onion, artichoke hearts, onion, mushrooms, American and colbyjack cheese. I ordered the grits, bacon and a biscuit. I likely could have eaten only the sides and been fine. The serving was a lot of food. The grits were amazing, cheesy and thick slow cooked with just enough seasoning. The biscuit was flakey and crusty. They had homemade apricot and strawberry jams. Both were delicious. We couldn't leave withour trying some of the pies, but we also couldn't eat another bite. We decided to take a Dutch apple and mixed berry pie to go. We shared them with friends. The dutch apple with streussel topping was the perfect amount of sweet and crunchy. The mixed berry was also delicious but very tart. It was best served warm with vanilla icecream. Not being from the area I called 53rd Winery to ask what was nearby. Two friends and I had lunch here then headed over to the winery. The food was all fresh and delicious. I had the chicken pot pie and salad with balsamic dressing. The dressing appeared to be house made and, I think, had mustard seeds in it. It was really good, just a bit surprise to me as I've never had mustard in my balsamic dressing. It was hard to choose which pie to get. I settled on pecan pie and was not disappointed. The restaurant was adorable and cozy. My only complaint was the service. I would have given them five stars if the servers had been more attentive, if one hadn't rolled her eyes when another server asked what the quiche flavors were and why there were three different prices (vegetable, meat and seafood) and if they didn't spend so much time talking behind the counter. Or ... if you are seeking a decent sandwich shop, this is the place to surpass your expectations! Although the sandwiches were so awesome and so filling, that meant we had to share a piece of pie (maybe share the sandwich?) The sidewalk patio is quite lovely, but one thing I believe the other reviews fail to mention is the spectacular view of the gorgeous Louisa courthouse building. I got the sausage biscuits and gravy and it was absolutely delicious! Only thing I would change would be the quantity as I wanted to eat two full orders lol. The price was very reasonable for a single full order so it's very easy to order two and pay what you would at a chain restaurant for just half of what they give you but not as tasty. My partner got the standard breakfast with a side of bacon. He had no complaints and enjoyed his meal. We got the apple pie for dessert. The lady mentioned they put 7 apples in one pie! We both really enjoyed it as it wasn't too sweet and definitely could fully enjoy the apple flavor. We've been to Floozies several times and it's always so disappointing and it's a shame because the owners appear to be very colorful people judging by the art in the back. The food was never horrible, just passable and not much of a selection. Pies are decent but the service has been consistently horrible. It's like watching paint dry waiting on a menu, placing an order, getting your drinks, and omg, you'll be either passed out or furious by the time your food arrives. The hubs and I stopped by Floozies Pie Shop to check out their freshly-made pies. Besides sweet and savory pies, they also have breakfast and lunch items that are available, and plenty of seats in the restaurant as well as as some patio tables out in the front to dine-in. I was a little sad that they didn't have any savory pies (besides quiche), and many other items as well (such as the drinks/beverages that were featured as specials), but we still wanted to try the pies out. The hubs had a Sour Cherry pie, and I had the Cherry Coconut Almond Crumb pie and a quiche Lorraine. We were not really fans of the crust, as it was not really a good complement to the fillings - it was dry and had no flavor. The fillings, however, was pretty good - the sour cherries were definitely tangy; the Coconut Almond Crumb tasted like a little crumb tart, with tons of almond slivers on top; the quiche was a little disappointed, as it was more on the watery side. Cody, one of the employees, was sooo unbelievably sweet and personable - so cool! Where to begin in the saga that was attempting to get a Floozie's pie... We came here twice in an attempt to get pie. The first time was on a Tuesday because both Yelp and Facebook state that they're open. WRONG. Tuesday was a complete bust. I was pretty salty that we drove all the way out there (ahem, 20 whole minutes) and came home pie-less. We went back today (shut up, I wanted pie). It was pouring rain. A real deluge. I sprinted across the street straight through the newly poured and yes, WET, concrete. The poor construction guys were not just cheering me across the street--it was more like: STOP RUNNING YOU CRAZY HO. But I didn't. So, toes covered in concrete I peeked in the door and it's dark. Closed. Ka-put. And I felt like crying. I decided to walk into Obrigado next door to see if they were closed down. The girl working the bar was so friendly and told me to walk around the back of the bar into Floozies (they're attached!!) and actually sold me a pie (well, two halves). The inside of the pie shop is so cool. It's retro and spacious and I wish we could have eaten inside. Maybe on our next trip! We got 1/2 of a sour cherry and 1/2 of a caramel apple. The sour cherry is amazing. Tart and juicy and the crust. THE CRUST. OMG. Flaky and sweet and I'm making a dress out of it. Like, now. The caramel apple is really good too, but very sweet. I liked the sour cherry and found the tartness balanced out the sweetness nicely. All in all, it was worth two trips, a run through the rain and concrete covered sandals. read more

Had an amazing brunch today at Floozy's. It was our 1st ever visit and we located it on Yelp. So very glad we found this delicious and quaint restaurant. The sour cherry pie was fantastic with buttery flaky crust, I actually ate mine while waiting on my meal to come I had the chicken pot pie and my husband chose to have the all meat omelette with a side of biscuits and gravy. He said it was the only time in 25 years that he had eaten sausage gravy that reminded him of his grandmothers. Covid hours are very limited, I think they are opened just 2 (maybe 3) days a week. Also, even if there is a crowd outside, they will not open the doors even 1 minute early. The wait staff seem to be overwhelmed or overworked, but once you get service and food, the food is amazing, but the standouts are the pies. Never had a pie that did not amazing. read more

Stopped after a trip to the country for the fall corn maze just up the road. We arrived 10 minutes before closing just to buy pie and they were happy to see us even that late in the day. I bought a "Frankenpie" made up of wedges of 4 kinds to make a full pie, for $29 or about $32 with tax. Normally the fruit pies were $20 so not a bad upcharge for the variety. We started with the Blackberry Rhubarb double crust pie which turned out to be DH's favorite! I got the Pucker Up and Kiss Lemon pie for me, it was a regular pastry crust and more of a lemon marmalade filling not a pudding. It was also great but a little sweeter than I prefer. Next was Rainforest Crunch which was like a pecan pie filling but with whole mixed nuts. Rainforest was my favorite, not as overly sweet as some and a good solid custard under the nuts that held up for eating a day later. Last but not least was a Coconut Cherry Almond with a crunch top and was excellent too, just tart enough and lots of cherry flavor. By the time the 7 of us left it was 15 minutes after closing, they didn't mind it, and we had purchased a fair bit of the pie inventory. Recommended for pie of course! read more
